I absolutely love your attitude, these are you’re opinions, and that’s what matters. Excellent video as always
Thank you Brandon!
Drumdums and MetalJesusRocks are my two guys I go to when I want fair, positive-minded reviews. Great attitudes all around!
The Blob (1988) is a great remake as well
Hell yes it is! Great movie! I love the original and the 1988 remake
The IT remake is one of the few recent horror movies that’s gotten everything right. Everyone could really act, and carry their weight in the movie. The young actors playing the members of the Losers Club were able to hold their own, even with the scenes that had them going against the villain. Thats what I liked, because the movie wasn’t just about IT, it was about them too.
Idk, just felt like a jump scare compilation with bad cgi, only part I thought that was well done was Georgie’s death
I'm so happy you made part 2. Many people say bad things about Black Christmas and When a Stranger Calls remakes but I really love them
Robert DeNiro is the man in the Cape Fear remake. Great movie
Indeed!
The original antagonist and protagonist were in the remake
It's amazing how he shot that movie in the style of a sixties thriller, I assume to honor the original. In terms of composition and editing, it looks exactly like films of that period.
Come out come out whereever ya arrrre.
Yes...Robert Mitchum played the detective and Gregory Peck played Max Cady’s lawyer! The original movie was good too. They both gave great performances. 🙂
Great list, Loved both parts 1 and 2! Keep Up the great work Drumdums!!!👏👍
Thank you George!
Yes LEE! Great video as always buddy! I love me some Drumdums in the morning
Thanks brother! Have a great day!
Great ranking video as always lee! Thank you
You're welcome Jason!
TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN.
I saw that recently.
Loved it.
Can't believe I forgot about it.
NO ONE talks about Cape Fear.... Thank you!!👍
Kathy White that’s the first rule of Cape Fear.
Preach Kathy. It needed the attention. It's so good.
@@WolfmansGotNards Hahaha
I hated Cape Fear when I was a kid because of how unnerving it is. Now it's one of my favorite Scorsese films because of how unnerving it is.
DrewskyMcgillicuddy It shocks me how little respect it gets. Amazing.
Great list lee! Top job mate 🤙🏼
Thank you!
Great list and your editing is on point!
Thank you Gory! That means a LOT coming from you.
Drumdums I love you even more now because you helped me figure out that this horror movie I couldn't remember the name of was the Night of the Demons remake. Thank you.
Some of my favorite horror sequels:
A Nightmare on elm street 3: Dream Warriors
Halloween 2 (1981)
Friday the 13th The Final Chapter
Hellraiser 2
Slumber Party massacre 2
Phantasm 2
Great video btw!
Thank you!! Great ones.
Some of my favorite horror sequels are Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 3 - Season of the Witch (surprisingly), Jaws 2, Friday the 13th Parts 2 through 5, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 - Freddy's Revenge, and Predator 2 (though I mostly call that an action thriller).
Awesome Video Man! Love Rankings
Thank you!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews You're Welcome!
Absolutely love Bram Stoker's Dracula, though I find it hard to call it a remake simply because there's so many Dracula films, and it's not as if this film was in any way based on them...they really went back to the original book for most of it. It's just shot after shot of beautiful compositions, and some of the greatest practical effects ever done. I'm not opposed to well-used CGI, but this elevated practical effects to a new level, right as they were being outmoded.
Loved Let Me In.......glad to see it on your list
Dude, your video was so good, I decided to add a second comment. All those movies that are added to your list are my favorite remakes, I appreciate what you have done in your video, every single movie that you have on there, I love, I am 11 years old, and I know horror movies a lot.you are the God of horror movies to me, and I appreciate every single video you've done. Thank you so much
Remakes can't beat the original
Silent night: hold my beer
Haha there are a few that I like better. Silent Night is a fun one.
Ive actually ordered Let Me In & The Ring DvD. Just starting a collection, I have 4 dvds and 4 more otw
Awesome!!
Always enjoyed the Japanese versions of the The Ring and a few others that hollywood have remade but great films either way
Great picks Lee. One of my favorite remakes is Silent Night.
