Alex Pereira AKA Poatan is one of the most terrifying strikers to enter the UFC and in just 2 years in the UFC, he became the UFC Middleweight Champion by knocking out his rival, Israel Adesanya, and then became the UFC light heavyweight champion by finishing Jiri Prochazka. Alex Pereira used his previous experience as a 2-division, Glory kickboxing world champion to defeat 4 UFC champions, including Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, Jan Blachowicz, and Jiri Prochazka. By UFC Champion standards, Alex Pereira is an anomaly, becoming the ninth 2-division champion in UFC history alongside Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Henry Cejudio, Amanda Nunes, BJ Penn, and Randy Couture. However, Alex Pereira stands tall among UFC champions, with the distinct honor of becoming a UFC champ-champ in the shortest amount of time - Just 2 years. From his UFC debut to capturing both the UFC middleweight and light-heavyweight championships, Alex Pereira has become a fan-favorite UFC fighter with a historical impact on MMA, Kickboxing, and Combat sports as a whole. Amongst his greatest contributions to the sport of MMA and the UFC is his captivating rivalry with Israel Adesanya. The Pereira vs Adesanya Rivalry transcended the mainstream and is integral to Alex Pereira’s development as a hero in the eyes of MMA fans. This is an Alex Pereira Documentary - enjoy!

and btw: why does your lips doesnt match your voice ? its okay to bot. everybody does it since chat-g was released. but pls, i dont have a testo filled voice myself. but its so fkn rediculous, your face ( if its you) with that voice that never in the whole life is yours and this bad synchro. if name / face is true, you make yourself a fool for 100 k subs ?you know the only persons, and what those are called, ignoring shame for a low amount of price. specially for the fucked up ufc, with top earning dana whi is an aerobic teacher and also posts faked muscles. but you know what they say about your voice and why they cut off thounges or arms. as soon you fake your voice, you collapse as a person. lemme guess.....100 k subs......jeez, you earn less than other persons who lost their voice. i dont judge you. i did worse. but is it worth it ? and if i already asked....excuse me. i try since month to get a real ufc influencer using simple bots to show how corrupted even the scene arround mma has become. so dont take it personal if i asked u twice ^^

Sorry but izzy is the villain.. And not of the badass ones. He's a cringy salty big baby. Not a likeable thing about him
Izzy became that guy in the bar💀
"I beat that guy one time"
I hate when people say this 💀Izzy MMA legacy was solidified a long time ago and he still going. That being said it is hilarious that Alex came and achieved everything Izzy fell short of in a quarter of the time 🤣🤣🤣
@@fmgmackyes but now it’s in question bc Izzy never won at 205 and now Silva looks to be the MW GOAT
@jesseroybal946 not really. Or even slightly for that matter. And if he is is a bar he owns.

Who’s here after Poatan KO’ed Hill?
He's already one of the MMA GOATs in terms of accomplishments. If he defeats Ankalaev, he might become one of the all time UFC GOATs
Massacred wannabee Hill. Alex showed there are levels to this.
Had to come back love this video 😂 "I'm Chinese" 😂 had me dying and man 300 was such a badass card.

Now that you said that he looks like a Tekken fighter, Alex with his tall and lean frame with muscles like iron, he does look like Brian Fury but less psycho .)
"His first meeting with Adesanya on his home soil"

Alex did the entire kickboxing career mode then went to mma and started speedrunning the UFC career mode.💀☠️💀☠️

Alex Pereira really is one of the most inspirational stories, I have ever heard
💯💯
Many years ago you could see Poatan working a tire shop in Brazil in Google Earth street view, now you can see him everywhere in the media as one of the most revered celebrities in combat sports. It's incredible how far he's come.
He's really one of a kind
Yeah, for me it's Pereira, Ngannou and Oliveira who inspire me the most.
Crazy to see people saw him as the bad guy just because the BAD GUY (Izzy) painted him as so
Whose here after pereira knocked out Jamahal?
I sure am haha 🗿
I'm pissed 😡
Jamal-hal
hearing Alex Pereira go "Pika Piii" was the funniest thing i seen or heard this week.
FINALLY SOMEONE MADE A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT PEREIRA. This man has such an amazing story and how he went from an alcoholic to a double champ in 2 sports, on the way beating one of the greats of combat sports in israel adesanya is just unreal. You the man lionel
Obrigado 🗿🗿
@@lionelrivera_MMA your videos are chama🗿🗿

