I personally don't have a colon anymore
The next car you redo should be a Mazda AZ off-road. And then you can have a battle with moogs jimny
To Japan for parts! That was super dope.
Anytime you guys need anything, I can get it and send it to you, absolutely no problem. I live in the Osaka, Kyoto, Suzuka area of Japan.
you should build your own car from the ground up
The memories you guys build are amazing the story, the car, the legends.
This is excellent. Not just the Midget mods but the trip to Japan. That grab a camera and go style reminds me of old MCM. This was really great to watch.
Old but also, only new MCM could do this. Think about it. They have a major film crew that wants to use one of their cars for a car commercial for one of their sponsors, so they have to call friends they have made literally another country and go fly over there, to pull together all the parts.... It's only by being great guys to everyone around them that all these people are willing to work with him for them to do this Looney tunes thing. Lol
I love it.
@@TravisFabel I didn't really mean the whole trip thing (though thats cool too). More the whole vibe of it. The "we're off to Japan for parts" now could easily have been "we're off to supercheap" from years back.
I knew it would be a great episode when they said the first step is to jack up your car.
I almost got my Maaaaaaaaaaad T-shirt on in appreciation. If it still fitted...
@@TravisFabel Not really, Marty once jumped on a plane to the UK JUST to pick up a Supercharger for Moog's Mini.
When they are taking apart the engine you can see the T&T3 car through a gap in the fence, I think they did this on their bigger trip for that.
This for me personally is one of the best things you’ve ever done. Because it’s different
Definitely, this is IT 😊 DIFFERENT NUGGETS ARE BEST
Agree, PEAK MCM
You know what? This will decimate all, after, you put about fifteen grand in it or more. If we have to, overnight parts from Japan.
That title will always be Miss Daisy.
@@TravisFabel You forgot it was the hyphenated "Overnight parts from Ja-pan."
The quick Japan trip was mind blowing guys, didn’t see that coming. Wouldn’t mind watching a longer episode, specially in this case, it was AWESOME ❤
I know right! Imagine being able to fly to Japan and buy parts cause you cant wait for shipping
Yep this is a level I would love to be at in life. Lol. The guys are enjoying life to the fullest. Well deserved as well.
Well this episode took a huge detour, I wasn't expecting that... 👍👍
Fun fact: people who are under 5 foot just call this a Daihatsu Average
Keeping that power to weight ratio 😉😁
What are the newborns calling it? Daihatsu Monster?
@@marjoh669 Daihatsu Dad
🤣I'm not under 5' just a smigen over, but I was "average"ish height when I lived in Asia, I still stood out like a sore thumb, but red hair, blue eye's and a severe melanin deficiency will do that🤣
People under 4 foot call it a monster truck: fun fact
Don't we all wish we could have a buddy in Japan to send parts to for us to come collect when we like?!?! Talk about a prime setup. That dude is awesome. 🤘🏻
im so glad to be seeing classic MCM content. turboing an old car, driving and buying one in Japan. the stuff ive been missing
I was not expecting this episode, but wow. I'm flabbergasted, this is amazing. The fact it all fits up, your short trip to Japan and then heading home with all the parts. One of your best episodes ever.
Daihatsu lego's.
That pipe off the exhaust reminds me of how heat works in many small piston engine aircraft. So cool to see how the engineers overcame various obstacles!
ea81 from a subaru brumby/ brat is the same. believe its an aircraft engine also
I'm so proud of you guys , have been watching for years to see how far you've come staying true to yourselves. To be able to just jump on a plane and go get it right then haha awesome. Stay happy dudes dream big
Hopping on a plane to Japan is staying true? 🤔
That exactly!
@@AMLagonda they're still doing what they love = staying true to yourself🤷♂️
When sca is involved, money is no object
@@AMLagonda For Aussies? Sort of, yes.
What a fantastic episode and project, I really hope the Tommykaira at 15:33 is yours and will be on its way to Australia at some point 😍.
I was wondering what that was, some mad japanese dudes really thought: "What if Porsche made a superkei-car?"
Amazing car with a brand that has incredible history in the tuning scene. Wish they got more of it on footage.
I wonder if that is Available under SEVS. Otherwise that can only be brought in as Race only car.
