    I have a 2020 2500 tradesman, it has the 360 camera view and it’s nice for 56k. So far as affordability the tradesmen models where I’m from aren’t really that affordable but way better than paying 90k for a chrome stripe and 12 in screen. Glad you made this video

      Ram trim levels are weird you can get a tradesmen with power slide window in rear under the level 2 package of the trim. The big horn doesn’t come with a power slide and it costs $4,000 more to get that option. It seems like the only additive of big horn is the nicer interior with the soft touch doors if you go completely stock on big horn

    I just bought one this year. You didn't mention the snow chief package. Big alternator, 18" rims, top of cab lights, wiring harness wired into the dash buttons for accessories, transfer case protection. Very happy with my purchase.

    you can option a tradesman up to dang near 80k with tons of options. But you can't get heated seats and steering wheel. If I could order one that's probably the only option I'd really want and it's not available.

    I still don't understand why these trucks are so tall, i wish on their base models that they would be lower to the ground like an older pickup, all new trucks are just way too tall.

  • @Baalstudios
    @Baalstudios Před 2 lety +5

    60k is fuckin ridiculous. I have no clue how they are selling new trucks these days. These trucks are NOT worth that much, maybe high 40s to 50k is reasonable for a BASE model cummins.

  • @NavyGuy2OO7
    @NavyGuy2OO7 Před 2 lety +5

    I mean 60K isn't really that bad for an HD diesel, especially when the market goes back to normal and you can negotiate down from there, decent options for a tradesmen.

    • @dantimber
      @dantimber Před 2 lety +2

      Yes the chip shortage will eventually end and the market will normalize. Dealers should keep that in mind when demanding premiums over MSRP. Customers will remember who did it and who didn't.

      @@ictpilotI’m sure the hemi will last a long time and by the time you break even with the money spent on gas for the hemi compared to the Cummins it would prob take 10 years (atleast that’s how long it would for me with my annual driving).

    • @ictpilot
      @ictpilot Před 2 lety +3

      @@amolinari9 If you're going to the lake once or twice a month or occasional towing your hemi is fine. If you're doing serious pulling or pulling trailers day in day out, you want the diesel.

      @amolinari9 Před 2 lety +3

      @@ictpilot agreed 100% I tow once or twice a year lol so even if I increased that 10x I’d still get the hemi based on what you said. I haul a lot though maximizing the trucks payload capacity and then some but that’s fine it’s what it’s made for. I’d get the Cummins purely because I love the sound of it and just straight up want one not cz I need one.

    I can spend 60k for a base model cummins with 0 options or a 62K Lariat 7.3 gasser…. I pull a 38 foot camper and coming from a 21 6.4 Hemi with 3.73s

    • @brada1997
      @brada1997 Před 2 lety

      Either one would be a huge upgrade. I'm a Ford guy and the Lariat is crazy nice. I think the back seat in far better in the Ford. I've had diesel for 20 years and if i was buying today i would get the 7.3 gasser. It depends on how heavy and often you tow. My buddy had a 2015 Ram 2500 gasser and it was the worst ride and horrid on fuel mileage. My 16 F350 Lariat rode way better.
