Last night my girlfriend and I were looking for a movie for a cozy evening. I wanted to watch an action movie something like john wick. But she wanted Fire Saga. A little disappointed I agreed. After 30 minutes my girlfriend fell asleep. This was my chance for an action movie. Nothing came of it. I had zero expectations in the movie. I thought it was just about embarrassing the ESC. But it's a masterpiece. Incredibly in love with detail, playing with the ESC contestants. Like the piano player who is also an ESC legend. The Sing Along which I must have watched 3 times in a row just because I was so surprised. Finally, it is a tribute to Europe, Iceland and the ESC. It made me proud to be European. The perfect film, everyone gets their money's worth.

I thought this Movie would be a joke of Eurovision. But, instead... They did Such a Beautiful work, that Eurovision is not Europe biggest secret anymore ❤️

He won the Eurovision song contest 2009 and for most people he is the person that's thought of when thinking Eurovision. His performance was iconic

2009 was my first time watching Eurovision, online (I live in the US, unfortunately), and I remember Alexander Rybak's performance and thinking he was the best. I was so glad he won, he was so joyous with his violin.

Man muss einfach das Video in der englischen Originalfassung sehen - meinetwegen auch gerne mit deutschen Untertiteln .....aber die deutschen Synchronstimmen gehen gar nicht. Habe das Video schon ein paar Mal nun gesehen und genieße es alleine schon wegen den Songs ♥.
Die deutsche Synchro finde ich alleine deswegen bei diesem Streifen nicht so top, weil der Dialekt komplett fehlt. Finde ich aber in dem Zusammenhang auch nicht unwichtig (...man kann doch nicht in der Landessprache siegen 😋).
Aber wirklich ein großartiger Streifen...für Leute ohne ESC-Bezug sicher eher mittelmäßig, aber als langjähriger ESC-Fan bekommt man hier viele kleine Anspielungen, das Spielen mit den typischen ESC-Klischees (inklusive Windmaschine und ewig langen Outfits), die vieeelen Cameos (auch plötzlich Wiwibloggs entdeckt? Selbst ein ESC-Blogger landet im ESC-Streifen...wie viel Liebe zum Detail kann man eigentlich haben?), hochwertig produzierte Songs etc. spendiert.
Ein Gute-Laune-Streifen, der ausgerechnet im Jahr erscheint, in dem es keinen Wettbewerb gab...und wo ausgerechnet Island große Chancen gehabt hätte, das Ding zu gewinnen.
Wird bei mir jetzt sicher auch immer eine kleine Tradition werden, mir diesen Streifen am Tag vorm Finale anzuschauen 🙂
@@Toastkruemelchen87 stimme dem 100 %ig zu. Der Film wurde von den Filmkritikern zerrissen und wird von den Zuschauern geliebt (sieht man an den Netflix Top 10 charts, den iTune charts weltweit etc. - die Musik zum Film könnte sogar eine Oscar-Nominierung für "best original song in a film" bekommen.
