There are certainly plenty of mercenaries out there....but what about clubs showing they care to players? Players are commodities to the clubs. Clubs sell off their youth players, ditch their injured & old. lowball contracts.

I remember watching that game. The Arsenal players lost their heads. That's what happened. Veira kicked out at Van Nistelrooy. The ref seen it and sent him off for violent conduct. Known, Parlour then went after Van Nistelrooy after he missed the penalty. They done the same the year later when they got beat at old Trafford. Pizza Gate. You can be a bad loser but still conduct yourself the right way. The Arsenal mob around this time were a disgrace. Keown can paint this sort of picture (which is interesting) but the reality is what you see on the cameras. Life can be mad sometimes. Things always come back to haunt you. I still remember Van Nistelrooy screaming down the camera a year on after he scored the penalty and United ended Arsenal's unbeaten run.

Whenever something like that happens to Ruud he always manages to get revenge. 😅
Like the season after this one he scores a penalty to help end Arsenal's 49 game unbeaten streak.
Then in 2005 an Andorran player laughs in his face after he missed a penalty. He goes on to score and celebrate in that same player's face as he in turn makes a surprised pikachu face. 😳

This was the difference between Arsenal 2004 and Chelsea 2005.
Yes Arsenal were unbeaten but the number of draws that could and SHOULD have been defeats. This one, Yakubu's sitter missed for Portsmouth.
Chelsea might have lost 1 game but they were far more dominant in the rest than Arsenal were.
Chelsea: you wondered what it was going to take to stop them.
Arsenal: you always knew it would just take one team to get stuck into them to end the run. And of course that's what Man United eventually did

Strange that Martin didn't get a red card after the game was over for taking a swipe at RVN. If he claimed that RVN feigned an injury then why didn't RVN do it again when Keown took a swipe at him ? It shows that Keown made a false accusation

Viera got himself sent off. If he didn't kick out at ruud then he wouldn't of get sent off simple as that. Ruud didn't go down, he stepped back when viera kicked out at him. and looked at the ref and was like "did you see that ref". There was no contact but the intent was there and that's why he got a red card. Keown talking absolute rubbish here.
