In this video, I show you how to shoot in slow motion with the Sony A7IV. Slow-motion footage is a great way to capture important moments and bring them to life in your video projects. You can edit slow-motion footage in many different ways and it's very easy with the right camera.

Great video! I just got this camera and want to shot awesomeness like this too. It’s my first camera and I know very little at this point but can’t wait to learn! My question is about memory cards for this camera to be able to get the best quality video and pictures out of this camera. That being said lol who the heck are pricing these darn cards?!? 😅 what card do you recommend to be able to capture the best quality vid and picture? Also another question about storage. Do I really need a huge amount or storage for a for fun use of this camera. Any help or advise would be awesome. Keep up these very easy to understand videos by the way. You explain everything very easily to understand for people like me so thank ms for that!

Thanks for this tutoriel , i just got an a7iv today but do only have access to 25 and 50 fps my firmware is 1.1 and i need to upgrade it so I’m wondering if that’s why i don;t have 24 fps and 60 fps, maybe you can help me with that.

Please help. I used your settings and my beautidul slow mo clips wont import into final cut or play on my computer. I see the clips play in the camera. Whata wrong? I didnt use the s&q settings
When i set Image Quality to XAVC HS 4K like you did, i can't change these values for "p" and "fps". When I do this, the first value which is 50p is greyed out (seems to be locked). I can change this value to 25p only when i switch to XAVC S 4K. BTW I don't have values like 24p or 60p. Instead I have 25p and 50p.

I’m confused, my a7rIV has different setting than what you’re showing :( and my record setting option is under movie AND S&Q area. Any suggestions ? I also couldn’t adjust my shutter speed when in S&Q mode. I just switched from the a7iii and I can’t figure out slow mo
My Sony a7iv won't shoot in slow-mo because I don't have the correct sdxc. This is the first thing anyone needs to know before shooting am I correct?
Wow just what I needed! Do I need the CF Express card for this P and Q mode? Do you use any UHS i cards for photo? Or just still to UHS - here in the U.K. it’s very expensive aha
Hey was just checking in the comments and saw yours. If you have a slow SD card like mine, the manual way of shooting slow motion lets you use that card, whereas for S&Q you need a faster v60 SD card. hope this helps. :)

hey just curious because i can’t find the answer anywhere. does 1080p120 and 4k60 capture audio in both modes? i wanna do sports but need that audio when shooting in super slow mo!
Hey Gavin, Thanks for the questions. When you are shooting in manual mode you definally will record audio for the video. If you use S&Q mode I'm pretty sure it does not record audio. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi Tristan, if I am shooting outdoor, and I keep my shutter speed double my 60fps does that mean I can only play around with my aperture to to reduce the brightness thereby loosing depth of field? Thanks In advance
!0 months late but yes thats correct. Those 2 are only to use to play with the exposure.

Hi Miney. I think you’re on PAL. Switch it to NTSC so that you can shoot 4K60.

Question, if you shot all your clips 4K, 60fps. Why did you open the sequence with 24frame rate and not 59.97 Or 60 frame rate(s)?
