- In this video I will discuss and install Duy's replacement parts for the ATI Nova Liberty. Duy has created a steel transfer port, brass and stainless steel valves with more power, Externally adjustable hammer spring tension-er and a power plenum which can produce well aboue 70 FPE in .22 caliber. Just wanted to say hi Steve, i'm still air gunning. Got a plenum from Duy and needed a refresher course, thanks very much for all your knowledge.
I smoothed the flow of air in the valve with a Dremel and a diamond bit. I made the flow so fluid that just doing that alone got an additional 8 FPE. Then I opened the transfer point..3/16” and slightly increased the power wheel diameter inside for the high setting. Only slightly mind you...and picked up an additional 4 FPE. Yes sir brother... it all adds up! Still I frequently use the low power setting. Not messing with the power wheel is a very good idea and makes the gun more reliable and safer for the users. Brother I/we/the airgun community appreciate everything you share with us. You and guys like Duy are a very important part of our world of shooting and airguns and I thank you for what you do with all my heart. You guys rock! Thank you and God bless. The Avenger isn’t the same as the Liberty but it is close relatively speaking. I always wanted a .25 Liberty and settled for the Avenger...not complaining for the money. I have had so much more issues with 2K$+ airguns than these Chinese made airguns💯. Not complaining for the money💯.

Thank you for what you share with us brother. I always learn something when watching your videos. I’m not as gifted as Dark Charisma but you and both were getting power levels sufficient or slugs long ago. I don’t want to loose the low power setting on any of my Liberty’s really. I find it very useful at time while doing pesting. I wish o knew how to restrict the lower power setting even more to say maybe 10-12 FPE for pesting inside barns and not blow holes in their roof😂🙏

I'm from Brazil, one of the reasons I bought this gun was because of your videos, it really is very good, mine is already a one year old and it's just works fine. I've made several changes following your videos exactly, and since the FX they launched the Power Plenum I was wondering how it was inside and if it would be possible to make this gun. Seeing in your video how simple it looks I will see if I can adapt a pump filter for those smaller ones and make one, thanks again for always sharing.

I have all of the parts avs just talked about except for the plenum. I'm getting about 47 fpe with a 30 grain cast slug. Duy does great work and stands behind his parts even when I screwed up the valve by burnishing it with fine valve lapping compound. He's a real stand up guy and will do you right. Saving up for the plenum for a real kick butt rifle.
By the way, I'm getting 50 for with some 26 grain age slugs with the same tune.
I hate Auto correct 😡 I typed in 50 fpe and it changed it to for. I'm not ⛳??? 🤪
Just to let people know. Right now Duy isn't taking any orders. Not sure how long it will be until he does again.
I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. You always educate in depth and make it easy for us to follow. I just received my Nova Vista Alpha .25 (I think it's the same as the liberty just different name) can't wait to see what this baby can do :) I'll do some tinkering in the future just waiting for more videos on the .25 and to see if I can get those parts here in South Africa. Keep up the great work we appreciate it very much.

i often thought , how it will affect shot count on my NOVA FREEDOM if i super modify my rifle . with 50 - 60 pumps ,i fill it 3000 to 3650psi . i been pumping twenty times after each 10 shot clip worth to keep at its awesome sweet spot , this way its not as hard on the pumping mech. its been well over 2 years ,i havent had any problems so far .i keep it well oiled with silicone oil and well lube with silicone plumbers or electricians grease ! . i get 17 awesome high power shots or 25 or so low power shots from a complete fill . i guess it will drop when i mod it .but thats ok .thank you for all you do my brother ,your videos are second to no one on these fine shooting machines ! to think NOVA FREEDOM WAS 2018 AIR RIFLE OF THE YEAR ,BLOWS MY MIND ! ...!

