- This is how to make faster, easier timelapses with the sony a7iv, sony a7iii, or any sony camera with S&Q mode!
If you have ever made a timelapse but it's taken you forever to edit the photos, convert to a video and then export, this is the video for you
#timelapsetutorial #sonya7ivtutorial #timelapsehowto
The best and most concise explanation on this subject I've found so far. Well done, and thank you for your time in putting this together and sharing.
Don't mention it Ron, thanks so much for the kind comment, I'm really glad I was able to help you out with this :)
Great video thanks!
best explanation of s&q shooting on youtube! god how hard it is to explain it like this. others make it so confusing lol
nice and helpful thank you for saving my time😊
Great explanation thanks. I’ll download and go through the process with camera in hand.
Thanks for getting straight into it, great description and explanation.
Don’t mention it :)
Great, thanks this saves me a lottttt of time and frustration :)))
It was really a pain in the b#t to grade and convert the files into a video.
No probs, Glad it helped!
Thanks for sharing.
Super clear explanation! Thanks very much.
Glad I was able to help out so much :)
Hi nice video.....just wanted to ask...if your time line is 24 fps...so recording playback speed 60 fps will slow it down?...and what about shutter speed exposer focus and other settings?.
Thanks! And you need to slow it down yourself from a 60fps video on a 24fps timeline, so like I did in this video. And look up the aperture triangle rule to help you out for SS, ISO etc :)
Nice 24p and 4fps is good setting for timlapse?
I’d say both can be great depending on what speed you’re using them for :)
Can do the whole milky way timelapse with this method? it seems easier.
Much easier! Though in my experience because of the darker sky, the shutter speed in s&q is limited about 4s when you need 15s sadly
@@NicBucci oh right. As a beginner this method does seem to be fast
which one sharper this way or the intvertal shoot by taking many photos then compound it?
This is that way - the interval mode :)
@@NicBucci no the interval shoot is in drive mode not on s&q
@@asalalawsi oh right, I was confused with what you were asking, my bad 😅
I'd say they're both pretty similar for simple subjects and especially if you have a newer camera like the a7IV, but if you don't then I'd go with the interval shoot option - hope that helps :)
@@NicBucci thanks 🙏🏻
Nice, might try it myself
I think you'll like it mate! Instead of editing all those photos afterwards, which can be a pain :')
why do you have 100M 422 10bit while recording SnQ, while my A7iv does not have that option.. :( I only have mine on 50M 422 10bit.. thats the maximum bitrate that is available on my camera lol
Maybe try adding in a faster SD card :) I run a v60
Is the s&q mode limited to 1/4 shutter speed? Bec. I was trying to slowdown my shutter speed and it limit only to 1/4
Yeah definitely bud, it's more for daytime use whereas time-lapse is for evening use, like Milky way skies etc :)
What software did you use to edit?
This one was done with DaVinci Resolve :)
this video footage didnt support fcpx..whats the sollution bro
Hmm I've not heard it not being supported in fcpx - maybe try a Reddit thread? Good luck!
But if it’s video doesn’t the a7iii and a7riii have a 30 min record limit? Wouldn’t that mess up say, a 8 hour time lapse ?
This is true for the mk3 cameras in S&Q yeah, so for that I guess you would have to be near each time it finished at 30mins to start it again :)
@@NicBucci OR have a external recording device like the atamos ninja v
What will be the shutter speed for 24 frame at 1sec
That'll be 24x quick motion :)
I believe the MOST IMPORTANT thing in S&Q mode is to buy a SDXC v90 memory card 😂😂
That is the next investment! I'm just put off because of needing an adapter for the computer 😅. The v60 card though does everything fine thankfully - except for 120fps 😁
