Georges St-Pierre is the GOAT of MMA and the UFC, even when compared to other greats like Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Anderson Silva, Demetrious Johnson and other Greats in MMA. GSP's story from losing to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, to avenging both his losses and becoming the dominant champion of welterweight is inspiring to UFC fighters of the modern era. And even if we consider Georges St-Pierre's greatest criticisms, those being his boring wrestling, lack of finishes, and never moving up in weight, those critiques were all put to bed when GSP submitted Michael Bisping and became a UFC double champion (2-division champion) of both the UFC middleweight division and the UFC welterweight division. GSP is not only the greatest UFC welterweight, and greatest UFC fighter ever but his vulnerability and the way he carries himself as a representative of the sport makes him stand tall among the greatest UFC fighters ever. In this Georges St-Pierre Documentary, I dive into GSP's career and prove that he is the greatest UFC fighter ever over Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson.

Wrong Jon Jones and GSP are not the only fighters in the ufc to finish every opponent before the ufc
I never said that my friend
@@lionelrivera_MMA FIRST OF ALL,,,,WHOA, JACK, TAKE IT DOWN A NOTCH BROTHA. DON'T BE SO QUICK TO CRITICIZE OTHERS WITHOUT THE FACTS TO BACK IT UP. ON THE OTHER NOTE I WANTED TO MAKE.....

THANK YOU, FOR YOUR TIME AND YOUR EFFORTS, KEEP BEING YOU AND WITHOUT A DOUBT YOUR CHANNEL WILL GROW INTO SOMETHING UNIMAGINABLE , HERE'S ONE MORE SUBSCRIBER TO JOIN YOUR TEAM.👍👍
what is a goat ?
GSP is my all time favourite fighter (maybe I’m biased because I’m Canadian) but you did a hell of a job with this doc, wow! I think you nailed it and thank you for making it. I can’t say for certain he is the goat, but I definitely can’t say he isn’t. No asterisk like Jones with the roids, he ended his career on a high unlike the Spider, and he defended his belt way more than Kahbib. Out of these 4 fighters, GSP and Bones are the only two, 2 weight champs. For me I have to lean towards GSP. I don’t think Canada will ever have a more dominant champ. Thanks for making this, you’ve earned another sub.
A 1h20 min documentry on GSP already knowing his whole entire life and fights am I really going to watch this? Hell yes.
You had me in the first half I'm not gonna lie😅 LMK what you think when you finish!
@@lionelrivera_MMA Just finished and it was absolutely amazing. I love how much research and backstory you but into every single fights you presented it truly inspired me seeing so many clips of GSP showing his true feelings. It really shows how much effort you put into making this video and it’s definitely the best GSP documentary out of all the ones that i’ve seen which usually mostly just show the fights and some minor details behind them. Huge fan of your videos and I can’t wait for the next one which I know who it is ;)
Your comment made my day. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Exactly what I was going to say.
Same here. I love to relive his run. Those were the days.
GSP sayint he hired a man to kiss his opponent and is the best troll in sports history.
🤣🤣🤣
Yea that was a good one! I dint know if he did it for real but was a good trole move
I know I never knew about that interview and I died laughing
Wasn’t that Mickey Avalon?
What do you mean troll
That was gsp's mind playing the best match of mind 3d chess ever 😂😂😂
As a young French Canadian myself, i knew who GSP was before what UFC was. That's how much of a national treasure this man is.
And now he's a global treasure.
Same here, born & raised in MTL. I remember hearing about GSP when I was in elementary, I was probably 6 or 7.
What I love most about GSP is how classy he is, and professional.
So you knew him as Canada's most famous amateur archaeologist?
@@jeffn2723 We knew him as a junior Chess Champion.

Gsp 🐐button

🐑 Matt Serra 🐑
With all the drugs and partying gsp did is incredible what he’s accomplished during his career 🔥🔥
Clearly the button is broken cos he's 100% the goat no losses he never avenged an an never anything but the most respectful an honourable warrior. Unlike Jones hes never cheated. And unlike khabib he has faced actual legit legendary fighters. Khabib never did that Connor is his best win an Connor was a joke.
@@guilliman1990 While I completely agree that Kahbib isn't the GOAT, I disagree that Connor was the best opponent he faced, I would say that was Gaethje.
Not only GSP is the best mma fighter for me, but also the best character as a fighter never backed down and always humble
The best guy around
I really believe that gsp is the greatest mma athlete, he contested in a division that was considered the most talented at that time (unlike dj) , he dosen't have many controversies and close fights (unlike jones), he only has 2 losses, of which both are avenged(unlike silvas losing streak), and unlike khabib he stuck around and defended his belt 10+ times and became a double champ, his personality is quality that sets the deal in stone. ( Yes, i am profession gsp meatrider)
Lol the meat rider part
GSP had a controversial win over big rig Hendricks
Gsp is the goat its not close Jones legacy is tainted by the drug cheating no discussion automatically puts him out of discussion.
@@thenotoriousgrease Yes, but really not as controversial as people make it out to be. It all came down to how you scored the first round; two judges gave it to GSP (I agree), one gave it to Hendricks, and that was the difference.
You ever heard of jon jones?
hearing GSP at the end talk about how being the strongest is an illusion remind me a lot of the story of musashi
🤔
100% agree. It’s remarkable how true wisdom travels centuries for us to learn from. We’re all human beings and we can never be more than that. Period.
It's the ballad of buster scruggs. Sooner or later someone younger and better is gonna come along, that's life. Mad respect to him for giving up the belt so he could be there for his kids
What quote in particular??

