There should be a new expansion coming to KS. Twilight 2000 "Urban Operations". The expansion will include guidelines for playing in cities, new factions, new scenario sites, and introduce several plots to create longer story arcs. It will be a boxed set with a scenario book, city maps, scenario site maps, modular battle maps for urban environments, and new encounter cards for urban environments. It wont be set like the original version (free city of Krakow) in Krakow.

I would love to see some solo RPG content, since I really dont have a group to play with, and would like to try out roleplaying games again.

There are a bunch of good solo rpg channels these days. It's really cool that Freeleague has incorporated solo gaming into Twilight 2000, The One Ring and Forbidden Lands (the last I think might be just about to have the supplement published.

This was my second-favorite RPG, released when I was 13! So glad it's been re-done, and I can't wait!! Thanks so much for doing this!

I picked this up; I think it looks fantastic and I would love to give it a run. I like sandboxes and hexcrawls, but it might be an easier sell for my group if there's an achievable goal like regrouping at a rally point... even if it requires a bit of a circuitous route to get there due to being cut off by the Reds. I recall that the original edition gave the impression that you would wander around Poland being the Magnificent Seven for a long time... that appeals to me personally but I'm a weirdo so what do I know?

I'd try planting an idea, or ideas, for the goal if the players aren't accustomed to a sandbox. Quickly give them some kind of rumors about an ideal town of friendly holdouts looking for more people to help, for example. Or a rumored Kelly's Heroes type of semi-secret wealth stash which can possibly fund their return home, or simply supply their own little fief for a long time. Whether done by stray radio transmission, secret paper message that's found on the corpse of an enemy, or some revealing friendly NPC, it can provide a good push in a direction some groups need. Then you can make that road appropriately long and hard along the way since much of the fun is in the journey.

@@NefariousKoel Yeah. It's start with a few or even just one hook/scenario in a starting location and add more hooks as they go. Having the freedom to latch onto hooks or just exploring locations is the beauty of sandboxing with stories emerging from the characters interacting with npc's, factions, locations etc.

A wargame pretending to be an RPG. This is a prime candidate for, if I wanted to run a campaign in this setting, and I have zero old man nostalgia reasons to do so so that will never happen, I would run this in GURPS. The art’s pretty. And that’s about it.
