  • In this video we see one of the six identical new Iveco Acco/Superior Pak side loaders in action on the first week of service, specifically built up for the new City of Canada Bay Waste Collection Contract with Suez Australia which started on Monday 12th October 2015. In front of the camera we see the sole garden organics truck collecting the many green lidded bins on a sunny Friday morning throughout the streets of Concord and North Strathfield. After finishing up in Ryde just after 11am I made the quick drive down Concord Rd to the collection area and spotted the truck darting off the main road into a side street. From memory the first week of the Canada Bay contract was a little bit hectic with trucks a day behind collections due to a change of contractor and a group of new drivers who were unfamiliar of the area, which is completely understandable. Since then I believe things have settled down. It might be hard to believe after seeing the footage but yes this truck is brand new less than a week old when videoed and yet already the hopper and lifter was covered in bin juice from the green waste bins.
Some of you may notice the green waste bins in Canada Bay Council are a little different from what is usually seen in other councils for green waste collection. The bins are produced by Nylex and distributed by Cleanaway in 2004, they are known as Bio-insert bins and feature a number of vents on each sides of the bin, plastic inserts inside bin, a base plate and a lime green lid. Specifically designed for the green waste collections they are meant to encourage airflow inside the bin to prevent sticking of vegetation. Personally I reckon they are hopeless as sticks and pruning get jammed in the inserts and are a real pain to empty. Thanks has to go to the awesome and tidy driver for letting me video and also thanks to you guys for watching and remember to like, fav and sub.
The New Canada Bay Waste Collection fleet comprises of:
    6 Iveco Acco/Superior Pak Side Loaders (3 Garbage, 2 Recycle, 1 Greens).
    4 Dennis Elite/Superior Pak Rear Loaders (1 Garbage, 1 Recycle, 2 Cleanup).

How's old mate going now? at 3:11 perfect example of why the Sulo SOCS bins are far far better bins for vegetation collection- even better then a normal 240L bin.

+MegaDirtyHands Yeah mate he goes alright now much more improvement with the operating. He is picking up recycle at the moment in this contract. Yep the SULO SOCS bins are beast for veg collections a shame not too many councils use them in Sydney only Hunters Hill Council I can think of who still use them.

He did pretty good. Looks like there wasn't much of an issue with shit getting stuck in these bins, but we don't know if everything fell out of them all :D Really love the look of this truck, that smooth lifter is damn nice too, very soft pick-up. At 7:49 if you're gonna leave one bin in the gutter, leave them both in the gutter, otherwise both on the kerb haha We've all done 10:38, even if there's no obstruction, you still fuck up sometimes and feel like a complete twat.

+MitchellM15 Yeah Mitch he went alright for a new guy on the sidearms im pretty sure when i got him on video he only had a couple of weeks experience on the sidearms. This truck is soft when shaking the bins but I reckon now it shakes those bins more violently, seeing as the lifter has worn in. Haha at 7:49, i thought you would notice that :P The metal spill guard always catches the bins nothing beats the old SITA mudflap ey :)
