  • ‘I don’t regret ANYTHING!’ Martin Keown on Van Nistelrooy, Man United and the Battle of Old Trafford. It's 20 years since Martin Keown and Ruud van Nistelrooy locked horns.
    Old Trafford, September 21, 2003. It was the escalation of years of intense rivalry between the two best teams in the county and, after Van Nistelrooy missed a late penalty in the 0-0 draw, Keown's taunting celebration earned him a reputation and created one of the Premier League's iconic images. This week, the cameras were rolling in our 'It's All Kicking Off' studio with podcast hosts Ian Ladyman and Chris Sutton, a former opponent of Keown's, firing in the questions. Keown - a Mail Sport columnist - dropped in to answer for his sins.

    49 games unbeaten. As an Arsenal fan I'm more proud of that, than going the season unbeaten. When we surpassed Nottingham Forest's 42 game unbeaten run.

    Martin Keown must be so delusional if he doesn't think Arsenal were filled with divers & dirty players. Yet they think v.Nistelrooy of all players was those things 😂 you could tell they just hated the fact he won ManUtd the league the previous season.
    Arsenal always coped at OldTrafford hmmm 6-1??

      @northbankgooner6126 Před 3 měsíci

      Get over yourself, how many times did you win the league at Highbury? Keown was old school wouldn't take any nonsense from anyone, not like Van Horseface who went down as soon as he was touched by a feather.

    • @FootkerSnookball
      @FootkerSnookball Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@northbankgooner6126 Who cares about what ground you win a league title lol typical Arsenal fan bragging about stupid things rather than how many they've won because they couldn't win many. It's nothing more than the luck of the fixture scheduling. Besides ManUtd virtually did win the PL at Highbury in 2002/03 because it was quite clear Arsenal needed to win that game but they failed (despite 2 offside goals for T.Henry) and Campbell got himself a nice suspension making it ManUtd with huge advantage which obviously they took.

      @@FootkerSnookball Who cares? Anyone who understands how difficult it is to win the title at your rivals ground. We have done it at Anfield, Old Trafford, The Lane and Stamford Bridge. The win at Anfield was a title decider. If you can't see the achievement in that you don't know a lot about our beautiful game. You come across as just a tad plastic, ever been to OT?

    • @FootkerSnookball
      @FootkerSnookball Před 3 měsíci

      @@northbankgooner6126 You come across ignorant. Hence why you asked me if I've ever been to OldTrafford because you're losing the argument. In 2001/02 Arsenal only needed a draw to win the title ar OT and ManUtd didn't even have Beckham nor start v.Nistelrooy etc...and also it was 0-0 and ManUtd could've settled for that if didn't need to win but did and the only goal came from a counter attack it wasn't that special and Arsenal celebrated their first major trophy in 4 years like they'd just won the Treble besides even that 01/02 season ManUtd's stronger ChampionsLeague campaign had a contribution to Arsenal having an advantage in the PL, a bit like 97/98 in fact.
