- When did the Texas Chainsaw movies get so muddled with so many timelines? It’s not a hard thing to do. People get lost in Texas and end up victims of Leatherface and his family. The remake was successful and got a prequel and it’s that prequel that is the true black sheep of the series. Not the remake itself, not part 3, and not either of the other requels or origin stories. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning does everything you’d want while mixing 70’s mentality and early 2000’s gore.

2003 and 2006 TCM movies are the best to watch together. The only two movies that have continuity and feel like one story.
This, The 03 remake & the original TCM only worth watching one's for me personally
The original + the ‘03 remake and it’s ‘06 prequel are the only respectable and worth watching movies in the franchise
Love the Beginning, its probably my 2nd favorite of the franchise behind the original 74 film. "My money says, he isnt going anywhere".
R Lee Ermy was the best thing in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and it's prequel. The gore was awesome.
I seriously don’t know why this movie gets so much hate, this really did have so many suspenseful moments and it’s way better than the 2013 and 2022 movies
The beginning and the 03 remake are my all-time favorite go-to that, but I can't forget the original
No, next generation is definitely the black sheep. This one is fine, a bit too gross at times. Worth watching for Ermy
I kinda liked this one…. For some reason it was lacking a certain”something” for me…. I prefer the Remake….. guess the chase sequences are more intense…..
Definitely an underrated entry in the franchise, and quite over-hated.
This one was worth watching for Diora Baird and Jordana Brewster.
It was a solid sequel to the remake but issue was it would have worked better as a continuation and not a prequel. I still have no idea why the dinner scene wasn't in the 2003 remake? Nor the cannibalism?
Always wanted a sequel to these
I LOVE the 03 remake and really love The Beginning
This is my favorite remake. Better than the original.
In the friday the 13th part 2 and 3 jason was running
I'll always have a soft spot for this one, it was when I got into the series and the very first horror movie I ever watched at a theater. I was in 8th grade and die hard into it then, E had a True Hollywood Story about the series and it was a very fun watch and had a lot of scenes from this one in it. Hyped me up solid. I took my 2 best friends who were super Christian to it on a Saturday matinee, they won't admit it but I know they enjoyed it. It was one of their birthdays and we were gonna go anyways, I just talked his mom into letting us go, it wasn't easy but it was worth it. The crowd loved it and the twists were epic, I wasn't expecting that one at the end at all. Brewster was so good as the lead it broke my spirit seeing what happened. I much prefer this one to the remake. Ermey and the family have way much more time and it was for the better as they were the best part of the OG movie. I love how detailed and subtle their history is, it doesn't hit you in the face but when you re-watch it a time or two you can understand how effed up the family really was.
I Love The Story On How Leatherface's Origin Story Took Place In This Film I Saw It And I Was Floored By This Movie.
This movie was a good follow up to the remake, it kept the same quality even if the story was almost a repeat.
I love that you brought up Stan Helsing. That movie was quite the stoner film.
