- In this video, I successfully tested shooting AVS Slugs out of the ATI Nova Liberty at 100 Yards under an Inch. 10 shot groups were just over an inch but very tight. I will be offering these slugs on Ebay under the name AVS slugs.
The length is each slug is
22 grain = 7.71mm
23.2 grain =7.96mm
24.2 grain = 8.26mm
26.1 grain = 8.65mm
As a comparison to the length of JSB 18.1grain = 7.78mm and H&N Baracuda match = 8.69mm
Wow! That is beautiful...Steve you have made the Nova a world winning contender! Great job. Thank you!!!
Very nice shooting them slugs make a big difference and a sweet rifle and accurate 22cal awsome vidio Steve ,
Thank you!
Dang that's great results Steve! I still am in awe over the stocks that you made. Beautiful
Thank you! I do love this best. So comfortable.
Thanks. Just received my Nova Liberty, Yong Heng compressor and additional filter/condensate trap. Learned a lot from your videos. This setup is given me a cost effective way of leaving the powder game after fifty-nine years of sport and competition shooting. I can shoot sixty shots maybe without hours on the reload bench. Thanks.
I'm glad that my videos were helpful. Happy shooting! I now getting into the powder guns. Just bought a Ruger pc9 carbine 9mm I love it but after 200 rounds my shoulder hurts and I hate cleaning the gun.
Please note that my Nova has a stock barrel. I have only modified the power level by drilling transfer port and barrel port. I added a power adjuster and turned up the regulator to somewhere around 2300 psi. The AVS Slugs are now available on EBAY
First time I saw flat base slugs my first thought was they need some cancave in the back, to made the the front of the slug more stable, you have just done what I was thinking. Way to go!!!
Thanks! Great minds think alike
I've tried your slugs, I've bought the second batch... and this is the only slug my gauntlet like
Youve taken an under $300 dollar gun and with a stock (you made) slugs again you made and some power mods and created your own $2600 Daystate rifle. Ive watched the whole series of videos most twice. Eye popping, jaw dropping results.
Thank you David! I hope others will do the same or even more. Its not difficult it just takes some time.
I purchased AVS slugs. Fit and finish are superb. Weight of individual pellet in batch consistency is amazing. As an airgunner, you should give these a try.
John, thank for the feedback. Each slug is looked at for imperfections and every 15th slug is weighed for consistency.
@@AirVelocitySportwow that’s awesome
My 2 Nova Libertys love AVS slugs!!!
your video on nova, made nova my dream
Awesome stuff !! very impressive.
Really good job. And your guns looks amazing.
Thank you!
My dream is to someday produce my own pellets with this impressive quality. Congratulations from Brazil
Congrats! Been seen you from the silence for a while, love what you do ... congrats! I will order some AVS slugs for testing
Thank you!no hope they work well for you.
@@AirVelocitySport I know about slugs...and know that some do work and some do not, just curious about the dish plate.
Another fantastic find , Cheap but nice looking rifle, and accurate especially with slugs.. Watch out FX and Daystate,
Very descriptive study. Thank you. I'm watching you.
Are you going to do a HP flat base test. Thank you.
nova liberty $ 239, this equates to £190 (UK lolly) yet to buy one in the UK costs £400, someone is stopping the nova LIBERTY from being a big seller in the UK..
ps another brilliant educational video , from YONG HENG to budget slug revelations, all good stuff, thanks.
I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe the UK sees the Nova liberty true value. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the videos
Nice work.
I just shot the 23 gr at 50 yards I am very happy very POWERFUL these things are accurate did even have to move my scope 1/4 inch hole to hole with my gun at 50 yards I'll be ordering 5 more bags of these slugs... can't wait to hunt with them very POWERFUL I don't know if it is the shape of them but dam every time shot my target at 50 yards I could see the dirt in the back.. 1/2 plywood the dirt kick up so they are going threw that plywood that is powerful and I haven't even turn up the reg from where I got it set at ty Steve ..i need to make a channel here on CZcams so I can show ever one what I'm talking about lol
Thanks Chris! I'm happy they seem to be good for you. All the best!