how do you get 56 foot-pounds from the liberty?can you share the details? like the reg pressure and the hammer spring etc
@@hamdanmarwat9594 I had a shop machine a bigger plenum, turned the regulator up to approx 2450, opened and ported everything else with a Dremel and then polished and smoothed out the flow of air, then used slugs. Oh changed the hammer spring also and made it adjustable with parts from a nova freedom I bought for 100$ from ati. No more dual High and Low power just 1 power selection knob and made of 304 LSS. The original won’t work and will blow apart if drilled and ported. Don’t drill the original! Make your own from steel. Follow Steve’s instructions and just get the parts from Duy. Yours will turn out better than mine if you do. I’m done with mine and happy. I have the .25 Avenger now and couldn’t be more happy with it. Seldom even use the .22 anymore but she’s a keeper.

Excellent video Stephen !!! I go by Wayne52 on GTA and AGN and have been following all your stuff. I remember when you first started out making those great slugs of yours. I do have a Duy poppet in my wood stocked Liberty which made a considerable improvement in velocity and energy alone plus no more leaky poppet anymore. I also have the Avenger in .25 now too, wow what a fantastic gun it is for the price.
Hello Wayne, yes, I have see you there on GTA. I love the liberty too. I just finished modifications on my Avenger .25 it was shooting 54 for out of the box and very accurate. I got it shooting 63fpe with 36 grain .254 9 shots sub MOA at 100 yards. I pulled one shot. I will have a video out on the modifications and showing 100 yard shooting. All the best see you on GTA
Jesus Christ that is crazy Steve that is some power my friend that is just wow I haven't shot my nova in a while but man this makes me want to get all this stuff for my nova that's awesome I got mine set to shoot your 23 gr avs slugs at 910 fps very accurate to 50 .. 75.. 100 ..easy yards and I'm also shooting the 22 gr fx slugs at 915 ish pretty good .. alots of info in this video thanks for sharing buddy bsafe out there in this crazy time we live in oh yea I also had to get the captain o rings cuz when I first started airgunning I didn't know that you had to use silicone lubes back when I first started doing this so all my orings cracked but I replaced them and it's good again thanks for the video sorry for the long comment oh yea the 34 gr and 32 for the 25 cal impact shot very accurate I'm planning on buying more I was shooting them at a 1020 fps lol both them but they shot best at 965 and 940 fps ok enough rambling

Even though there have been some new releases of sub $300 PCP's the Liberty still holds a place on my wall also Stephen. I wish I had the woodworking skills you possess because you take that Liberty to the next level. This is was an awesome and very informative production. Duy has got this ole boy all figured out with the high octane additives, so to speak😉

This gun is so good SMK have discontinued it in the UK. It makes alot of very expensive rifles look bad. I for one am disappointed beyond belief.

I haven’t been getting your video for sometime now, (uTube hates guns) glade to see you. You have gotten so good with your DIY videos. Ever thought of tuning air guns like Hajimoto? I seen a video by him yesterday shooting AVS slugs. Still haven’t tried your slugs yet only NSA but your are next. Great video on this Thanksgiving Day for me. I’ll be binge watching to catch up. wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! have you noticed , the new .22 umarex origins pcp look to be the same platform as these types ? and it has a special feature , Pre-Pressurized air tank that reduces the number of pumps required to fill the tank to full pressure. hajimoto did an awesome vid on it ! i discovered this at academy sports a while back !

You know I have seen the talking heads so often on the different forums saying that you loose air space with a Reg, and therefore reduce the shot count. Well, not really. As you gain more useable shots in a regulated set-up, More un-useable shots don't interest me. More useable/accurate shots at range do. ;
Great stuff! A pressure gauge on the plenum would be a nice way to keep track of the regulator pressure. 😊

