All....I REALIZE THAT HELL FEST IS R. That is my fault. I thought it was PG -13, but it's actually the softest R rated slasher on the planet. Thank you all for watching. What are your least favorite horror films of the year?
It doesn't matter if Hell Fest was R or PG-13 because (sadly) it was forgettable. I wanted to like that movie (a lot) more.

Lee is like the Mister Rogers of horror channels. This had more 'loves' in it than any other 'worst of' list on CZcams 😍 I don't think its a bad think. I think some of us are so busy finding the bad things we forget to see the good things. A lot of things he says I didn't think of before. Makes me want to go back and rewatch some of these.

with unfriended dark web i go with cody leach i liked it. it had some suspense to it creepy to me cause i dont really know how the dark web works and it had my attention, and another guilty pleasure is truth or dare it had me ROFL! i love your sound effects introducing each video!

Have you seen 4/20 Massacre? That was a good horror comedy that came out last year. Also, the movie Bad Samaritan was pretty good, imo.

Great List Lee. Agreed with every movie on the list. Except "The First Purge". I thought it was just okay. I am not the biggest fan of The Purge franchise, but I do think they are dumb fun movies, that you can kick back and just enjoy.

@@ganthc I actually just saw the movie a couple of days ago and it was definitely an enjoyable slasher and a breath of fresh air considering I haven't really seen any good ones in the last year outside of Halloween and movies I have already seen.
Two cents... yeah I think it’s an entertaining movie with a great cast.
I didn't really get to see a bunch of movies this past year, but my bottom 3 would be #1 Summer of 84 (and I know it's not a true horror film by any means), #2 The Witch In The Window, #3 The Meg- again, not true horror. But a movie in which I had a blast watching this. It was the perfect popcorn flick!
Oh I hated The Meg immensely. Why didn't I have it on this list?!!
I simply loved your explanation regarding some of these crappy ass movies. Once I saw the sillyass grin on the trailers of 'Truth of Dare', I knew the movie was doing to a bad one. Too much reliance on CGI and not enough on story and character building. The First Purge is a good example as it used CGI blood instead of using squibs. I had both Truth or Dare and Slenderman on my Top 5 Worst horror movies, along with Deep Blue Sea 2, Day of the Dead Bloodlines, and The Cloverfield Paradox.
Glad I avoided Deep Blue Sea 2 and DotD Bloodlines. I heard they were horrible.

HellRaiser: Judgement opens up strong, but it goes south very quickly.
The premise in “Bad Apples” sounds like the one in “Trick or Treat”. I haven’t seen either of them, but I will definitely check out “Trick or Treat.” Sam seems really cute to me. Kind of like a Telly Tubby from Hell with a very Tim Burton-esque face. I understand too that Telly tubbies and Hell are considered synonymous to some people. Don’t know where I heard that. “Unfriended: Dark Web” surprises me that it would be lame since the concept of the Dark web is a very scary concept. That’s way off the reservation for me.

Hi Drumdums, there's a syfy movie called Truth or Dare that came out in 2017 that is way better imo than the Truth or Dare on your list. I think you should check it out if you haven't. It even has a famous final girl celebrity cameo.

I didn't even know they did enough horror movies in 2018 to do a 10 best and worst list lol.hellraiser judgement was decent the gross out stuff really annoyed me .
It was tough to find 10 really bad ones, but I did get some stinkers in there.
Yeah i too detest cgi effects, however The Nun i thought was an adequate film (sorry to say) and i was genuinely scared when i watched this at the cinemas. That introductory scene when the evil Nun was slowly moving down that tenebrous corridor towards the romanian nun was so spine-chilling and it made my heart race. Lots of good jump scares and tension throughout. Definitely my favourite in The Conjuring franchise.

Yeah luckily I skipped that one. I only include movies that I've seen.
The characters were either "a cliche", or "cliched". Saying "The characters are cliche" is like saying "He was very bore" instead of "He was very bored".
Nice list Lee. Thankfully I avoided most of these altogether, but Truth or Dare and The Predator are certainly in my bottom 5 for the year.
Besides those, I also very much disliked Tales from the Hood 2, Terrifier, and in the basement, the absolute worst movie I saw all year....Downrange.
I keep hearing how bad Tales from the Hood is haha.

