    Made a video about how to get 120fps in 10 bit colour and thought it’d be great to show you how to customize your S&Q modes for faster access to slow mo and Timelapses!

    Thanks for the video. But base ISO for Slog3 should be 800 and not 640?

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety +1

      I know on my a7iii on slog 2 it was base iso but with my a7iv and a7siii it had it at 640. I’ve also been able to lower it to like 200 when I forgot an ND but no clue why haha still did the job somehow

    • @eike.zender
      @eike.zender Před 2 lety

      @@EasyTigerCreative but didn't you notice some loss in quality by going lower than base ISO?

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety

      I personally didn’t but I also want doing professionally work that I was looking for it. But I don’t always do it honestly. I try to stay at 640 or so when needed because slog3 that’s the base apparently

    • @eike.zender
      @eike.zender Před 2 lety

      @@EasyTigerCreative I'm not sure, if I get this right. So, do you use 640 as your personal base, that you have more room to play with/without a filter?
      Because the "official" (first) base should be 800. The lower iso numbers are also indicated with those lines on the bottom and top, so those numbers should be additional values, but not base.
      This video is very helpful: czcams.com/video/F3K9c_Y18rs/video.html

      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety +1

      @@eike.zender ah yea for the a7siii the base iso in slog 3 is 640. For the a7iv it’s 800 iso. I just leave it there since it’s the same as my a7siii. But I can move it around for certain things that I need. I know if I need more dynamic range it’ll be fine to just do their native ISO or adjust as needed. If I’m not needing the dynamic range since I’m indoors or something along those lines I’m not too worried about it if that all makes sense.

    Do you “NEED” the V-90 cards for this 120/10bit in S&Q mode setting, I presuppose? Thanks!

  • @clydedigital

    I don’t seem to be able to use xavcs-I had, even though I have a v90 card. It tells me to “use a card higher than sdxc v90”

    Hey, thanks for the very informative and helpful video! I have a question regarding picture profile. In other videos, people recommend PP8 for slog3, but I see you're using PP9. Is that still slog3? Whats the difference?

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před rokem

      Glad to have helped! And regarding the PP, you just have a preference. The PP8 uses the S-Gamut 3 Cine for the colour mode and the PP9 has the S Gamut 3. So it’s ultimately what works best for your colour grading!

  • @stowgood
    @stowgood Před 2 lety

    Great video. I just got the a7iv and didn't ever think of using S&Q mode to to time lapses, I never used that mode on my a7iii thanks for that! I have a question is it possible to have in S&Q 1080p 120fps on memory 1 and timelapse in 4k on memory 2? I am having trouble finding a way to have the video mode in 4k 24fps then switching to S&Q to do 1080p 120. I was hoping that new dial would let me do that moving from a7iii to a7iv that would be a big benefit for me.

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety

      Yes you’re able to do that! It’s a great benefit of having the customization for the S&Q mode to do all that! What I did was in the video switch part on memory 1 I saved it for 4k 24fps, then if I move the switch to s&q memory 1 it’ll be 120fps 10 bit and memory 2 will be my Timelapse settings!

  • @taz7173
    @taz7173 Před 2 lety

    Question: If you use SloMo in S&Q, the video will only playback in SloMo with no sound. If you record in video mode with 1080p 120 fps (I believe 8-bit only option), then you can playback in normal speed and use SloMo during your post edit. Is that correct?

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety +1

      That’s correct! In S&Q mode you lose the sound and availability to slow it down yourself technically but you can also speed it up and it should be fine to do like speed ramps and such! The 1080 120fps video mode only allows 8 bit oddly enough! Maybe they’ll do a firmware update to allow 10bit in video mode since technically they could!

    Is Clear Image Zoom available in the 120fps mode? I haven't been able to find that out in reviews online so far. On my A7 RII, I can't, but at least using crop mode I can get the 35-150 to be the equivalent of 225mm at 120fps, but if Clear Image Zoom was available, I could get to around 500mm. Even if a drop in quality was quite noticeable, I'd definitely use it.

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety +1

      I don’t think it’s available at 120fps. I’ll have to double check and see if I’m able to do that!

  • @JMower
    @JMower Před 2 lety

    Great channel, subbed! So to clarify, the 120fps only works in 1080p? What are the slow mo options for 4k?
    I'm stuck between getting the a7iv or the a7siii. I want to use it mainly for video, but a little bit of photography too. Do you think it's worth spending more on the a7siii, or to stick with the a7iv?

    • @EasyTigerCreative
      @EasyTigerCreative  Před 2 lety

      I have both! I use the a7siii for all my video needs basically. At least 99% of the time honestly. Specially for slow mode. A7iv has 4k 60 cropped in for the most at 4k and 120 at 1080p. So if you’re going to use it for video, I’d say get the a7siii. It’s too damn good for that and you can still get by with some photography.

      You’re welcome to slow down the video! It’s not a live video so you can replay it if you couldn’t keep up. No shame in that! That’s why I posted it so in case you need to rewind, you can do that or play it back in slower motion if you choose to in the settings of play back. If you have any questions, I’m always happy to try to help.
