All....I'm seeing some comments for MANDY. I don't consider it a full on horror film (more of a revenge) so I didn't put it on the list. BUT...it will make the 2018 top 10 movies list for sure. Thanks for watching.

I love Strangers: Prey At Night. It definitely is my favorite horror film of 2018. Hereditary was good and the acting was fantastic,but overall I was more disappointed than happy with it. It was slightly better a second viewing though. The biggest disappointment for me this year though was Halloween. I didn't hate it and I thought it was good,but I wanted more with it and I had my problems with it. I'm glad you loved it though buddy. I'm hoping my feelings change with more future viewings.

Great Video Lee. I agree I enjoyed the Easter Eggs in the new Halloween film. Mostly the little kids wearing the Silver Shamrock masks from Halloween 3 when they were Trick 'R' Treating.

It was a really freaking quick year, but I agree with you 100% on Halloween 2018. As a HUGE Halloween fan, I fell right in love with that movie! Definitely my favorite movie of the year! I Enjoyed A Quiet Place a lot too! Great Video!

Glad to hear you mention The Ritual Lee cause it seems to have been overlooked, i would also highly recommend the book The Ritual was based on if you like to read, I found the book truly terrifying when I read it. Best horror film of 2018 for me though would be Hereditary cause it was so disturbing, closely followed by the new Halloween movie.

Thanks for this list. I've mostly been checking out older, obscure movies from the 70s and 80s. I only saw 4 horror movies from this year. Two good ones were A Quiet Place and The Meg. The two bad ones were The Nun and Summer of 84 which I was hoping to like since it was supposed to be a homage to 80s horror,but it failed. Not even a fun movie either. I like the blood splatters with each movie and I really like your shirt. Your opinions on movies closely match mine so I will trust your choices and check these movies out. Thanks again man.

Totally agree with your 1 and 2!! Both my favorites of the year but Myers made my whole year and I anticipated it more than I have any movie ever..plus it was the best Myers since the first one! That’s fucking awesome!! Hereditary was extremely good though..I remember just going to the theater not knowing what to expect and it scared the hell out of me..it’s amazing, not even just for 2018, it’s a note worthy good horror. I probably will show it to a lot of people in the future.

Am I the only one happy about The Open House honorable mention? I liked that film, specially the ending! Thank you for mentioning it, I'm not alone 😁. Now, here's the thing, I haven't been able to watch Suspiria, it hits theaters on February over here (Colombia) so I want to ask you: should I wait and watch it on the big screen? Or is it okay to watch it online? I'm not even sure if it's legally available that way, but still. Is very high on your list and with the exception of The Strangers, I tend to agree with you about horror. Looking forward to your answer.

Lee thank you for mentioning The Open House. I absolutely love that movie. I don’t understand the hate for it at all. Agree 100% about the 3rd act. I love how it ended I don’t think a lot of movies end so ambiguous anymore.

I have clown phobia since young age. All my life was haunted by movies like ''It'' ''Laughter'' and more. I watched Terrifier yesterday and I have to admit that despite the obvious technical problems of the movie and the not so original plot, this clown has the most haunting face I ever saw.
The only horror film I saw this year was Halloween! 😂 I didn’t really see that many films in the theater this year! Great list though!
Very good list! Personally I was not a huge fan of hereditary. I just didn’t like how it ended. Maybe it’s time for a rewatch. Glad to see The Strangers in the list. That movie seemed to get a lot of hate and after watching I I just didn’t get it. I thought it was very tense, had great acting, and I found the family very likeable and you find yourself really wanting them to make it through. Great solid ending as well.
Hereditary is a very polarizing film. It's like a car crash. Loved The Strangers so much.
Man so many months passed since the release of Annihilation.. but I still remember many things from it :D (and I watched it just once.. when it was released)

OK, I'll be honest, had to Google who Bailee Madison was. However, looking at her IMDb, I was shocked how many things I loved that she was in, special playing the Young Snow White in 4 episodes Once Upon a Time. But will say, good list, and next month, Halloween 2018 out on Blu Ray. Can't wait to own. Thank you, Lee for this list.

Lol I kinda saw your #1 coming a mile away but I agree 100% on it. It shattered all expectations I had for it by far. I wanted it to be good and it turned out to be damn near perfect.
Love your list here, although i havent seen a few of these yet but will once they hit video release. Hereditary however, was a big let down for me this year. Im not trashing it really, but I heard a lot of hype and people making the cardinal error of mentioning it as the next Exorcist. Saw it in theaters and it had SO much potential and as far as acting goes? Gabriel Byrne, Toni Collette and Milly Shapiro acted their asses off and deserve SOME award ( be it BAFTA, Golden Globe or Oscar). But the ending felt like a let down and i think thats what jaded me. I might go back and watch it again with a more open mind though.
But Terrifier? You led me to that and damn if it wasn't a sleeper hit! Great, great film that came out of left field and made an instant horror icon out of Art the Clown.

great list, but strangers: prey at night aside from deadpool 2 was my number 1 favorite, halloween 11 was at 6. halloween has some good sequels but by now for me personally it doesn't have anymore credibility to it probably cause i'm burnt out on it. but i'm glad you liked it! hereditary is another fairly good one but that movie has been getting a lot of hate the same way strangers did, when rob's three from hell premieres i'll bet everybody is going to LOVE that one.

Interestingly enough, we have the same movies in our top 5 but in a completely different order. 😂
Also, it’s a limited release unfortunately, but I would HIGHLY recommend Anna and the Apocalypse. It’s a comedic zombie musical. If you’re not into musicals, don’t let that turn you off from giving it a chance because there’s a lot of fun zombie stuff in it and the movie has a lot of charm to it. Definitely worth going out of your way to see. I saw it twice since I was lucky enough for it to be released in St Louis, which is where I’m going to film school. Want to see it a third time now.

It's an Alstalian zombie flick and soooooo good. So is another movie on Showtime called the The Cured that is out of Irland. Both I know you will love.

I liked The Open House. I thought it had good tension and the ending worked for me. I didn’t consider Annihilation to be a horror movie, but more of a sci-fi thriller. I like your list. There are a few I haven’t seen that I’ll need to check out. By the way, if you like The Strangers movies, you should see the French movie it’s based off of, ILS (Them). Looking at movie trailers, The Strangers and Hereditary are some of the best for horror, still give me goosebumps when I see them.
I have Them in my queue to watch actually.
You really need to check out Calibre on Netflix. I’m a huge suspense, tension, thriller fan and this delivered. You’ll love it.
Lars Von Trier's The House That Jack Built is not only my favorite horror film of the year, but my favorite film of 2018 period. One of the few true masterpieces to come out in 2018. I highly recommend it, and would love to hear your thoughts on the film.

I watched Decker Shado do a review of Terrifier. And it caught my attention. I watched it, and loved it. It was so different than most slasher movies. Art is awesome.

I liked the ritual.. But it might also be that I have a thing with things happening in the woods (forest)
I usually like woods / forests for their beauty (and the nature aspect) but I also know how creepy they can be especially at night haha. So as a guy who likes good horror movies of course I like those that happen in the woods too
