UN-BOXING 'Twilight 2000 4th Edition' Post Apocalyptic RPG from Free League

The new edition of the apocalyptic RPG Twilight: 2000 will be the fourth in the series, the first being released by Game Designers’ Workshop in 1984. Just like the original version, the new edition is set in a year 2000 devastated by war - now in an alternate timeline where the Moscow Coup of 1991 succeeded and the Soviet Union never collapsed.

Loved Twilight 2000 back in the day. There were a lot of games (T2000, Car Wars, Gamma World) from the 80s that had a much bleaker future figured out for us than we have so far achieved.

Reading the alternative time line in this game is sad and depressing. Cities gone in a nuclear blast with no aid every arriving because they were popping off elsewhere too. Very bleak. Made me do the cross motion and I’m not even catholic

The original Twilight:2000 was my absolute favorite RPG back in the 80’s. Loved the gritty setting, and I still remember how cool the pencil drawn artwork was in the books. We really dug Star Frontiers and Gamma World as well.