After that I studied morning and evening searching for the principle, and came to realise theWay of strategy when 1 was fifty."

Yeah..... except the Personal Life could be a bit more Role Modelish. GSP is kinda of a Hoe. Straight up Man Hoe. Boi gets around. Loves the Sistas
What a genuinely likeable bloke GSP is.
I was lucky enough to see most of his run and let me tell you this the hype is real. Never seen someone like him. GSP is 22 and 2 and not only got this wins back he embarrassed both Matt’s when they ran it back!

Glad you liked the video!
Another banger vid gsp and Mighty Mouse are the most underrated goats
Should I do Mighty as well? 👀
Yeah he’s the best technically
Flyweight is most skilled division and he dominated them had 11 consecutive only ended by a controversial decision and he dominated at ONE and in total has more title defenses than anyone ever as well as facing some of the best competition and striker with rodtang wrestled with cejudo he is in my opinion the goat
Actually after finishing gsp is better
Dude, it what world are they underrated? They are on at least 99% of every ones mma MT Rushmore lol and a good portion has the other two as Silva and Jones.
GSP did not do Olympic wrestling, or any Top Tier wrestling, but has the (Most Take Downs in UFC History) simply with his amazing timing on his opponents footwork after causing a distraction of some sort. His IQ was incredible to the incredible! He could quite literally put together a nice game plan on how to beat any style of fighter from Conor, to Khabib Styles, and worked hard at just that throughout his Marvelous career. Takes 3+ years off from fighting, and then returns only to snatch the Middleweight Title like "WHAT?" Becomes a Double Champ, and makes history. Today, GSP still works hard at grappling, and sharpening his submissions and even still submit 90% or more of the current top 20 in Welterweight with NO PROBLEM. George St. Pierre, and Randy Couture both started the New Style of combat we know today... (Good Take Downs, and Ground N Pounding, can beat Good Striking, and also beat Good Wrestling as well through submissions after the Take Down)
Whenever George was WALKING the octagon, he looked like the MMA Messiah.
Whenever George was FIGHTING in the octagon, he looked like the future of fighting, and was conditioned better than all of his opponents.
George demanded to right the 2 wrongs he suffered in the octagon FAST to clear up any doubt of him, and then went on to win and become a Undisputed Double Champ.
If you were a better striker than George.... It's fine, he would take you down all night and leave a mark on you each time he does it.
If you were a better wrestler than George... It's fine, he would take you down 1st and force you to strike more than you want and he would TKO you or submit you once he fatigued you.
If you were well rounded in both Striking and Wrestling, then George used his gymnanast mentality, and would Out Work you until you fatigue from his relentless pressure and feints. George had untouchable stamina and used it to exhaust his opponents.
We all have our picks of who the GOAT is or should be. George has the Most Take Downs in UFC History, and 99% of future fighters won't even touch his record in that category. George also is in the (Top 5 in UFC History) in several other HUGE categories like, (Title Defenses), (Title Wins), (Double Champ), (Control Time over the Opponent), (Significant Strikes Landed %), (Consecutive Rounds Won), and a few others as well. He simply fought well in all aspects of a fight, and had a counter for everything.
George looked a Champion before he was a Champion. He carried himself WELL, and fought like a Champion every single time.
To me, George St. Pierre is the GOAT of the UFC.
To me, George St. Pierre has the highest IQ in MMA.
To me, George did this the right way, (RESPECTFULLY AND WITH BRAVERY) as well as trying to be a Role Model for Kids and Young Adults in Gymnastics.
To me, I seriously doubt I will see a future fighter in any generation dominate and out wit their opponents more than George did his generation. George's fight style started the new revolution of MMA and how you can defeat Strikers or Wrestlers through sheer dedication to know your every weakness and use it against you in ways you CAN'T stop if you tried.
George St. Pierre ~ "GOAT of the UFC" "The Most Skilled Fighter" "The best to ever do it"
SPOT ON!
GSP looks like God personally created him for the UFC lol. Has these really long Arms, Wide Torso. He looks like he was created in a UFC Lab with bioengineering. We will never see another GSP.
He is the Michael Jordan of MMA.

