    Great tutorial for anyone attempting this. Here is my tips for this to go smoothly, especially hardware wise.
    1) Get yourself a set of plastic ramps to drive on if you don’t have access to a lift. You can thank me later.
    2) Expect to spend considerable amount of time just getting the DPF canister out and that three bolt flange that bolts to the catalytic converter. My bolts were all rusted to hell and first I had to cut them off with the hackzall with metal blade. Then I had to go and purchase yet another $348 Milwaukee M18 die grinder, because mine was in the service truck at the moment(useful tool to have in the garage anyway)
    Than I had to get the longest die grinder bit that I could find, just to get to that upper bolt to grind it flat to the flange. My flange was still stuck, after I ground the studs and I had to use the chisel and some screwdrivers and drive them in between the flanges to separate them. Almost half a day just to get the DPF canister out.
    3) exhaust hangers are a pain to remove but use silicone spray, screwdriver and wrestle them out for re use.
    4) remove the crossmember and support by transfer case slightly. Way easier to work with that piece out of the way.
    5) cover all sensors with small parts bags and tie them up with zip ties out of the way. Latest deletes use no sensors whatsoever.
    6) Have a few beers in between because, you will need it out of frustration working with rusted exhaust hardware.
    Enjoy your deleted car and trouble free motoring from now on.

      Prior to install I did get a "glow plug" warning and shortly after the car would go into limp mode. When i cleared the codes it would be back to normal. As to what caused it, I have no idea. It would happen on long drives. So maybe that what caused it but I have no proof that that was the reason. Once I deleted the q7 and did the stage 2 tune i have not gotten that problem ever again. As to your issue i have not had that problem

    Excellent video series for the Q7 tune & delete. I am just about to do the same for mine as I am sick to the back teeth with all the expense and hastle I've been through regarding the emissions components! Currently I'm on a 40km no-start warning, which, looking at my VCDS report, is going to cost me at least $2k to resolve at the stealership (there are no DIY/VCDS options left for me). A couple of Q's, if you don't mind:
    1. For the delete exhaust system, is there an option to keep the stock rear silencer (muffler) with the twin pipes? Or, does it have to be removed and discarded? I would rather keep it, to be honest, as I'm not into the whole 'noisy pipes' thing.
    2. For the sensors that you removed and didn't refit, did you just bag up the electrical connectors and tie-wrap them off, i.e. leave them connected to the looms/harness?
    3. Did you go on to remove and cap the EGR valve and all of the other shite related to it?

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  Před 3 lety +1

      1) yes, you can keep the stock muffler, not a problem at all. Inorder for the delete kit to fit your stock muffler You can make that an option when you order it. But if you get a used one and they dont have the step down connection you can always find one online
      2) so for the ones that didn't get connected back. I used electrical tape to wrap the sensor part and then used a zip tie to tuck it out of the way
      3)i left it all on the engine. I did not remove them

      Update: I got in touch with Andrew at TuneMyEuro, and he helped me with my questions and concerns. He then held my hand through the simple ordering process (as I was on the phone and his website simultaneously).
      My concerns were:
      1. I do not want to 'roll coal'.
      2. Would prefer not to have to take off emission/exhaust components, especially the DPF.
      3. Do not want extra noise. (I like my neighbours!)
      His solution satisfied all concerns, and he offered me a "Stage 2 Race Off-Road" tuning with EGR, SCR & DEF delete.
      The Tuning is the JR AutoTuning Performance (AAR2277), which I think will better meet my needs over the Malone Stage 2 tuning. From research, I think we can safely say that the Malone tuning is a little more aggressive, and the JR Auto is more engine sympathetic, and has a smoother curve.

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  Před 2 lety

      No need to. Anything hose wise that connected to the dpf will not need to be connected to the deleted pipe. Only thing that you can connect is any sensores that the delete kit has. The 1st gen of the delete kits still had the holes for the sensors to go back on. And now the newer delete kits ( to my understanding) they don't come with that anymore. Cost and time. Easier and cheaper to leave it out. So any sensor or hose not in use you can zip tie them out of the way.