Husband and I ordered slugs from you on Ebay... we shot them yesterday in both our Crown Cont 700mm slug liner and in both our Impact .22 MKII with PP's & 700 mm slug liners...
Pushing 62ftlbs in the crown cont's and 72 and 74ftlbs in the Impacts.
Omfg is all I can say in all 4 guns we was shooting consistently in the .7 to .8 MOA ten shot groups..
Over 20x 10 shot groups only 3 of the was over 1 minute (around 1.25moa) and 17 groups under 1 moa with the smallest being .64 ctc..
They are shooting at .1 to .2 moa smaller average group then anything else.
We are hugely impressed with them. We need to make another order and we take them out to 200 and 300 and see what they can do and if 100y is any indication then 1.5ish moa at 300y... that would be a solid 3/4 inch smaller groups at 300 then the 28.5 NSAs that they all love so damn much.
Wow! I'm glad to hear that they are working well for you. I have impact coming in a week .22 .25 and .30. I will be doing extensive testing in the 700mm superior liner.

I have one of Duy's poppets and want to use a spring lighter than the oem version. Were these tapered springs ones you received from Duy or did you source them from somewhere else? I'd like to acquire one similar for myself. Also, are the springs held in place by a c-clip like the factory spring or it just pretty much a press fit?
These valve spring are from Duy and they are press fit but they are on there pretty good.
Great video I have watched the avenger video with teardown and mods and wanted to ask you if you could do a similar video with Behemoth AKA Avenger Bull pup I haven't seen a single tear down video of the stock which Im sure needs work or wood and you the best man for the job!!! Thanks 👍
this trigger that you made which thickness of the hole that rises the air, and where the technician seals the hole has that depth, from the beginning to the end of the hole?
Friend, the regulator of this rifle has a problem, it goes up with the pressure of the cylinder, I put a pressure gauge on mine and I found that, but I solved this problem. It is now set to 140 bar.

Do you know if a .25 caliber barrel is available in the aftermarket that fits in the Liberty without major mods? The Seneca Aspen comes in .25 cal but I can't find if the barrels are interchangeable? Does the Seneca .25 cal barrel fit? Thanks for your time!
I have not see a .25 cal barrel and probe set for the liberty yet. Im going to ask DUY if he can make it available. All the best
I'm trying to find where you say how large you drilled the barrel port and I can't seem to find it. To confirm, I believe you have in the past stated that you increased the 22 caliber to 3/16".
My Liberty’s are perfect the way I have them set up and still backyard friendly. The .25 Avenger on the other hand is not by any means safe in my backyard and is used for hunting. Duy’s power plenum may fit the Avenger. If it would, would that increase my shot count and consistency? The consistency is great as is but there’s always room for improvement. Shot count at the moment is about 45-50 shots w/26.8 grain NSA slugs reg @ 23-2400 psi @ 935 FPS w/ hammer spring @ max.

2 that chamber u showed would that increese the fps/Fpe?? if so by how much, seems the heaviest pellet a .177 can muster is around 16 Gr/ 18 Gr for the JGB diablo beast and 8 Gr whit the Gamo leathal seems the best for penetrating stuff, but im new its just for my reseach on internet.
3 can u recomend me a PcP rifel i have looked at the GAMO GX-40 MB and the HATSAN HERCULES rated from factory at 1650+ for the gamo whit the Red flight pellets and 1450 for the HATSAN i know they shoot whit rigged setup to get most numbers but it seems the hatsan soots close to numbers whit 8gr pellets.
So i wanna modifi if i can get more power, so have that in mind.