This was an incredible documentary. The clips and interviews and perspectives were perfect. I've watched pretty much everything on GSP but you had a couple clips on here that I've never seen. Well done 👏
Bro I was 5 minutes in and I’m man enough to admit it. I cried. Cause I thought I was the only one who felt like that. Love the video, keep up the great work

Between watching Lionel Rivera's 80 minute video and Mixed Martial Academic's 140 minute video a few days ago, my wife has filed for divorce because I've been neglecting her "needs." Worth it! if you keep working as hard as you do I can promise you that you will go very far and you definitely deserve 1mil sub 💪🏽💪🏽 ❤
Ultimately I believe it’s all the character traits, along with the career triumphs, trials and tribulations that culminated together into GSP’s God status in the world of UFC.
Undoubtedly, the greatest stories in the history of our lives is when we chase our goals, only to get derailed off our unbeaten path by the unknown & unforeseen circumstances of life itself. It’s what we do afterwards, how we deal with feeling defeated and managing to overcome those new obstacles that create legacies.
GPS is a realistically self aware man who never tried to end careers or ever needed a ref to pull him off of an opponent. He lost twice, and avenged those loses with the same amount of humility, class and respect shown to everyone else, no matter the outcome.
GSP is the definition of a man’s man in my eyes. He is what every parent wishes to raise their children to be like, and displays himself as a role model to imitate as an adult.
There are genuinely great people in the world of MMA. But the ones who’ve reached the highest levels of success in the sport can’t say their on GSP’s level.

John Danaher is 100% correct, it comes down to the viewer and it shows the type of characters you accept as the GOAT. Those that brush off cheating as a way to gain victory, will most likely choose Jon Jones. Those that value a perfect record over quality opponents will probably accept Khabib as the goat. For me, it's simple, the quality of the opponents and not cheating your way in building your legacy are the utmost importance when comparing the three. GSP is the true GOAT.
🤔
@@lionelrivera_MMA bro pls be honest. How many hours would you say it took to make this video
But Khabib's record is not perfect.... Half of his record are fake fights, opponents that only fought once in their "professional career" or had zero wins and three losses... How is that a perfect record...
Even if you take all that away, he only had a small number of fights against real top 5 fighters. He should never be considered as the GOAT.
To be a goat is not to just be undefeated as even the best fighters in the world in each combat sport has loss like muhammad ali, mike tyson, sugar ray Robinson, and even floyd mayweather in his amateur career, rodtang, mighty mouse, gsp and etc they all lost but what seperates them from others is how they can dominate the competition after losing and in some cases completely dominate the fighters that they lost too. To be the greatest isn't to be perfect and have a perfect record to be the greatest is to dominate the competition no matter if you ever lost or not and be able to compete with the elite
You might anger some 🦅 fans
@@lionelrivera_MMA maybe but i do consider khabib as one of the greats, and i feel like if he had even fought longer and lost, i 100% know he would learn from his loss and beat his opponent like gsp, however due to his career being cut short because of his father's passing and his mom asking him to stop which i respect 100% we didn't get to see how much of legend khabib could've been even more than he is now.
You did a great job editing this. Really really well made. I’ve seen most of these clips, but including interviews from his opponents is really cool. Great video
One note, please please never include bone breaking sound effects to submissions. I have small scale ptsd and ur edit just made me puke 😂
Absolutely crazy that the reason bisping was wearing shades wasn’t bcz he’s a drunk, but it’s bcz he had ONE FUCKING EYE AND WAS HIDING IT!!!!!!! It’s so hard to hate any fighter I swear

Wow, This is A very well done doc. You showed all the perfect moments and interveiws and footsge at the right time in the film to where it felt more like a cohesive story with emotion instead of just bombarding us with information..
But I do have to say though that adding those punching sound effects and as often as they are, was kinda getting on my nerves.. like,.it kinda pissed me off jusy a little bit.. Loll..
Idk if its supposed to be a joke, but i feel this.whole thing would just be overall so much better without having those soo often. They just don't add anything and they only annoy the veiwer i feel loke .
But overall this was absolutely amazing!! I can tell that much effort was put into this.
Great documentary w great memories. Thanks!
Why would i not sub to such a well made video. Awesome creator.
Awesome video I love GSP thank you very much!!!
I have passed on this video a couple of times, not another GSP (as huge fan i always wanted to watch a GSP video that deep dives with the highs and the very lows on how we witness it with more grunt and passion), We all know its hard to get George amped up he always kept that same low key and apologetic demeanor that at times people thought he was boring during interviews and what not…Now after watching this video i have to say its not a good nor a great video but a phenomenal video! storytelling was on point not to mention the video editing background music to match the the whole process wasn't easy as u have to navigate through films made from different years and definition, very well thought and execution. Lionel hats off to u bradah, you out did yourself and gave us a glimpse on what talent and skills u have on this one, congrats and can't wait to see ur next film.