I purchased some of the 22-grain slugs and they look very precision and shoot very well out of my ATI Nova Liberty, 5 shots under an inch @ 50 yards and @ 838 fps w/34.5 fpe, and I'm not done even tuning it yet. Priced right, group very well even out of my Gauntlet. I will admit at a lower velocity out of the Gauntlet, but in all fairness, the Gauntlet only has had a 22 ci bottle added to it, and the regulator: which Umarex says is regulated to 1100 psi was upped to an advertised 1250 psi that came with the extended air tank ( regulator pressure not verified yet but is installed) with an average velocity out of five shots @ 697 fps and held around an inch, 5 shots @ 50 yards with a very dirty barrel. Definitely go to E Bay and get some, very good deal and deadly on critters out to a hundred yards, maybe more, with the right shooter and the right gun. The performance is there. They mushroom very well out of my Nova Liberty at its current velocity and will deliver very good energy transfer down range on target. At higher velocities, I would imagine the energy transfer is even better. If anyone wants to get an ATI Nova Liberty, They list for 299$ in synthetic and 349$ in wood BUT if you put in the CODE during your order through ATI you can get 20% off the price of the rifle which means 229$ and 289$. The code is HARDAIR20 and is good till 12/30/2019. These guns are packed with features that are a super deal at this price range and unheard of 5 years ago for under 1000$ or so. I really love mine and am going to get another to gift out. I did ask ATI if they offer it in .25 caliber and was told not YET...so keep your fingers crossed.
Looking good there Stephen. I'll be watching on GTA for when you start selling them.
I just wanted to tell you Steve I had to rebuild my nova all the orings went bad I fixed it and I'm shooting your slugs 23 gr at 915 fps this gun is awesome again I was just shooting my Taipan 25 now I'm shooting both TLC ON THE NOVA SHOOTING LIKE CHAMP AGAIN LOL
Just to let everyone know the AVS slugs are now available on EBAY. Thank you! my ebay SELLER ID is AVS_SLUGS
I can't find it on eBay.
I just checked and they now searchable. Thanks
@@AirVelocitySport it's still doesn't show yet. I don't know why. Hmm however thanks you.
I can't find them either. Can you put a link in your video.
LOL never mind searched again and found them,
You turned me onto AVS for my .22 now all I'm ordering is them in .2193s
Thank you! Glad to hear they are working well for you!
Amazing shooting with those slugs. I think the accuracy is due to that ausom stock you made.. lol👍👍😎👌
Yes, the stock definitely helps. It feels so solid and stable. Thanks
Im not a wood stock lover but damn that stock looks awesome.
Great groups btw really like your style
Thank you! I just try to show everything and not hide poor results as well.
Wow Stephen those slugs are amazingly accurate, I gotta kick myself in the butt for never watching this video. As you probably know since I(Wayne52) bought my Liberty I've bought way to many airguns, they're just so much fun with all the new stuff coming out. Anyway since I recently put a decent duy poppet in it the velocity increased almost 100fps and has really made a difference. Can you believe I've never used the 23 grain Hunter Magnums in this gun yet . . . it won't be long. The way it's shooting my 19.6 grain it's shooting them too fast. Rather than detune the gun the next time out with it I'll be using the 23 grain. I also will be casting more of these soon for a good winters supply.
These look like they may have potential, in other PCPs besides the ATI Nova line of guns. I have a Freedom and Liberty in .22, I also cast my own slugs, but they are too large for the Novas bore. So I will definitely be ordering some to try for sure !
Thank you! I believe the Freedom and liberty have the same barrel
Wow Steve awesome job you are making this gun even better with slugs and now for sale that's awesome can't wait to buy some for you
Thank you!
I just wanted to tell you I received my slugs from you and they were package very well and nice and neat they look awesome ..i didn't shoot them today cuz of work I'll have to wait till the weekend there's a farm down the road from me and the land owner let's me do some pesting around his farm ..he doesn't like Pigeons...so I do him the favor and remove those birds with them slugs 23 gr ...with first batch i shot two of them one was 100 yards away the other was 110 yards away all the other shots were around 30 to 60 yards away with no problem... I thought I was matt dubber for a minute lol anyways ty buddy I'll be buying some more once I'm done with these ...