Yes, exactly correct. Just use a drill bit large enough to pass without damaging the threads
Put my gun back together after drilling out the barrel port, filled the gun with about 3000 psi and the fill valve now leaks. Any videos or suggestions how to fix this?
Do they have any parts for the nova freedom? I have a .22 Nova Freedom. I wonder if there is a method to make Baracuda pellets run at the magical 870 to 920 fps range. Right now I only get 730 fps avg. From 2850 to 2100 psi on high. I have the spring 1/2 turn out.
Make the valve a bigger size and make a poppet with a thinner stem.
Thanks for all you help with my amazing Liberty’s. I do have a question about a .177 that has loading issues with the magazine. It is quick to flip a pellet and tries to feed 2 with one stroke of the lever. I can’t get it to stop. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. You rock my Liberty’s to greatness and I love them all. Try the Avenger aka Liberty MK2 in .25. It will blow your mind. Take care.
Hey Heath, thank you for the kind words. Yes, I have been shooting my Avenger in .25 cal for a few weeks now. 2.75" 8 shot group at 100 yards with slugs right out of the box. I didn't even clean the barrel. By the way, .2503 slugs are no good at 100 yards but the .254 frost try dirty barrel made 2.75" 8 shot group. Shoots pellets great as well
As for the double loading, that's a bit tricky. I had that problem because I was going to slow on the side lever. As soon as I speed up the action of pulling back then cocking forward in one non stop motion it stopped double loading.

How readily are the parts available, I can't get my rifle above 600 fps in 177, I'm in the UK, but could do with some advice.
Which of these components would fit the Air Venturi Avenger 0.25 and boost its performance?
I recently sent back my new ATI Nove Liberty to American Tactical. With less than 150 pellets shot thru it. I hooked it up to my new Nomad 2 compressor but it would not accept air. Nomad and probe were working just fine. American was helpful over the phone but all suggestions failed. They had me ship it back for repair but soon recanted on that and said replacement with a new one was my only fix. I'm now waiting for the supply chain to fill backorders or maybe request a refund. Depending on that outcome I await a new gun and the ability to send it off to Duy for a proper rebuild. Stay tuned for an update.

I have had my new .22 cal. Liberty over a year.It came without a fill probe. I just got a fill probe about a week or so ago that works. So I air it up and over night all the air leaked out of it. So I have a new Liberty out of warranty,of course. That leaks like a sieve. Since I myself will have to tear it down to try and find the leak I might as well install or do some mods.. I think doing mods.to help efficiency of the factory configuration. Like metal power adj.knob and drill the transfer port to start with. Or should I just get a kit and do it it all at once? I will probably not be shooting over 75 yds.

Sorry to hear about the leaks. But if you like the gun then I would just get the kit and do it all at once. I have found it's cheaper and more satisfying not to modify peace meal. I personally love the gun and would do it all at once. Once your liberty stops leaking and performs like a champ you will be happy. Just my opinion.

i got me some permanent markers , and i did an awesome camo pattern on the big white nova liberty ,in my case nova freedom letters , looks way more cooler now !now for making you own H&N HORNETS , DRILL A PERFECTFULLY CENTERED HOLE THRU THE SLUG AND SCREW IN A SMALL STEEL SCREW FROM THE BACK ,PLAY AROUND WITH SIZES AND LENTHS AND DIFFERENT METALS TOO ! THEY WORK GREAT , UNLIKE H&N 'S ,WHEN THESE HIT SOMETHING ,THEY SCREW THEMSELVES INTO YOUR TARGET , because pellets are spinning to the right when shot , if you turn a screw into something clockwise it screws in right ? ,LESS CHANCE OF RICHOCHET OR SKIMMING OFF LOL . !....... ALSO PUT A .177 OR SMALLER METAL BALL IN THE TOP HOLE OF SLUG ,,,,,,,,,,,AND IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SOME NOISE , FILL THE TOP HOLE WITH ARMSTRONG MIXTURE !!!! LOL ..... if you want H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme pellets ,put different size philips bit in a soldering iron and press into pellet ,if you dont want the heat , just use a screwdriver and do it gently and carefully ,something you are accustomed to right ? lol .i invented these things decades ago !
I raised the regulator pressure from 900 bar to 140 by following the Owners manual but its leaking therefore, please do the reparing review of .177Aventuri Avenger.

So much to do, so many possibilities. How do you check the regulator setting?
Duy provides a gauge for the plenum. I just shot two shot strings to find where it falls off the regulator set point.