I almost put that one on the list. Fun one!
Awesome video Lee. Love everything your doing. The Town That Dreaded Sundown is so under rated. I love both. I actually don't live to far from where all that went down. Grandma tells me stories about it. The Wolfman was another amazing movie. This whole list was really great.
That is awesome! I would love to visit there someday.
This is why I look forward to your video drops! The Wolfman remake is my all time favorite remake, followed by The Town that Dreaded Sundown and then Evil Dead and so on.. But you always have some great picks! Plus Baghead killers are my favorite slashers.. If you can't tell!
Lee great vid lovin that intro every time those drums kick in i always bang my head side to side
Thank you! That's actually a song from my son's band.
Another great video i really enjoyed it. 🙂
Thank you!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews you are welcome glad to help 🙂
Great list! 👍🏼
Great video Lee. I would've thrown The Blob in there somewhere and I actually had no idea that Cape Fear was a remake. As for horror sequels, Dream Warriors without question would be my pick. I will say though Halloween to you is Elm Street to me haha. Since you said that you were going to be doing a couple of videos on the horror sequels have you thought about doing a 2 parter? The first video could be 20-11, the 2nd would be 10-1? Anyways I look forward to those top 10s. Keep up the good work man!!
I forgot about the Town that Dreaded Sundown remake. Loved that one! I would put that in my top 10 and replace with another one.
EXCELLENT list!!!
Thank you!
Honestly I really appreciate all remakes the good n the bad! That fact that people are investing their time and money towards horror films is amazing 🙌🏾🖤 LONG LIVE HORROR!
Oh my god, this was a great list! Let Me In, Fright Night And The Wolfman are all my favs! THANK YOU for giving these remakes the love and attention that they so much deserve! IT was great too. But, the movies I named are all the remakes that I love. Oh! Dracula too. (Smile) So, yeah,-Let Me In, Fright Night, and The Wolfman are my favs. Dracula and IT are easy and fun to watch. Beautifully done! Two thumbs up, Lee! 🤗👍🏽👍🏽
You're welcome!!
Nice to see you include Let Me In. A little surprised no mention of The Blob ('88) in either top 10 video but that's the great thing about lists or top 10's. Only so many slots available.
I've heard a lot of people mention The Blob, but I haven't seen that one yet.
i love that you included 2006’s black x-mas. i actually enjoyed as much as the 1974 original. the kills were so gory + we finally got an interesting and explained backstory for Billy + the cast is filled with great scream queens.
I believe I put that one on the part 1 video. Love it.
Hey Lee love your channel! Are you still interested in doing another top ten rankings. I’ve been really curious to see you’re top ten horror icons. Thanks again!
That could be fun Aaron!
Again thank you for the compliments i am very appreciative you are my top 3 movie critics
I love the Wolfman and was so happy and surprised to see this on your list. I hardly ever hear anyone mention it and most people tell me they haven't seen it. Anothony Hopkins is my favorite actor of all time. I love the dark setting it is filmed in. That movie is amazing. So underrated. Great list.
Yeah it's all but forgotten, but it's really solid horror flick, with some style.
Jackie Earle Haley is a really good Freddy in my opinion
Completely agree!!
Drumdums I like Freddy a lot in the remake but for some reason I didn’t like his voice
Mmmm, Cape Fear with Bobby D! Yessir! That film is in my top 25-30 favorite films (of all genres, of all time). Just wow. You are right. Folks don't talk much about it in horror groups, but in general, I've known a lot of people who ADORE this film, for Martin Scorsese's direction, the acting of DeNiro (of course!), Nolte, Jessica Lange & Juliette Lewis. Plus, there's so much brilliant, quotable dialogue!
Confession: I've only ever seen clips & scenes from the original film. For many years, I didn't know Cape Fear was a remake.