Wow! That's great. That's some great shooting. If I may ask, how fast are you shooting the 23grains? I hope you get a chance to shoot out to 150yards. If you are doing well at 110 yards I suspect you should be ok at 150 or more. Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to try to go upstate NY to shoot 200 yards. I know my Nova liberty can do it.
@@AirVelocitySport I'm shooting them around 895 to 905 around that at least the chrony is reading that lol
If any of your cameras are usb charged you can get a cheap battery pack from somewhere like Walmart less than $10 .Plug your camera into it and it will last much much longer.I do this with my GoPro and it works great.
Sold I'm ordering a liberty in a week I'll get back with ya on some slugs I would like some to try thanks Stephen your videos are always awesome and very informative
Mighty fine shooting, pilgrim. :)
Man's gotta do what man's gotta do
I hope your checking the fit inside the Mag caus, I had 1 Airgun that was clipping hence the flyer
slugs have changed the game as far as reaching out, rationalized the $ 200 and $ 2000 guns.
Great shooting👍. Just wondering if you have shot out to 200 yards and how did it do? I have a Hatsan at-44. 25 long that I shoot long distance, and it does good but it is heavy and I only get around 10 real good shots. I have thought of putting a regulator but maybe I will just get a nova vista.
I´m just wondering if you Zeroed your Scope in at all
What do I type in search on Ebay for the cup base 22 slugs? Thanks
I will update this video with a note as soon as they are ready for sale. I'm thinking by Thursday. They will be under AVS Slugs
congratulations great video as always! I have the Nova liberty .25 I am very happy!
Question: what telescopic sight has your Nova mounted?
I'm using a discovery vtt 6-24 it pretty good but I'm going to get the Discovery HD 5-25 or the HD/34 6-30
@@AirVelocitySport 👍
It would be great a Review of that telescopic sight!
What's the barrel twist rate? Have you upgraded to a slug barrel?
i watch them quite a few times , LOL , great video and slugz ,,,,,,my friend !!! AWESOME SHOOTING !!!!!!! I AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON A WAY TO SHOOT ARROWS FROM MY NOVA FREEDOM.BEEN THINKING OF MAYBE PVC PIPE FOR ARROWS LIKE THE GERMAN GUY SHOWS ,IT WILL FIT ON THE BARREL ,IT SHOOTS !!! I ALSO BEEN SHOOTING BAMBU RODS THAT WEIGH ABOUT 150 GRAINS !!! AWESOME STUFF ! I ALSO INVENTED A WAY TO PUT MY 40 CAL BLOWGUN ON DIFFERENT AIR RIFLES AND USE MY REVOLVING 8 SHOT BLOW GUN CHAMBER TO GET FAST SHOTS WITHOUT HAVING TO SINGLE LOAD OR TAKE OFF BLOWGUN JUST TO LOAD ,SENDS THEM 40 CAL DART VERY VERY VERY FAST ! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SHOOT ARROWS FROM THIS REAL BAD ! WHEN I GOT A FEW 1000 TO PLAY WITH I WILL GET THIS PELLET MAKER ALSO ,I GOT SO MANY IDEAS !
Hi! Where can I buy this form of presslug? I am from Brazil.
A restrictor on the regulator will make the speed more even on a high powered regulated gun, Robert Lane have
videos here on YT that explains it very well.
Great shooting!
Hans contact me @ avsslugs@gmail.com for shipping info.
@@AirVelocitySport Had a nice time in the sauna, hence the delay but now you've got mail...
Would like to try these in my Hatsan Nova. Its shooting 25.39 JSB Monsters at 38 FPE. Which of you slugs would you recommend I try?
I would recommend the 22 grain at 885fps would produce 38fpe the heavier 23.2 or 24 grain might not be got fast enough to stabilize
Where did you buy your slug die from. I thought about making my own. Also, good for you! You have definitely put your time in to get there great results.
Its a Corbin
I want it also.
Wow !
I seen your other video where you made a stock for your nova freedom. Did you make this nova freedom also?
Yes, I made three different styles of stocks for the liberty.