@@AirVelocitySport its been over 2 years , 1000's of assorted pellets and slugs from 14.3 to 40gr that i have shot from the freedom . i keep it well oil and lubed . i use 100% silicone oil , gel , and grease . go to Lowes or home depot , get the electricians gel in a small plastic container , looks like a pellet tin , and the plumbers grease comes in a tube ! . I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT SO FAR ! to make sure it stays well lubed i lube it before and after each shooting session , and i always keep about 1000 to 1500 or so PSI in tank while not in use ! also ,to keep the heat down on the internal seals ,i top it off with 20 pumps after each 10 shots !
I'm back I have small leak where the regular 0rings are at they are white orings there are 3 of them I bought the captain orings but can't seem to find the ones that go there or figure out which ones they are 🤔
brother ,you are absolutely incredible ,this thing with 40 gr slugs will now drop a deer within 25 yards or so ,and def a pig for sure WOW ! IM NOT SAYING GO HUNT DEER ,IM SAYING IN A SURVIVAL SITUATION WHERE THATS ALL YOU GOT ,THIS WILL DO THE JOB !!!! ............. IMAGINE THE PENETRATING POWER OF A H&N HORNET PELLET ,GAIN WOW !!!!! .....IMAGINE HAVING THIS KIND OF POWER IN THE FIELD WITH MY NOVA FREEDOM AND NEVER RUNNING OUT OF AIR ......so you should get 14 -1500 fps with lighter 14.3 Crossman hollow point pellets , if you set it all the way up right ?
That larger plenum from Duy really makes a ton of power. I could probably shot a 18 grain slug around 1300 fps but it may not stabilize. I may try that in the future just for the hell of it.

I wonder how much of this is going to be the same as the avenger. It almost seems like they're the same gun but the avengers just the newer version with everything externally

Yes, I have been contemplating on getting the avenger in 22. I have not pulled the trigger yet. I am just waiting on aftermarket parts and see what one can really do with that beast.

Brian I have beer shooting the avenger now for a few weeks. There are many similarities but things have changed enough to see that it's the same manufacturer but new updated tooling.

The short answer is yes. The crown is the last point of contact with the slug/pellet. Does not matter what propels then projectile.

My ATI Liberty still leaks and is just sitting around collecting dust. Like I said many moons ago ATI refused to fix it. I can no longer tear into it myself. I would like to send it off someplace t o get it repaired.

Kindly make a video of barrel change of nova liberty from. 22 to. 177. I have heard that we can change its barrel like fx impact.
If the Barrel outer diameter is the same then it should be as easy as just swapping them. I image the .177 and .22 transfer hole is the same diameter.

Hey Henry, in cup base the 46 grain are .435" so 44 grain and lighter should be ok. By the way, I have all the lengths for each slugs on my website www.AVSslugs.com if you go with hollow base then it will be more like a 40 grain because they run longer for the same weight than the cup base. The flat base run shorter.

Thank you for the kind words. I generally really enjoy airguns and talking to people about it. I gave the bull pup idea some thought. Like linking the trigger which should not be that hard buti just don t have the machinery to make that happen. When I grow up I'm going to buy a metal lathe just can't afford it now.

My nova leaks air just sitting.. Where should I look first?
One of mine did the same thing. First I tried the bleed valve with soapy water no luck then I figured it might be the poppet. Yup, it was the poppet. I put thick soapy water over the muzzle and it was blowing bubbles.
Check the fill port. Leave your fill probe in the gun after filling and then with just a touch of soapy water, touch it. If the o-ring for the fill valve...which is a ball and o-ring, if it is worn...usually from filling too fast and creating heat which can and will damage it...tends to leak. Good news is that after drawing all the air from the cylinder, it is a very easy fix and can sometimes be done just by flipping the o-ring. Hope this helps.
@@heathhalfhill6867 Thanks, It fixed itself.. I bled all the air out, cocked the hammer and filled it.. Fired it several times and refilled it. Has not leaked since..