1 liter of Cachaça in a day is a hell of work man
Unfortunately Adesanya did not understand Alex when he gave Izzy props for rescuing him from Alcoholism. Izzy took it as if Alex was taunting him but all Alex wanted is to express gratitude and keep their sports rivalry alive. I personally think they are both phenomenal fighters equally dangerous.
Poatan is better
I think izzy understood no problem. He just doesn't want to mess with poatan anymore.
Because izzy is too egotistical to truly respect alex like alex does izzy. He may say he does, then he's over here being a hypocrite while also making fun of a kid thinking that's so cool & hard.
His fans are the worst.
@@kudosayala4943I agree he taunts pereiras kid but cried to Strickland over a dog 😂
@mryeeter6053 lmaoo someone said it
As a brazilian I am very grateful for Joe Rogan in how he always say good things about Brazil and brazilian fighters any chance he has. He always praise our jiu jitsu and throw light on brazilian fighters. Cormier too, he hyped Alex a lot in any chance he had. Strickland was very respectful too and even trained with Alex before beat the chinese clown (Adesanya).
I love alex pereira and charle oliveira. Both great fighters from brazil
Brazil is so cool. Futbol and fighting... my people
Joe Rogan just needs to know how to pronounce our names, but he really always gives us flowers. cool dude
Last year april 8th… me and my younger brother, we’re having a great time watching the fight, we were shocked that izzy won… little do i know it’s the last fight we’ve watched together as he passed away accidentally on april 14th the next following day….
And here we are, almost 1 yr later we’re about to witness Alex 1st title defense against Hill as a LHW champ on april 14th….. man i wish my brother is still alive and watch Alex fight together again….. He’s a boxer btw and we’re a fight fan 😎….. i miss u and i luv u lil bro….😢

If Alex’s alcoholism was that bad, maybe the callout saved his life, god works in many ways. He’s entering goat convo if he keeps this up.
The call out did save his life. He genuinely thanked IZZY for motivating him.
As someone that had a similar upbringing to Pereira (zona sul de São Paulo). I can confirm that his alcoholism was bad cuz I did the same thing. Might seem impossible but after daily drinking 80 proof for a while, you will be able to down 800ml to a liter a day easily. Constant drinking from when you wake up to when go to bed will build insane amounts of tolerance. Took some years to get off the sauce but happy I am alive and healthier than i was 10 years ago
@@myfriendniko Happy for you brother !
As a Brazilian, I’m so proud of Alex. For us he’s an idol just like Senna and Ronaldinho once were. Alex came from the dirt, living in extreme poverty, violence, with no prospects, but sports saved him. I hope he serves as an inspiration for people in his position now in Brazil. Fight against the odds and you’ll get there.
Finally, I wish you guys could understand Portuguese to see how humble he is. Extremely respectful and humble. Just a joy to watch his interviews. 🇧🇷💙💚💛
look he's not quite at senna or ronaldinho level yet personally, maybe some day
Wow, that ending was awesome! Alex's shoutout to Israel saving him was just epic. When two top fighters team up, you know it's gonna be one heck of a story. Loved every bit of it!
Alex is a heart-felt gentleman. Not enough of these around, in my view. Three thumbs up, Alex.
pelo que eu estou sabendo, o Alex tá querendo virar parceiro de treino do Izzy...Izzy vai ficar imparavel no peso médio e o Alex no meio pesado
I don't think Pereira is a villain or a bad guy, in many ways, he is the good guy. His story is one of the most inspirational one and I feel fortunate to be able to follow it as it unfolds
Wrong opinion. He was an alcoholic, alcoholics are bad people
@@STANKORachev how dumb are you? IQ of 32?
^Dude shut up, we're all human and we make mistakes. He learned from that and now he's one of the most humble and sincere champions in the UFC. Just go see how Glover talks about how respectful and disciplined he is and how they are like brothers. If you think Izzy is the good guy when he's a dog fiddler, then you are what's wrong with this generation.

