Not gonna lie, gabriel’s video got me sucked into the story. He was really explaining EVERYTHING and when he said at the end “if you don’t want to follow me anymore I respect that and if you come back in a while you will see I have grown”. That really touched me to be honest.
That end telling people not to forgive him but give him time to win us back was the best part of the whole thing. His now over 600k subs, proving that telling his truth worked.

I can’t help but agree with you on why Laura’s situation hits us harder. The tweet she made about black people pulling their pants up was 5 months after the Trayvon Martin situation. I remember crying during the final verdict. I’m not saying this as fact, but that tweet shows that she has an actual disdain for African American men. This wasn’t the same situation we’ve always seen where someone uses the n word in a “lighthearted” way, this was insensitive, insulting, ignorant and downright racist statement.

Laura Lee is getting the most hate because she's playing the VICTIM after she attacked two groups of people on twitter. Her apology was bs and even then, she disrespected her audience by FALSELY saying what actually happened (tweeted, not retweeted). I fully accepted Gabriel's apology because you can just tell he was genuine. What makes me sad, though, was how he was bullied into a public apology for his friends because of the dirt that was found about them. It seems like they're mad at him because their RACISM went viral, and he felt the need to apologize for that, even though the community is mad at them for BEING RACIST, not for screenshots of their tweets. I hope that makes sense lol. basically, I don't think it's fair that Gabriel was basically apologizing for their messy pasts coming back to haunt them. I've been loving your updates on this, btw!
I will be honest, I am so into this drama because I'm a single mom and once my daughter goes to bed this drama is what is keeping me entertained, I'm gonna have to take up knitting or origami when it's over 😂

Your comments about them being the top people in the “industry” and the mentality of smaller channels looking up to them as in “they want to get to that level of “stardom” is what is wrong with all of youtube. Not your comments but the mentality. People complain about how hating sponsorships and affiliate codes and blah blah blah yet instead of supporting someone like EmilyNoel they continue to watch the ones they say they hate. CZcams shouldn’t be a place for you to become rich and famous, pay your bills maybe, but not what these people have become. We used to come to CZcams to see and listen to people who were as passionate about makeup as we were but now I think Beauty CZcamsrs look at it as a means to an end. During Emily’s launch today I made the mistake of going see if Trendmood had posted about her, she had and people in the comments were shredding Emily. While I think she deserves so many more subscribers than the drama whores, I was also thinking I don’t want Emily to get bigger if this is what will happen to her. Meaning people in her comments being so shitty. I hope that all made sense. And there are other youtubers similar to her but she is just at the forefront today. I have so much more I could say about this but I’ll let you do the talking, that’s not my strong suit.

You nailed it in explaining why this important to talk about. The huge gurus are, in fact, a misrepresentation of this community. It's the same concept as voting with your dollar, your view and clicking Subscribe shows you condone that behavior. CZcams is about connecting with people, and we subscribed initially because we liked them, and thought they were good people. I would assume everyone wants their community represented by someone who upholds basic human kindness, at the least.

From the second I subscribed to him probably about a year ago I always said to myself “ omg I wish I found him sooner, these are the kind of beauty videos I want to see from people “. Gabriel is the only person on CZcams that when I watch I honestly feel like he’s my friend. When Gabriel uploaded last night my heart sank into my stomach because I got nervous knowing it could be a spew of bullshit and I would unfortunately have to subscribe; he didn’t let me down. I have subbed back and forth from Laura for probably six months because I first saw her in a collab video and just felt like she was SOOO un entertaining. Then when I finally subscribed to her for a long time it was honestly because I wanted a video to watch while I was bored. She was ALWAYS my last resort for when I just had absolutely nothing to do. I honestly couldn’t stand anything about her but since I was subbed to all the others I felt that I didn’t want to miss out on info since she was in that group.

When I watch or like a video I can’t help but feel sick knowing I’m contributing to their next Cartier bracelet when I am disabled i have had about 18 surgeries (mostly spinal) and have almost died twice due to metal from my spine popping into my esophagus and putting me on a feeding tube and ventilator for nine months. I get up at 5 am every morning to go to work. I had another spinal surgery a month ago and PUSHED myself to go back to work because I didn’t want help from the state. So it makes me ABSOLUTELY SICK knowing these people only care about materialistic things.