Great video!!! I'm wondering if you could take a day with your favorite slug and run from like 900 to 950 by 10fps increments to see what the groups do, your so dam real you have our respect!!! :-) :-) :-)
Thank you! You do have a good point. You probably noticed that the best group with the 26 grains was around 889fps. I will try to do a test like that. I always try to show all the results even if they are not good. Thanks again!
@@AirVelocitySport wind is just reality lol. in my mind wind is not a factor it's just a constant like a heart beat thumping in the scope lol :-) :-) I've also wondered about painting them or tumbling with Molly ;-)
I'm thinking about a new toy and wanted to know if you have any thoughts on the puncher pro in 25 cal it seems like all the videos on finding on CZcams or from other countries and I can't understand a word they're saying any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated
The KralArms guns are pretty good and priced in the mid range. My puncher Jumbo is pretty damn good but my poppet stem broke and had to be fix by Troy at Annihilator Airguns. I'm not sure if Kral addressed the issue with the poppet stem. The Jumbo is a great high power option in .25 so I would think so is the puncher pro. I personally like the bottle as I get 40 high power shots before refilling. Plus the bottle is a 250 bar fill pressure versus 200 bar.
recommendations for Gauntlet 2 .25 caliber ?
User Slug 218 or 217? Cylinder type CZ. Walther ...?
Great information again. Do they shoot well out of the Jumbo?
I do not know but there are various people who will be trying these slugs in different guns
@@AirVelocitySport thank you for the reply and keep the great videos coming.
Stephen great job and so much hard work. You probably noticed already but FX just came out with a copy and call them FX hybrid slugs. Too bad you didn't patent your idea Internationally.
Have you tried these in any other gun? I would like to try them in an Umarex Gauntlet .22 what are your thoughts,
I know the 28 grain 25 caliber slugs work very well in the Guanlet. I received some feedback on eBay. Not sure how they perform in the Guanlet .22
Quick question. Any idea that fit in the Hatsan 22 clip? Great video. Very inspiring. Shoot Straight stay blessed.👍🇺🇸✌
I will measure them and post it on eBay selling page. I know the 22,23 and 24 will but not sure if the 26 grain will. Again, I will have the exact size on eBay page
@@AirVelocitySport Thank you so much for your reply. I am seriously interested. I have Hatsan bullboss that is fully tuned and with a regulator.. I would like to try them in. Thanks for your info. I like to know if slug work with lw barrel? 6.35 cal. Thanks
I just started making .25 cal and they well in cz, Kral and lothar Walther barrels so far. I will be offering them on my web site AVSSLUGS.com in two weeks.
@@AirVelocitySport thanks for your news. Cannot wait to got one
What all cal do you have? You think the Average would shoot them good?
.22 yes, I believe the Avenger and liberty are basically sourced from the same manufacturer
what velocity your shots..?
Sir,Now very good group no flayer
Do you think slugs will shoot better with Polygon unchoke barrel?
I think they do because Daystate Red Wolf has Polygon barrel and shoot these slugs very well
thats fantastic..... if only the velocity could stay around the 920-950 range, you will be getting sub moa groups all day long. great work though
Sorry to bother you but did you move your reg setting at all or you just kept it where it's at ...and what is your reg set at ..cause im about to buy some 24 gr and 26 gr
Hey Chris, yes, my reg is set around 2400 psi or so plus my hammer spring is nearly maxed but not totally. Stock hammer spring and stock valve spring. All Ports drilled to 3/16". Fill to 3700 psi and I get about 25 solid shots at 48fpe
I think 23 grain is a sweet spot
@@AirVelocitySport ok I'll get some of those too then lol ..cuz I have my reg set at 3/16 ccw and two 1/8" washer on hammer spring plus I took one of the original washer out of three that come with the gun and the barrel is drilled 3/16 also I can't wait to shoot these things of course I'll be using these SLUGS for hunting

Awesome video. I like these slugs, do you ship to South Africa?
I could but the shipping does not make it cost efficient.

do you have molds for these bullets or made purchases?
No molds
You did an amazing job there mate.its unbelievable achievement with entry level pcp.this gun take my heart away.how many shots we can get from 23 grn slug @ 250 bar.
Thank you! I glad we all have a great gun at a fair price.
@@AirVelocitySport plz give me information about those 23 grn slugs.how much shots from 250 bar fill @ 900 fps.