It's ours. Yes it's coming to Australia. Will be doing a full resto series on it.
That's fantastic, you have a new subscriber (in the UK) 👍.
Flying to Japan for parts is pretty freakin cool! 😁
Nick Robinson would be proud.
Man the old school mcm energy in this video was AWESOME! cant wait for the next episode on this little D
Impromptu trip to Japan made me grin from ear to ear. You guys are awesome!
Now that's what I call a proper episode! It has been a long time since you guys made me stuck to an episode of yours! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
This may have to go to my top 10 best ever MCM projects ever! I cant wait to see the next episode, well done fellas.
Sport bike engine would be pretty sweet too 👀👀
This might be my favourite episode yet - thank you for going back to your roots every now and then and doing cool old Japanese stuff like this!
This is so good!! I never thought I'd be this excited for a midget haha can't wait for the next episode!! Also hanging out to see the end of the levorg build!! Keep up the good work lads !! 🤘😎
I was expecting a turbo 'busa motor, I hope that's the next stop 😁
Same here! Recipe is a big bike motor.
We need to try and keep it road legal here for NSW which means bike motor is out 😢
@@mightycarmods ahhhh, makes sense then. Didn't know that. Also, using a motor you already had is a big win too.
I wanted to go to bed. Then McM uploads.. guess I'll stay up a little longer.
Thanks for all the years of consistently awesome content hitting my eyeballs.
Greetings from the Netherlands.
Best offroading channnel on youtube
Sweet dreams when you get there
FAC
The song from 11:47 is awesome! "My car goes chitty chitty bang bang" 😂🤣 How good is it that you two can just jump on a plane and do an emergency trip to Japan to grab just what you need! You guys are truly living the dream.👍
Did you not see the video where they made this song originally and then remixed it with a local rapper?
@@DaveDoes_ Maybe I missed that although I can remember Moog singing 'my car goes pshhht' once for a short while.....I think that was when they turboed Marty's Kei truck. Was that it?
I'd honestly have watched a whole 3 part series on just the mini trip to Japan, some disrespected Japanese nose, or even just seeing you guys in an izakaya after the days work is done. But this is so awesome still, I can't wait!
There's 3 turbos and temples already 🤔
Love it guys! Thank you for bringing us along your mad crazy and obscure adventures
Well that was an unexpected twist of events. Certainly can't wait to see how it ends up!
You see how much they have learned over the years. Preventative work, no specialist, and very knowledgeable. I know my opinion doesn't matter, but I am very proud of them. Love the episode!
I finished watching this episode and had a massive smile on my face. This one just made me happy. Thanks for brightening up and otherwise dreary Monday.
Hyped for more kei content!
The parts hunt in Japan was epic. Reminded me of the old days! :)
I have been watching you guys for a looong time and this episode is one of the best I've seen. This is truly grassroots hot rodding at its finest. Well done mates!! Can't wait for the next episode.
scrolling through my subscriptions and mighty mods are the only major channel that isn't taking cheap cars off the market and making videos about them for clout. they can afford to do cool stuff so they do it and i appreciate that rather than pinching economy cars off marketplace that someone else might be in need of. as the channel got bigger so did the projects and they don't pretend to be poor n destroy budget vehicles. THANK YOU
The exhaust hose is probably a preheater to help get things up to OT, awesome video dudeZ!
Or it's some kind of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system to help improve fuel economy.
If the exhaust is blocked off from it and it's just connected to it with a dead end, it's likely a preheater. They used to use these on the cars in the US back in the 1970s and early '80s... Often the hose was pretty short because it just had to go from the top of the exhaust manifold heat shield to the bottom of the intake snorkel on the v8s.
@@Anaerin Not in this case.
Nothing makes me happier than a CZcams notification for a new MCM video
This is awesome!! I love the dedication and how the "make it happen and get it done" spirit from the original videos is still the driving force today.
Love this conversion and can't wait to see the end result. Great video guys !!