It's so refreshing to see someone have a mature response to a disagreement and not just coming out with a video shading the other person. I wish more people understood that you can't just dismiss someone's interpretation or feelings about a situation as lies, no matter how frustrating it is for you personally, when it's different to your understanding of the same situation. what's so scary to me is how laura lee was trying to twist the narrative by calling her tweets "retweets," as if that makes her less accountable...to see this manipulation in action indicates her refusal to truly own up to her actions. good thing most people have been quick to affirm that she is lying about that. for me, her lack of accountability in that video means that her actions are still reflective of a mindset that she truly doesn't see a problem with...which makes sense as she tweeted those things when she was an adult

I personally don’t trust any of them. Gabriel’s apology was nice and seemed genuine but he also blew the whistle on his so called “friends” at the drop of a dime. Plus they were all friends at some point so they most likely shared the same ideals. As for Jeffree, I just don’t like him because he stays stirring up drama, he’s problematic. Also, I totally agree with what you said in your last video about people excusing Jeffree because they have someone New who did the same thing. It’s really all too messy. Chella E. Why does he have to stay quiet? He has the right to say what he wants because this group of people have been tarnishing his name and they made people fall for it. There was a point where I was shit on by former friends and everyone believed it. People thought I was the piece of shit, but then it started happening to other people and they finally understood that I wasn’t the bad guy in the situation and I said I told you over and over. I had the right to stir the pot and finally tell my side of the story cause it was the first time people were listening. @@chelsisxr I get what you're saying, but he's still changing, and social media is a very hard place to change with all the hate he gets daily. However, the change is in that Jeffree Star of last year would have ripped them apart for what they did instead of just shading them. With time he will hopefully get much better at handling this kind of thing. I think he's trying but it's hard.

When I was watching Gabriel's video I was almost surprised by how closely he followed your suggestions for a proper apology. I know it sounds crazy but I almost wonder if he watched your video . . . At the very least the timing of Gabriel's video allowed him to look at the response to Laura and Manny's "apologies" and take advice/suggestions from videos like yours or at least comments and tweets in response to the whole situation. I think me "caring" about beauty drama (eg watching videos like these) is twofold. Sometimes it's nice to zone out and listen to drama that isnt life or death, but also a lot of these guys work with big companies - as we all know! - and I am influenced by people behind the brand with regards to whether or not I endorse their company with my buying and recommending products. It's just makeup at the end of the day, so I can afford to take or leave things based on whether or not I like the message of the name on the packaging. Also, people with influence need to be called out on their BS period. Nobody should ever, ever be above reproach. Great chat as always, I think your hair looks hella cute with the curls! Hi, new sub here! Love how eloquent you are. A good question to ask yourself: Why do I care? To me, the recent drama took me back to a recent falling out we've had in our circle of firm friends, which lead to a break up with some of them. A lot of what happened I can equate almost one on one to what happened to us as a group of friends. I won't go into details, but we would still all be together if some people would have just manned up like Gabriel Zamora and genuinely apologized. As for the so-called drama channels: they to me serve the purpose of the Chorus in a Greek drama: they provide comments and sometimes insight like you just did in your video.

How MannyMUA was getting away with being 'unscathed' through every situation and after seeing the social-climbing tendencies he's had after all this time is really a show of his character.

I'm a teacher in New York City and I've been listening to teens and young adults use that word, in the same way Gabriel did, for 16 years. Here, EVERYONE says it, not just African Americans, and they all use it in everyday conversation. The only ones who don't use it are the white kids, but everyone else, and I mean everyone from all walks of life, does. So when I saw Gabriel's tweet, I didn't see it as racist because he used the word flippantly. I'm so used to hearing and seeing it used because of where I live. I've always hated it but I learned to ignore it because in NYC it's so common. Hopefully, because of everyone's reaction to this tweet, that, finally, young people here will stop using that word.

The reason I am most upset with Laura lee isn’t really about the tweets for me. Yes they are upsetting but I thought it was years ago and I’m sure Laura had grown and I could see past it (to the tweets affected me) BUT THEN she came out with this apology that to me was very upsetting. I felt like she faked cried, she didn’t take responsibility, she didn’t explain herself, she made her subs out to be stupid for that apology. Did she really believe that apology video was ok?? That’s what I can’t see past, when I believe she wasn’t even sorry for what she said.

I was very impressed with Gabriel's apology. Like you pointed out, his version of events seemed really plausible. It was smart of him to make a video explaining everything because, based on his tweets alone, he just seemed petty and insincere (to me at least). I'm shocked to hear everything about Manny though. I don't religiously watch anyone in the beauty guru community, but Manny always seemed really sweet. Maybe that's because his go-to move is to play the victim though. He definitely should upload a raw, honest video if he doesn't want to risk losing subscribers. Although, as you stated, I still firmly believe that what Laura Lee did was worse than everyone else combined. Great video, as always! You deserve the 7,000 subscribers!