That depends on your tune. Not every time is the same. But I get about 27 solid shots from 3625 or 250 bar fill shot 23 grain 920 fps
Hi. Would perform " Boat tail " slugs well too ????? I guess the Ballistic Coefficient is even better!
Can you try those if you pick up some of those ?? Or made them by your self . Great vid sir !!
Yes, you are correct. The boat has a better BC but I have tried them in the Nova. The 28 grain boat even with 49fpe on this gun could not shoot them well. I believe it has something to do with base.
@@AirVelocitySport Thanks sir, you doing well what you doing !!
Just to add what kind of cost for a stock similar to yours for the liberty
Last year when I started looking for a custom stock to buy I was quoted anywhere from $850 to $1500 for a custom Sporter stock. Just way too much for me. There is someone who is making custom stocks and I think complete guns. I have to look back on my emails to find him. I'll let you know when I find his contact info. He's a really nice guy.
Have you figured out the BC of the .22 slugs yet?
Yes. 23.2 grain slugs are .112 the 26.1 are .091 I will have a video out soon as I just re tested all 4 weights today
Are you sure you didn't get the numbers backwards?
No, the lighter slugs had a higher BC. I will put out a video in a day or two on BC, mushroom, and sub MOA 10 shot group
Hey did you change the barrel in order to shoot slugs?
No, this is the stock barrel from nova

How much would it take to get one those stocks made for me
I would love to offer the stocks but it just takes way too work and time. Took a few weeks of working almost every other day to complete. I will let you know if I can find a way t make them at a reasonable price.
@@AirVelocitySport look at those router jigs to copy gun stocks pretty awesome
Yes, I have seen them. It just that they make so much dust. I still have walnut dust in my house from the last stock. I may have to rent a shop to make stocks.
I’m really interested in buying your slugs, are you still manufacturing them?
@@kylejacobs1682 yes, www.AVSslugs.com
DO YOU SEE THE HOLE IN 24GR HP /CUP BASE ? IMAGINE WHILE FORMING THERE IS A SMALL BB 2-4 MM PRESSED IN HOLE ,OR A METAL SPIKE LIKE THE H N N HORNETS !
Yes, that will make the initial penetration much greater. Inhave my .25 cal being retooled. That will be my next project. Thanks for the input.
I just bought some of the 20 grain AVS slugs about to use them in my kral puncher breaker I have a CZcams channel that has over 200 subscribers so I will be doing a review video

PLEASE next time u are at the range, shoot some pellets side by side for comparison. a couple weeks ago i thought u would be the perfect one to do an unbiased test. but now that u are selling these, that might not happen. try some different pellets like the jsb monsters and some heavy H&N. please. thanks. i dont expect pellets to be as good but it would not suprise me.
Check my first video. I said that h&n barracudas are great out to 50 yards but out to 100 slugs are better. Even though im selling them does not mean I will twist the truth. I can not be more honest than that. Slugs are not for everyone. They are for hunters who shoot long distance in windy conditions. I have shot jsb, h&n and Friedman out to 100 yards. None could group better than 2.5" but at 50 yards I put 5 in one hole.
Air Velocity Sport
i didnt mean you would be biased. just that a good video shooting both with pellet groups following up directly after the slugs would be awesome. just worried it might not happen. would love to see it. thanks. and if u do, i appreciate your time. congrats on your slug success.
Are you going to be selling them in 25 caliber
Today I tested my .254 slugs in my Kalibrgun Cricket. They were excellent. I have to confirm with more testing but it looks promising. My regulator in my Cricket is a bit wacky so I through my 10 shot 100 yard groups off a little. 7 slugs in the same hole and 3 about 3/4" away from the grouping. The regulator spiked on me going from 895 fps to 945 fps which threw my grouping off.
Nice video and nice shooting. However, there is one thing I don't get... Why use a Target that has no "cross lines" on it? There is no way in hell you are getting better results without lines, than you would, if your target has lines on it so you can line up the reticle... Just saying.: )
I will try that next time. I did shoot a sub MOA 10 shot group in my last video. Maybe this time I'll do 1/2 MOA
Como Fasso pra comprar uma forma dessa pra mim
