Not taking anything away from Mahomes, one of the best in the game and will continue to be so for some time I am sure. Burrow came to a team that had 2 wins the season before and has almost single handedly brought the Bengals back to life. Mahomes came to a team that hadn't had a losing season for five years before he joined them and they were already quite talented and had Andy Reid, one of the great NFL coaches at the helm already. Burrows has changed the entire mentality of the Bengals along with Zac Taylor. As QBs they both are impressive but what Burrow has done for Cincinnati is damn near miraculous. Only time will tell the end of this argument, but I see great things from both of these guys in the future, but what Burrow has overcome and produced with what he had to work with from the start compared to Mahomes is more impressive to me.
Lets say You are the gm of a nfl team. You have a good oline, and nice weapons on offense. For whatever reason, both the bengals and the chiefa approach you wanting to trade you their qbs for a first. Who you taking. I would take mahomes any day of the week.

Mahomes’ victory over the Bills, January 2022 is a difference maker to my mind. It’s like he went through an evolution beginning last year with the humiliation in the SB. This year 1st half he struggled but he evolved for the better, succeeding in the 2nd half of the season and culminating in his stunning comeback against the Bills in the playoffs.
Now, he’s harder, stronger, smarter. He’s still going to lose to the Rams because the league’s primary purpose is the humiliation of Detroit, and he will lose to Brady next year because Brady wins the SB every other year, but then Mahomes gets another title.

The only thing keeping him from being in the conversation for best quarterbacks of all time is the fact he hasn't played in the league very long which will change when he has played a few more years and has another Superbowl or 2 under his belt (which I believe he will accomplish and probably more). I hear about how great Mahomes is all the time by our media and people around me and this is coming from a 49ers fan. He is hardly underestimated. People know he's gonna put up some huge numbers and get nervous seeing their favorite team playing against him.
Burrows is talented but Skip is reaching and he has definitely not proven he is better than Mahomes. Skip is just going against the grain and being the dissenting voice against Mahomes like he does to Lebron. Mahomes is once in a generation talent not just as a QB but also being compared to talent at any position. His accomplishments in his short career (like you said) is unprecedented. Burrow hasn't reached that level or even won a Superbowl yet. With these 17 game seasons and pass friendly era, Mahomes has the opportunity to bust all kinds of all time records and he probably will.

It’s not like they have a bad roster though. Their defense is highly underrated and they have one of the best receiving corps in the league, the only glaring weakness is the OL. Mahomes walked into a better situation but Burrow is by no means carrying a bad team to the playoffs on his own.

Been loving what I’ve been seeing from Burrow. Mahomes really is a perfect storm though in terms of where and how he landed and his talent.
Yeah he walked on to a team with Kelce & Tyreek & Andy Reid. Like when Drew Brees went to NOLA with Sean Payton & Reggie Bush. We have yet to see what Mahomes looks like on an average or below average team. Under Mahomes the Chiefs have had one of if not the best roster in football. When Hill and Kelce age out or get injured we will see what Mahomes is. As for Burrow... We know what he is now guiding that roster he has past Mahomes and to the SB. It's not a stretch to say Burrow will be better all said and done but it isn't a lock either. Just have to see what Mahomes does with a less than all-star cast on offense around him.
We've also seen Burrow make several dangerous passes in these last 2 games and get picked off twice. He has been far from perfect. The hype is already out of control. Burrow will need to improve a lot to be one of the greats. Maybe it will happen and maybe it won't.

Mahomes is incredible. He's a future hall of famer. However, before he was drafted by the Chiefs, the Chiefs had made 3 straight playoff appearances with some wins. When Joe Burrow came to Cincinnati, they were coming off of 2 of the worst seasons in NFL history. Burrow also had his knee shredded in his first year after being drafted during the COVID madness and not being able to spend a lot of time in training camp before his first season. In his second year he took a team predicted to come in last in their division to the AFC Championship game all the while leading the league in sacks taken and completion percentage.
Again, not taking anything away from Mahomes, but you have to recognize the odds that Burrow has overcome.