Hello guys, we doing some thing that has never been done before and guess what. We also desided to make it extra harder but giving our selfs a 10 day window! 🤣🤣 you guys never disappoint at all 👏👏👏
It's turning into commercial tv, top gear mods. When they pretend to have deadlines for drama
Maybe not Lee. Media has absurd deadlines. Most producers have a great idea after it's practically too late to implement. "A issue isn't really an issue, if I can throw money at it to make it go away"
I just want to understand the production of these commercials, scripting, location scouting, scheduling crew and equipment, months of planning... Moog also probably spent weeks preparing the music track for the advert. Leaves the main piece, the car till the week before... EVERYTIME!!!
Or is it the production company that just dumps it on their lap each time. Like this is the third or fourth time right!
@@boxhead6177 we dont know whats required of us until a few weeks out, only once the idea for the ad has been locked in do we know what kind of car we can put together. No fake deadline drama here, why would we need to pretend that? So the comments section can whinge about it? no thanks!
@@mightycarmods Cool. I don't believe in fake deadline drama, but thats such a tight and unforgiving turn around... that either shows a lot of confidence and enthusiasm for everyone that it will work. Or your all just crazy to do it year after year.
Have you ever had to delay a production schedule and had any close calls that scared you guys?
This is bloody awesome can't wait to see the next episode 👍🏻
Instant like lads! I admire and envy you, not only for the interesting projects and cars you work on, but for the journeys and people you meet! I would love to visit Japan one day...Best of wishes to you, from Bulgaria!
I've been watching you guys since the beginning. This is the first time I've commented. I even took part in making your turbo 86 possible. But this, this is by far the best thing you guys have ever done 🙌 great feels and vibes.
Over here in the US, a big block is normally 7 or 8 liters. So funny that 1L is a big block! Super cool project, super awesome how you can get other Daihatsu parts and piece together a one of a kind truck!
They are being sarcastic when they call it a big block. They're making fun of the 454 Chev guys.
*Rainier Wolfcastle taps mic*
“That’s the joke”
God, this is gonna be scary xD turbo powered midget that I can imagine is gonna be run on E85 aswell so it will probably unlock some few extra ponies to go faster, this could possibly end up being the fastest midget still using basically all Daihatsu parts.
this is AWESOME! this video is exactly why i started watching MCM and exactly why i will continue watching MCM thank you marty and moog , absoloute legends both on and off screen.
Hello from Central Pennsylvania, thank you for all that you do. My best friend introduced me to you about 7 years ago. He was a Subaru fan. He had a WRX outfitted with MCM stickers. He passed away 3 years ago and i miss him, but when i watch MCM and listen to Moog's music i feel as he's enjoying it with me. Once again, thank you for what you do.
LOVE your commitment and passion to just get things done. Amazing build guy's good luck.
Amazing work as always guys! I love all of the kei car videos, keep it up
This was a fantastic episode!
Brings back memories of your old style MCM building the mini!
Seeing all the comments people are fizzing for this project boiz!
Can't wait to hear some waaaarp pshhhht from a unique one of a kind 1L turbo that's using all factory Daihatsu parts (it's the midget Daihatsu should've made).
I got a sad face that I need to wait for the next episode
Fun to watch! Exactly what I'm doing for my trackday S60! Got parts from 5 different generations and models all bolted together soon.
Well done guys
I always look forward the Supercheap builds and filming of adds. Looking forward to the next episode 😀
You peeps just keep turning out awesome story after story!! Love it so much. Thanks for the amazing video and hyped for part 2!!
You guys make me smile. I love you guys. I am happy that you were able to bring back the box of bits. You two are busy.
Love this style of vid. One of your better ones. Looking forward to the second ep. ✌
How good! This all sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing 👍
You guys are legends for not cutting that plane trip into the next episode! Love this already, I can tell it’s going to be an epic series! :D
Damn. Best build I’ve seen in a while. Don’t know why Daihatsu swaps make me so stoked but they do. Can’t wait till the next one.
Great video as always! The exhaust hose is an old cold start helper, warm air saturates easier. They show up often on carbureted V8 Chevys.
Between this and the Levorg I'm feeling some crazy 2012 MCM vibes.... I just love these videos!
I'm so stoked for this build. Hands down one of the best videos y'all have put out!
Project cool , start of another classic MCM build , good luck M&M 👍
Nice Guys Ive been hoping for midget upgrade videos, made my week thank you
Epic as always, awesome mood in your content guys. Thank you! ❤️
I'm a late 1960's US Cab over van, pickup fan, love that lil truck...and I'm falling in love with the new EV cabover pickup/van line, the "Canoo"
Ultimate Parts run, lol
Love the lenghts you guys go to, to get your mods done!!! Cant wait for the next episode!