He became alcoholic when he was 11, he had to drop school to work as bricklayer to help his parents to get food at home, and he was always surrounded by adults drinking alcohol and they made his mind. He was 11, It’s not his fault.
Hearing Alex say, “Pika Pi,” was everything I didn’t know I needed haha
what amazes me is that Poatan does not waste energy. he does not not throw shots in the air. precision. and his composture is top notch
Alex pereira broke the Chael curse in Jiri fight. That was fucking awesome
🔥
what is the chael curse?
@@tekashi828 Chael Sonnen and his fight predictions. The curse is he pretty much always bets on the loser, so much so people started calling his bets a curse, everybody he bet on would lose. Chael bet on Pereira to win, while everybody thought the already very well estabilished Procházka would win, from what I remember the odds were against Pereira quite a lot in favor to Procházka. Until Pereira rocked his world upside down, hence breaking the curse.

What a stand up guy, could have talked so much shit but decided to share his moment amd try to encourage izzy to come back. Actually quite touching
That is the perfect kind of champion, humbleness, graceful, courteous.... and no trash talking at all.... all his talk is in his fighting and he is a kind person, and a family man...... doesn't get any better than all those traits in a person especially as a champion

It is believed that Alex is related to the goitacazes tribe, the most feared indigenous tribe of Brazil, they were known for their physical attributes, tall and super strong, feared by Europeans colonisers and the rival tribes, its well documented that the goitacazes would eat their enemies bodies after the battle, to gain strength from their souls.

pereira's message to izzy got me emotional af... real men
Their rivalry has benefited both of them, it's good television. Brilliant fighters.
My favorite beef in ufc history. Just the way everything came together. Izzy vs Alex at ufc 300 would have been insane
Alex pereira has gone from “who tf is this guy” to my absolute second favorite ufc fighter after khabib, and Israel adesanya has started getting hated out of left field recently, I think he brought a lot of excitement into the ufc, with incredible highlights and KOs too. He has a lot of iconic moments in his own right, I feel like an adesanya video would be 🔥🔥🔥

Hate him or love him, Adesanya is a future HoF possibly Greatest middle weight of all time AND brought the UFC a monster in Alex Poaton Pereira
He's not, the greatest is undoubtedly Silva
Well said undoubtedly Silva. No question. The dominance is incomparable.
L opinion, fam. Adesanya was a good champ at best, but the middleweight goat is Anderson Silva, my man.
My boy just won The ufc 300 by ko/tko, What a beast.
That was fantastic. I've watched all those fights, and knew the story line, but the way you put it together was fantastic story telling and I had to watch it start to finish.

Nicely done, Lionel. It's always a pleasure to get a notification from your channel. Pereira is an absolute monster, and his left hook will be remembered as one of the most terrifying strikes in MMA history, along with Crocop's left high kick and Hendo's H-Bomb. At the end of all of this, one of the best parts is how these 2 gained respect & appreciation for each other. I hope they train together & can help each other evolve since they were each other's biggest competition. It's awesome to see Alex overcome his addictions. I struggled with substances and overcame it and it's amazing how he was able to overcome that & succeed so much in combat sports.

Great video. I'm new to the MMA so this was interesting for me and has me hype for UFC 300. Great vid in general, production and quality, keep up the grind brotha!
This is one of the best video/documentaries ive seen. Great job man
I'm brazilian and I love Alex Pereira, and I'm way more excited for his light heavyweight career than for middle weight. It's notorious that he could regain ridiculous amounts of weight between weight-in and fight night, he said it himself he would enter the cage at 210-219lb when he was at middleweight (185lb), I personally attribute a lot of his KO power to that, he simply was not in the same weight league as the other guys. Now in light heavyweight the fight should be more balanced making for a much better show
This is a great video the editing is top tier, great job
Bro great video, editing was great your adds were perfect and you didnt hold the video hostage with useless talking. Big fan dude thanks for the work
Adesanya's face when Pereira knocked out Jamahal Hill was priceless. If you look up the word disappointment in the dictionary, that image would be there.