I actually was on the tour of the Winchester house because it was close to a concert me and my friend went to. The house was cool to see but the movie itself was not good at all.

Yeah man. I just cannot get into those movies. The premise is cool (even though extremely hard to buy) but I like a more isolated environment. And they didn't have the dark horror aspect like I wanted.

Totally agree with you on the Predator. I heard they reshot the third act, saw some stills of a couple normal predators riding in a tank with humans in daylight, so it seems like a huge change up with what we got.

Ill agree with you on Slender Man. I love the Creepypasta, and it’s enough to give you some serious chills. I was hugely disappointed in the movie because it was all set up for the characters to be doomed in the first place and seemed to have kinda ripped off elements from THE RING. It had so much potential, but it failed horribly.
I have to disagree with THE NUN though. So far everything in THE CONJURING universe has been great and been loving every minute of it. What I’ve been enjoying with the spin offs is how each movie somehow connects with the other. When those are revealed, I’m like WHOA

I agree with the Nun and first purge. I also really disliked strangers prey at night. Felt like it lost all the feeling of the first.
Yeah I know some hated Strangers. It was one of my favorites of the year actually.

I liked the nun, it had its scary moments in the film, i think it suffered from too much dialogue and not enough scares but I'm hopeful pt 2 will be good. I agree with you on predator, the giant predator was stupid and the movie fell off after that. Purge prequel i didn't like as well. Giving it an urban setting made it feel more like a hood film. Slenderman is the worst one on the list. Good picks 🤘

Pretty much spot on Lee. I did enjoy Hellraiser Judgment and Before I Wake but everything else was disappointing or bad. I thought The Predator was better a 2nd time around but I do agree that they tried to make it too funny.
I bought The Predator so I'm planning on giving it another watch.

I had a hunch what your #1 would be! Lol but this is a unique list in that i love your picks but I intentionally dodged damn near every one of these based on the trailers alone except Hellraiser Judgement and The First Purge ( which you mentioned that you might like it if you're a fan of the franchise? But no, I hated this movie too and i like most the series! It was the worst of the franchise easily and got way too topical).
Hellraiser Judgement was the best in the last 25 years but like you said, that says a lot about of where things stand there then Shame too, because the first 2 are legendary and Pinhead is a standout horror icon but it became a Syfy Channel budget series by the mid 2000s. I hope though that if they continue the series, they retain Paul T. Taylor as Pinhead if they cant convince Doug Bradley to return, because i thought he did a great job overall

I'd say Hellraiser Judgement wasn't the best but I still take it over Hellraiser Revelations which in my opinion was the worst but i personally liked the first 4 Hellraiser films and for The Nun was definitely beautifully shot but seems to be filled with jump scares, and totally hated Slenderman and Truth or Dare

Sorry Lee can't agree with you about Hell Fest! I really liked the characters though I agree they could have used a little more development! The killer had a menacing presents! The film had great atmosphere, suspense, tension and buildup which I found Halloween 2018 was lacking until it's 3rd act! The cinematography, lighting and set design was great and all around I thought it was really good!

I do have to disagree with your opinion on Dark Web, however I respect it. I actually prefer Dark Web over the first one, I guess I just enjoy the realism, as those kinda things are my biggest fear. I do think you should check out the alternate endings; it may change your opinion on the overall movie.

The Nun was like one of five films I saw in theaters this year. Me and my friend got properly scared by the trailer so we were all set to have our blood turned to ice, you know?
Instead, the best part of the movie was the French dude cracking lame jokes and that's only because the rest was jumpscares, jumpscares, jumpscares. There was some palpable tension when they first got to the monastery, but after that, it all went to shit.
This could've been Shining-level good if they just kept things moody and focused more on the mystery of Valek and the main characters.

You gotta realize when it came to the slenderman film they had to cut and rewrite a lot of it cause they got sued by the parents of the girl who was almost murdered by those 2 girls. So this was not his vision
I think the ending of Truth or Dare is what got me to hate it. I can handle the campy CGI face, the somewhat predictable way it reached the climax... But the climax itself just left me staring at the screen like whaaaaaaat just happened? THAT is how you end it? Come on, man... It felt rushed and left me unfulfilled.
Completely agree Geoff. I hate stupid endings and this one was one of the worst in that dept.