Really enjoyed this episode, I was probably just as excited as you guys when I saw everything lining up.
love the dedication you guys go thru for the builds would be mad to see you guys come up to far north Queensland we got a mad some jdm gems up here 😉
holy shit, thats the shit MCM makes it what it is , making weird little cars look and go mad, even flyig over just real quick to make sure you got the parts , love it !
Great video as always... interesting to see the things that no one else would do.
Congratulations guys ... this is so good and makes me smile so much !
This is an absolute blast. I love how original and just damn fun this is. Great job guys.
Marty Moog you guys just plain crazy mate got to love the dedication and inthusiasm hurry up with the next episode 😁cheers from broken hill
Hey guys. Awesome vid!
Good suggestion for cleaning up gasket goo or gaskets scotch bright! Only have recently found this out and is a life saver! Noticed Marty struggling with Stanley blade and thought better suggest it. Keep up the awesome work!
The dedication to the craft is unparalleled! You guys rock!
Amazing as usual 😜 look forward to the next one!!
Superb, something different. Looking forward to this project.
i love these videos. they feel frantic yet methodical
Truly awesome swap and series! Parts from Japan are just awesome and to strip that engine in the driveway ….basically down to the BONES….amazing
Mini turbos and temples! Great video. Thank you 😊
Yo Moog the music track that you start at time stamp 08:13 is straight fire. It reminds me of Amon Tobin. One thing that I've always said is your guys’ positioning and choice of music styles per episode has always been great. I'm not sure which one of you edits these, but the flowing in and out of narrative voice, time lapses, and music switches really helps me stay engaged. The overall flow of your videos is like listening to a great jazz album. The peaks and valleys are just in the right spots. Keep up the good work guys.❤🔥
I've always wondered If you could do that, and with great haste, know how and risk - you bloody did it! Well done guys, excited to see this build take flight.
What a cool project. This is like Gran Turismo 4 in real life !
Long time fan, you guys are awesome. The best quality content on youtube hands down !
alway love your JDM content!
So jealous that you guys can just go ... hey we need parts . Let's just jump on a plane to Japen and go grab them . That's fantastic. 👍👊.
Legends!!
This is awesome content boys! I love the cheap nugget swap-a-roos!
Love ya boys! Wish I could ah got on at wishbone when I wad there, I put in a ap! Lol still remember that server checking me out when I mounted up on my 89 honda spada 250 after my potin and slurply!
My Lada's got one of those hoses, its used to warm up the intake air on a cold morning!
Mine's not hooked up and I never bothered though, despite the Canadian Winters...
lovin the project and the new music keep it up
Y'all are legends for just hopping on a plane to go wrench in Japan. I bet the relief seeing the box in 1 piece back home was huge!
Dank is gonna love this episode. I love it too, what an awesome build.
That's such a cool way to get parts quickly!!!
A fun adventure, and you get to escort your stuff home.
Okk, i never was in to these builds, the kei and the midget, but with this specific video i got hyped af. Trying to match stuff and actually working out. Good job.
Great idea for a couple episodes.....can't wait lads 👍👍👍
That was so sick!! Love that initiative.
What a birthday present to me! 🎉 Come home from work and get to enjoy a new upload from you boys. Keep it up!
Wow! Wasn't expecting the trip to Japan. This vid felt somehow a bit old school mcm but with more money 😂 this is a great project, can't wait for the next vid
Another classic episode in the making. Keep up the good work.
Very cool project, right back to MCM roots. Hope the gearbox and rear axle are up to the job!
Great episode! Something different .loved it
Hell yeah this is great! Can't wait to see the finished product!
You guys are the biggest legends! ❤ so keen for the next episode!
You guys always do awesome stuff.....As cool as this is, it needs more. Busted knuckle films on CZcams. They built 2. used a totaled Corvette drivetrain in one. Made foot wide fender flares, LS motor......
The other one ended up with 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer......and twin turbo LS motor.
They called it stomper, and it's the coolest mini truck I've ever seen.