Great list, Lee! I love or like 9 of the 13 you mentioned here. In fact, The Town that Treaded Sundown is another remake I enjoy a great deal! It is VERY satisfying, well lit (it looks beautiful, I think...in it's overall aesthetic, I get My Bloody Valentine remake vibes)...nicely directed, wonderfully voiced (that killer's voice is chilling & that first death scene of the young man on the date...CHILLING)! 👍🏻👍🏻
It's amazing Casi! "Come out, come out wherever you are..."
iamcasihart: The 2 actors from the original movie had small roles in the remake. Robert Mitchum (original Max) played the detective and Gregory Peck (original Sam) played Max’s lawyer.
I love the when a stranger calls remake! 😂 I never hear Anyone talk about that movie so I’m glad it made the list.
It's a really good one. That's one of my daughter's favorites.
Hell yeah. Love Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Even visited the authors landmarks in UK. Great list Lee!
That's awesome. So jealous!
Chloë Grace Moretz is the Queen of Horror Remakes
Yep!
I thank Halloween 2018 because in the months building up to it i somehow came across Drumdums instantly hooked and in turn that got me to wwam and cody now watch all three on the regular.
And I thank YOU Glenn!!
Great video
I was soooo scared to mention Black Christmas, lol. I love both the original and the remake. I fell asleep watching the Wolfman. Twice. Still haven’t been able to get through it. But I’ll try just because you liked it so much. Great vid!
Hell yeah. I have such a great time with Black XMas that it has to be on there.
What...no blob 😲lol great video bro
Drumdums if we met we’d be good friends because all your honorable mentions and your films are my favs
Can't wait for it chapter 2
Love that you have Cape Fear. I frigging love that movie.
Cape Fear is such a classic.
We definitely agree on #1. One of my favorites.
Preach!!
I love the Washington setting of The Ring. The rural woodlands and the offshore island are such fantastically shot and atmospheric locations. The film's dark, overcast aesthetic makes it so unsettling even when nothing's going on.
Yes it's a great setting for a horror movie.
I appreciate that you picked movies like Cape Fear that are very good horror movies that are easily overlooked
I made it a point to in this one. Thanks Marc.
I rewatched Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula for the second time and it’s still extremely good and a masterpiece and a real true testament to the unmatched power of practical effects
Love the 2010 Wolfman! Extremely underrated
Agreed!!
The It remake is my favorite remake, followed very closely by The Ring in my opinion! Great list, Lee!
I could care less you don’t have the remake of F13 the fact you got when a stranger calls on here makes me happy! Such an underrated remake and I love it so much!
Also the Ring is the only movie to terrify me and cause me to lose sleep. Such an affective movie!
Thank you!!
Dawn of the dead is still my best remake, some of my favourite horror squeals are, Bride of Chucky, Wrong turn 2, Halloween 4, Halloween 2018. Avengers Endgame in 2 days! 3 days for the rest of the world! Lee I am so excited! Just wait till it's DC turn. omg
Some great horror sequels you got there. Can't wait for Endgame!
Brilliant 2nd parter to your first countdown Drumdums! :)
Love the fact that you included The Ring, I'm a huge fan of the original Japanese films just because they are very eerie and interesting.
My favorite sequels of all time have got to be (in no particular order):
* Halloween (2018)
My most favorite Halloween sequel ever released, but I do still appriecate the original sequels.
* Psycho II (1983)
Loved the first movie but this sequel ups it's game in the slasher genre and Anthony Perkins did a brilliant job continuing the role of Norman Bates.
* Evil Dead II (1987)
Again, I really enjoy the first film and it's a lot scarier but I would say I'm really fond of the sequel and it gave us the Ash that we all know and love today.
* Friday the 13th Part III (1982) or Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)
I jump back and forth on which is my favorite Friday the 13th sequel because a lot of them are actually really good, but if I had to pick, it would be one of these two.
* Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II (1987)
I enjoy this sequel more than the first film but I do love that Jamie Lee Curtis was in the first one.
* Child's Play 2 (1990)
I can't really decide which is favorite out of the first two Child's Play films, but I really enjoy both of these films and the last two editions to the franchise, Curse of Chucky & Cult of Chucky.
