- Part 1 of 2. Installing and assembling a quick performance 9 inch into my 3rd generation F-body. Watch as I prep and assembly my new quick performance 9 inch and get it ready to install into my LS3 swapped Iroc-Z camaro. I went with LS1 rear brakes and 35 spline axle shafts' with 4.11 gears this thing is going to be a blast!

Absolutely love it. Your videos are so detailed. Definitely inspires me to get to working on mine
Thanks glad it helped.
this helped a lot, thank you. on my 9 inch I accidently left the shoes attached to the backing plate lol. and I didnt have enough room to bolt on the plate. so I had to take out the screw and swing the brakes out of the way
That new rear end looks great!
Thanks it does look good can't wait to test it out.
Great video, love it
Car is looking great I have 3 of those 2 91z28 and a 92 rs I wish I had time to LS swap one of them
Thanks Man. Ya the LS swap definitely brought this car to another level.
Sell me one where are you located?
I have a quick 9inch that I'm ready to install. Waiting on the third member to arrive then it's on.
Great vid. How is the rear holding up? Any leaks or anything to lookout for ?
This video is very helpful I'm doing same swap currently
What did you use for sway bar mounts?
I got zero instructions or recommend parts from quick performance
When I was building the rear end I had them add sway bar mounts for 50 bucks extra. Otherwise you will have to weld on your own or get the clamp on kind.
Thank you for the in depth walk through. Is it possible to seat the bearings in the housing first then put the axle with the backing plate on afterwards so it I don’t have to take it to a shop?
I only ask because I haven’t received my axle yet just trying to get prepared
Thanks Not sure I would recommend that it needs some serious force to get a proper seat.
Great information on this swap
We're your bearings pressed on when you received axle shaft's? I just received mine and now gotta remove brand new bearings
Mine did not come pressed on. If I remember right they were pretty snug though and semi pressed on and I used a 2x4 and hammer to knock lose.
If you are going to use sealant on the outer part of the seal use PERMATEX Anaerobic Gasket Maker
How do you like that QP rear end? Any issues with the workmanship or quality.
Good quality rear-end. Fit and finish is spot on. Only thing I don't care much for is the torque arm bracket it's big and bulky and hits the body over hard bumps.
I've got a qp 9 inch I haven't installed yet and I had it it machined to accept 98-02 brakes do I need to put the backing plates on before I press the bearings on?
Yes
I was told by quick performance that I don't need the backing plates is that true that the bearing will hold them in
@@joshmoore7336 You need the backing plates to bolt the calipers to. Without the backing plates you won't have rear brakes or ebrakes.
Is that the fabricated big web housing? That’s what I ordered and just wanted to know if that’s what I’m getting. Thanks man
Yes that's the big web fabricated housing.
@@Brandon-LSX awesome can’t wait for it to show up. Thanks man
What kind of Silicone?????
What’s the brass fitting there for? I just got mine and was curious!
It's a vent tube.
@@Brandon-LSX no leaks coming out of it? Been a doing fine I’m assuming?
@@MasonsMotorworks No leaks but I did add a length of rubber hose connected to it. I'm assuming that's what the barbs are for on the fitting.
@@Brandon-LSX one last thing, how’s the copper brake lines holding up? Still holding up well? Also where did you get the line flare tool?
@@MasonsMotorworks The copper Iines are holding up just fine. I did add small sections of rubber hoses and any contact points to keep them from rubbing through. Got the flare tool off Amazon.
where did you get thie 9" rear end from?
@Quickperformance
Are they still selling them? Or they ran out of business. I am on the process to get one for my fbody but they don't answer the phone
@@headported Who knows lol. Call in the am probably better chance on getting through.
