  • In this video we see Wyong Garden Vegetation truck 67 collecting green bins in the dominated holiday-unit area of The Entrance, on a very hot and sunny Friday morning between 7:00am-9:00am. Truck 67 is solely used for collecting green waste in Wyong Shire Council (Monday-Friday) and usually starts at about 3:30am-4:30am and finishes up around 12:00pm-1:00pm in the afternoon. Truck 67 collects two to three loads per day of green waste (depending on the day) and on this particular Friday the unit and suburban areas of The Entrance were quite heavy with green bins. It is priority to get the unit areas knocked out nice and early but council restricts the trucks entering the unit areas of The Entrance until 5:30am due to noise and traffic complaints.
I managed to follow this truck for a solid two hours and I got some really great clips of this truck in action and the driver was really helpful with telling me which way he was heading as basically all the green bins are scattered all over the place so keeping up with this fast paced truck at times can be tough. I really enjoyed videoing this truck in action as its fast paced and the driver really knows how to work his truck. There are a few clips were you will notice that the Pendulum packer just cant keep up with the constant loading of the light green waste material as it just seems to float in the hopper, heavy grass usually pushes the material down and keeps the hopper clear but in some cases the packer was struggling to keep up. The Pendulum packers dont really have a good reputation in the waste industry when it comes to green waste as light material can float, the driver of this truck also agreed that a paddle packer is much more suited for green waste collections as the material in the hopper gets pushed back more efficiently.
Thanks goes to the awesome driver (Gary) for letting me video and for telling me which way he was heading. This driver is a great mate of mine and we had a good chat and fun along the way that morning, he has driven truck 67 on the green waste since the start of the contract way back in 2008 and plans to until 2018 when the contract ends. Plenty more footage of the Central Coast to come in the near future including waste, recycling and cleanup collections. Also on this day I filmed with Remondisgarbofan21 and we had an awesome time filming the trucks and talking throughout the morning be sure to check out and stay tuned for his footage. Also thanks to you guys for watching and remember to like, fav and sub.

Thanks mate, the arm on this one has done that since it was near new, something to do with the hydraulics :)

***** That whistle noise is commonly caused by a swivel valve or a valve in general that isn't sealing properly

Thanks mate, hot around Sydney today and yesterday, not good for the trucks as they get overheated and then break down :(