* Wishmaster 2 (1999)
Good sequel but I will always prefer the first film, 3rd & 4th installments were rubbish without Andrew Divoff and lacked good story-telling.
Thank you!!
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews No problem, I'm a recent subscriber of your channel, As a fellow slasher/horror fan I really enjoy the content you put out.
Sees the notification from drumdumbs immediately clicks on it to listen to more horror recommendations from Lee and I'm with you too Lee I don't mind the elm street remake not the worst of the franchise that's still dream child for me
Thank you Joshua!!
FINALLY the Wolfman remake gets some love. I do remember not feeling much when I saw it in the theaters, but watching the Extended Cut (which apparently it's pretty much every home video version) I felt more invested in the characters, perhaps that was cut in the theatrical one. But still, I actually like it and kinda view it as a lost '90s horror film in the vein of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Sleepy Hollow. It was also kinda refreshing to see a werewolf film that tried to be visually interesting/atmospheric even without the monster onscreen. Many werewolf films disappointed me for being kinda dull/boring once you put aside the monster scenes.
I love the Nightmare On Elm Street remake as well. I think Jackie Earl Haley did really well
Scream 2 is my favorite horror sequel, and probably my favorite sequel period. After that, I'd have to throw in Bride of Frankenstein, Saw II, and Halloween 3. Great list and video!
Wow, glad I'm not alone in thinking the Night of the Demons remake is a really fun time!
Hell yeah!
Wow you mentioned a few I haven't seen a while esp Let me in is one of my faves and when a stranger calls, not bad for a pg13
The Town that Dreaded Sundown, A Nightmare on Elm St, One Missed Call, Prom Night and The Ring are some of my fave remakes.
Nice! I love Town and the Nightmare remake.
De niro in cape fear Is excellent along with juliette Lewis. I concur with you on the nightmare on elm Street remake. Jackie Earl Haley did a great job playing
Freddy. I do prefer the original fright night and the town that dreaded sundown over the remakes. Great list and I'm looking forward to more top 10's.
I love the remakes of Cape fear, when a stranger calls, the hills have eyes, Friday the 13th, the last house on the left, maniac, and the texas chainsaw massacre! Kudos for you standing by your freddy pick knowing you were in the minority haha.
Wow i didn’t know they remade “the town that dreaded sundown” gonna have to look for that
Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula is extremely good and a masterpiece
dude, I love your honorable mentions and a nightmare on elm St is a really good remake to me and I also do like Friday the 13th and Halloween, those are all good remakes but I also love the remake of black x-mas I love your top 10,you have a good remake list that I love too, I appreciate your list and it is awesome 😁
Respect for putting the nightmare on elm street remake on your honorable mentions and I love that movie alot
Finally someone else that digs that movie like I do.
Another great list, dear Lee! One of my favorites still is The Blob (1988). It’s just such a good and entertaining film, imho. Also... I just remembered one of all time best vampire films that also happens to be a remake of a 1922 movie.. Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979). That film is a masterpiece!
PS. Once you see The Blob it will become one of your favorites, I am pretty sure about that.
I really need to see The Blob now.
For me the best horror sequel has to be V/H/S 2, that movie is just freaking amazing and also my second favourite horror found-footage
The Safe Haven segment by Gareth Evans blew me away the first time I watched it. Love it
@@nightskyarchitect And the Alien one is also amazing, still sad about the dog though :/
Great video with some great points, made me rethink some of my own opinions! In terms of best sequels gotta be the exorcist II: Heretic and Exorcist III
I could not get into Exorcist II, even though I have the VHS signed by Linda Blair.
I think many People are put off by how different it is from the first one I can see how it wouldn’t be everyone’s style
Friday the 13th remake definitely deserved an honorable mention spot atleast!!!!😢
Peter Benavente it’s my fav f13 movie 😄
@@Rcheek2299 its also my fav f13!
The town that dreaded sundown was awesome. One of my top 5 favorite horror remakes.
