I agree with Shady. "Coming for" gives the impression someone is catching up and how can you be catching up when you are adding trophies to your case. If Mahomes did not win and Burrows did then yeah "Coming for him". Pat is coming for Brady, he may never catch him but it is legitimate to say that because the gap is closing. When a gap is expanding then "coming for" is downright insulting.

It's a rivalry. Prior to the last season AFC Championship, Bengals beat the Chiefs three times including the AFC title game in 2022. Then the Chiefs came back and beat them proceeding to win the SB. If it was still one sideded in Cincy favor then it wouldn't a rivalry but that change after the Chiefs beat them which makes it an official rivalry now. These two teams are in each other's way for AFC Supremency. Similar to Pats and Colts in the early 2000s where Brady was always beating Manning but that matchup was still deemed a rivalry anyway. So this is definitely one.

You can argue all you want about having two #1 WRs but Higgins wasn’t even talked about till last year and wasn’t even mentioned of being a 1 till this last season, and Chase was a rookie. The past 5 years have shown us, we can put Patrick Mahomes into his own category. There is no other QB that is his equal. There is no other QB you can make a case for being better than him. What you can do, is have discussions about 2, 3, 4, 5 and on down the line. You can say with confidence Burrow is #2 and you'd be exactly right. You can then debate about Josh Allen, and Trevor Lawrence, and Jalen Hurts and who should be 3, 4,5 etc. But it is beyond disupute that Mahomes is #1. End of story.

I don't think Mahomes is who he is without Reid. Reid got McNabb and co to 5 straight NFC title games and always had a top 5 offense with different looks. Reid has also had a lot of success developing Qbs. Now do I think Mahomes wouldn't of been successful? No, that's crazy talk. Mahomes is clearly talented. I think any talented QB is going to get better with Reid. We've seen McNabb, Smith, and Mahomes all excel under Reid.

Of all the games that they’ve played against each other only 2 of them have actually mattered and they’re 1-1 in those. If we’re talking about championships, 5 straight AFC appearances, 3 AFC championships, and 2 SBs versus 1 AFC championship appearance, 1 AFC championship and 0 SBs is not a rivalry imo 😂 But, I think it has the potential to get there, the Bengals are a great team.