The closet scene in The Ring wasn't CGI, it was an animatronic dummy/mannequin created by the great Rick Baker (and yes it scared the absolute crap out of me when I first saw it). Here are some behind the scenes photos. www.imdb.com/title/tt0298130/mediaindex?refine=behind_the_scenes&ref_=ttmi_ref_bts
That's what I thought. Wasn't sure.
Great list man. Although I didn’t say The Thing wasn’t a remake. I said I didn’t consider Stephen King’s IT a remake lol.
Either way, I’m glad you loved IT enough to have it high on your list.
Yeah It is so effective that I couldn't make a list without having it on there. Thanks brother.
i love your opinions! even if i dont agree sometimes (i usually agree though) i have an affinity for remakes. some i like more than the original, SOME. the evil dead remake is one of my fav horror films actually!
Thank you Lexy! The remake of Evil Dead is one of my favorite horror films too. It's so brutal, unapologetic, and different than the original franchise.
The town that dreaded sundown, nice pick! Based on a true story!
Man I didn’t even know they remade Night of the Demons. I’ll have to check it out
Hey Lee, great list. Love the addition of The Wolfman ( thought I was the only one who liked the remake). Great choice with Cape Fear, definitely one for f Scorceses (spelling) best. If you like sack head killers, check out Dark Night of the Scarecrow (best tv horror movie ever made). And you are correct, The Thing is a remake. Look forward to the next video.
Yeah The Wolfman is HIGHLY underrated.
I loved that Dracula movie. One of my favorites!
Agreed. It's such a well made film.
Okay lets dissect your list a little to what I think! Sorry I had free time this morning and figured my comment would be a bit bigger then normal haha! Another great video Lee this is why I love your content being able to make me think etc. I don't care for some of these on this list but others I love. Shame you wouldn't put Fright Night on this list though! That cast man. It's prob third or fourth for me all time for vampire movies! (That would be a great list to see as well top 10 Vampire Movies).
10. The Ring - Not bad but it's no Ringu. I watched Ringu before watching The Ring and that was a huge mistake haha. Also love that Closet jump scene though. Only time random Jump scene has got me.
9. Halloween - Ugh... This movie still shares the bottom of my Hrankings with the second RZ one. 100% agree Love Tyler Mayne but he was not enough to save the movie. You like the final act where I think it goes on for wayyyyy to long. So you have an awful first act. A second act that is pretty shot for shot remakeish with a very annoying Lorie Strode. And then a 3rd act that could have ended like 3 times and went on for far to long.
8. When a Stranger Calls - I remember not being a fan of this remake I remember seeing it in theaters and just found it kinda boringish but I can't really comment on this one as I've actually only seen it the one time! PG-13 and horror just don't work 90% of the time.
7. The Town that Dreaded Sundown - Okay this movie I watched because one of the first reviews I watched when I found your channel was the first one and I went back and watched for the first time loved and knew you had mentioned this remake and honestly you have yet to give me a bad movie choice. I loved this movie up until the ending.. I hated the "twist" if you wanted to call it that.
6.Black X-mas - REALLY LEE!? Just yuck this should be on the top 10 worse haha. Any of your honorable mentions could have went here imo. Such a great cast wasted.
5. The Wolfman - It was okay... Another I saw in theaters and was really hyped for. I actually fell asleep watching it in the theaters. And finally two watchings later after it came out on dvd. I was able to get though it. I just thought it was really slow.
4. Let me in - Eh... I thought it was okay but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. I agree the original is one of the greatest Vampire movies ever. I also loved Chloe in the remake but just not nearly as good as the original.
3. IT - I've been one that has kinda disliked this from the start. I don't like most of the CGI... And the awful Jittery way that Pennywises is ALWAYS running at the camera gets old after a bit. I love the cast the kids are all great. And Bill is awesome as Pennywise.. Though I still love me some Tim Curry more. Also some weird sections for them to cut out in the theatrical cut and the extended one like having Henry kill his friends but not show it in the theatrical... Just some weird stuff.
2. Dracula - Okay So we talked about Let the Right one in being one of the best vampire movies... This is number 1 on the list Gary Oldmen was amazing. This is actually one of the first vampire movies I saw as a kid watched it with my dad so it has a special place in my heart.
1. Cape Fear - This movie made me fall in love with DeNiro I actually forgot all about this movie and haven't seen it in years. Will be giving a rewatch to this asap!
Haha thanks man. I know my opinions are controversial, but I love some of these for personal reasons. They just really connected with me.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Fair enough man no two people will have the same opinion on everything! That is why I love these lists when you do them. Or lists in general I always like seeing what others like compared to myself.
I actually just watched Cape Fear a week ago and thought it was a very good film, though i would've liked to see an explosive showdown between De Niro and Nolte. Cool ranking and i'm excited to see you review on the Hills Have Eyes remake.
Thank you Norton!
Some good remakes in your list. Some remakes I like are village of the damned, poltergeist, house on haunted Hill & invasion of the bodysnachers
Haha I haven't seen a single one of those remakes.
I agree with u on all 10 Lee, not coping, just thing these remakes are better, I would put Friday the 13th remake also. I am same with Cody, I loved it myself. awesome video Lee :)
at the Amundsen Scott South Pole Station they show The Thing(1982) including the prequel and the original alongside The Shining(1980)
I'd argue as to calling Cape Fear a horror movie, I think of it more as a thriller but if you are going to call it a horror film than yep definitely top of the list! Great list Lee, I was so happy you included The Wolfman, Benicio del Torro is so amazing in that film and who doesn't love Hopkins! And Gary Oldman is my favorite Dracula ever! Nobody has come close to nailing that performance and capturing the pure essence of that character quite the same. Keep on rocvkin these list man, loving them, still waiting and hoping for that top weapons video...lol. No pressure.... lol
It is definitely more of a thriller, but has enough horrific moments that it qualifies in my book. Max Cady is scary as hell.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews Oh no doubt he is scary as hell! I would not want to bump into him in a dark alley or anywhere for that matter LOL!
Haha me neither Diane. I can't stop thinking about Autopsy of Jane Doe haha.
@@DrumdumsMovieReviews I know it's such a mind blowing movie, I sort of hope they do sequels. Or better yet a prequel to see her origin story! I need to watch it again, it's been awhile. Maybe after I get moved lol!
Mothers Day 2010 is one of my favorite remakes, huge improvement over the original to me
I need to see that one.
Oh myyyyy Cape Fear with Dinero had me Terrified!!!!!!!!!
The date he had with that woman when he bit her face. Oooooh!!
I enjoyed the Black Christmas remake, far better than the recent one.
Thank you for including Nightmare on elm Street and Wolfman..personally I think the Wolfman is the most underrated remake of all time
Yes Wolfman is soooo underrated.
The guy who play Peter Vincent in Fright Night was David Tennant :)
Cant wait for the hills have eyes remake review that's my all time favorite remake (unless the thing counts even though it's more book based)
Me too. I watched it yesterday and was blown away!
I think Friday the 13th definitely deserves to be on the list. It gets better and better every watch.
The town that dreaded sundown is one of my top 3 remakes
My favorite remake is definitely The TCM 2003.Love the dark and sinister Leatherface performance and don‘t even get me started talking about R. Lee Ermey...Holy sh*t.Favorite horror sequels...man,I can definitely imagine how hard it‘ll be for you 😅 There are many amazing ones.I could list so many that I love right now 😂 Dream Warriors,Halloween 4,Halloween H20,Friday the 13th Part 2,4 &6...I actually really liked Wrong Turn 2 and Insidious 2 as well.Like I said,so many greats.
Definitely carry on the great work 👌🏻 Really love your videos.
One of the best! And thank you!!
Great vid my man! IT is my favorite remake and my top 5 horror sequel are... 5. Halloween 4
4. Nightmare Dream warriors
3. Saw 2
2. Friday 13th part 4
1. Evil Dead II
The Ring holds up!!
Yes it does!
