Its crazy that Cristiano Ronaldo played that whole game and got in a scuffle with the Arsenal players in the end, and now 18 years later he's playing for Man United again
Ray parlour king of the understatement. “We woz a bit out of order” “we went a bit over the top” “jens Lehman a bit of a lunatic”
It wasn’t that bad tbf.
I miss that rivarly alot man. To me it was way more than El Classico. Those were the days. Arsenal vs United.
I like Parlour, real Arsenal. But he was off the mark here as Arsenal were bang to rights and the Van Nistelrooy incident heralded the rise to make history. First of all, it showed just how Arsenal moved as a unit, were strong, firm, and still had some of the mid to late 80s Arsenal in them. Keane wanted none of it with them here, and in '89 Rocastle, Davis, Adams and the rest stuck it on McClair, Hughes, Erwin and dem. The 'Invincibes' Arsenal were a far cry from modern Arsenal, they've totally lost it now in terms of their heritage, philosophy and strength.
@@davyjones-locker979 it’s all Wenger’s fault, he was trying to fix a problem that didn’t exist. If he stuck with the grit and tenacity of those teams he built before. Arsenal wouldn’t have fallen so far behind but as the saying goes there’s a lot of clarity in hindsight.
@@montanaprime i knew when arsenal engaged a man who managed to loose with a brilliant monaco side against a dire bremen sidein a european final that he would be the wrong man for the arsenal. he changed slowly butgradually the whole adn of the club...and definitely for the worse. his early wins related on the famous arsenal team spirit build under george graham added by the buy of, in fairness three good players, in vieira, petit and overmars.
but he had no clue of defense at all. it started all in the 1998 season. when alex manninger came in for the big yorkshire man,he was better and never ever should have been replaced again. first big big mistake...and it continued endlessly after that one. but hey...it's history.
@@montanaprime a problem did exist, it was not being able to afford the next Vieira, Henry, Pires due to a penny pinching board.
Technical ability + Physical specimen = Top Dollar
Technical ability + lightweight = Cheaper
I love Ray parlour's stories when he tells them , he doesn't leave any details out and don't tip-toe around and leave details out like most footballers do 👍
It should all be irrelevant tho. Fact is if ruud scores that pen ( like he always does) utd win and Arsenal don't go a season unbeaten and there's no such thing as the invincibles
The same as if schmeichel didn't save that pen in 99. Giggs goal never happens and Utd never win the treble. As a certain someone once said "Football bloody hell"
Such an iconic moment. Etched in my brain.
Loved the way Ray Parlour was giving it to Ruud too afterwards. Such raw passion
Thank you both; I absolutely enjoyed this episode. it’s like having a lense to look into behind the scene
Way way back when Arsenal had backbone, passion and spirit, not like Banter FC of recent years
Recent decade mate
you act like it was the past. it will only a few years ago.
Indeed. Arsenal moved as a unit, were strong, firm, and still had some of the mid to late 80s Arsenal in them. Keane wanted none of it with them here, and in '89 Rocastle, Davis, Adams and the rest stuck it on McClair, Hughes, Erwin and dem. @@davyjones-locker979 the invincible team was soft.
our last good teamspirit we got it in the 2002 squad.
just my opinion.
“Paul Scholes played his part in that midfield as well” Groundbreaking stuff
Having recently watched an interview with Rudd discussing this
I know he would laugh his head off at this video 🤣👏
I remember this game, the drama was great! Miss games like this now big time!!!
Brilliant Ray ...... love the detail of your football stories
Poor Ray, 40% of his future earnings signed away to a gold digging harlot.
Then they wonder why men now go red-pill!
Remember how gutted I was when ruud missed that and not thinking if he scores the invincibles never happen lol
That one penalty changed the history of football
The brawl he was on about was october 1990 that was the day i started supporting The Arsenal il never forget that game .

Love Ray Parlour Romford boy, classic
Funny how Guendouzi showed a bit of passion and he got kicked out the team. How times have changed 😂
Complete wet wipe society
Ray is flipping HILARIOUS, could listen to him all day.😛
The Romford Pelé , just ordered your book Ray
I remember watching that penalty live in "The Kings Head" (Balham, South London) like it was yesterday 😳. Back then when it was fun, to go down the pub and watch Arsenal vs ManU.
It's a cliche, but today's kids will never get it. This rivalry, was a CULTURAL EVENT!!!. Didn't matter whether it was a meaningless pesky cup, first round tie. They both fielded their strongest teams and absolutely went for it. We all usually went down the pub (regardless of whether it was on a rainy Wednesday night) to watch the game. Then at half-time, you'd put money in the jukebox (pint in hand), pick a few songs, then have a quick game of pool on the small green table, before the second half started 😍.
Oh those were the fun days, before we all grew old and cynical, and got weighed down with the weight of the world, on our shoulders! 😢
I can't believe its been 18 years. Seems like it was just yesterday...
Ray 's top geezer, could listen to his stories for hours!!!!
I was in the Old Dairy in North London that night, arsenal fan's went berserk and I seriously thought they'd lost their mind's, all hell broke lose, crazy moment

From the late 90s to the mid noughties. Msn utd v Arsenal was the best fixture in premier league history. Both teams were superb and at their peak.
Rays well proud of his stories
Love Ray class act
"I did catch him " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
U mean u punch him 🤣🤣🤣
Love Ray ❤️🏴👍
and Ray probably drank 17 pints after the game too. LOL
I can listen to Ray stories all day 😊
Ray with his impeccable English grammar skills 🤦🤦🤣🤣🤣
the opposite of Simon Jordan😂
lol, come on though. You know most football players have not studied the basics of English grammar.
What about Mario Balotelli scoring 2 goals including a 97 minute late equaliser earning his team a draw!!! 😲
His celebration is worth watching! 😎
The media do not care about Man City unless it’s something negative 😂have you not realised this yet or not?
@@justjuice2217 it's because city are a small club
Ray Parlours a sick guy
Never ever get rivalry like that today players too busy being best mates kissing and hugging in the tunnel before every game

Wow. The story about Hong Kong and the fight in the triad area didn’t know Ray got involved in anything like that. 😂
He would have been in Wanchai hey? Miss that place. I knew Triads when I lived in Yuen Long. The boss was a lovely guy, if you ignored all that stuff you heard he got up to. Always looked after me and I didn't ask any questions.
They could make a documentary about this match
Why I loved the arsenal players for that 🤣🤣
For me the best thing about that scene of Keown on Van Nistelrooy is a Young Cristiano Ronaldo try a back his team mate. Hard to believe that his the only current player still playing from that era. Remember watching this game live. This was the only chance for Man Utd to stop the Invincibles from finishing unbeaten the whole season
We was?inventing new grammar?😂
Sure me and my older brother had a fight watching that game🤣🤦
“We was” ever heard of ‘were’, Ray? 🤦🏻♂️
I know, but you know how it is used among many people. Not all have had the opportunity to study the basics of how English grammar works. But he sure knows how football works!
Stop policing someone's grammar. He is not doing a TED Talk FFS.
Ray parlour 🤣 can’t stop laughing, such a good story teller.
While it was all kicking off Parlour was up against Gary Neville
We were. Were. Learn to conjugate.
I started supported United since then and I hated Arseanal and even now I hate them more than liverpool
Five grand fine for Lauren was getting off lightly. There's a great photo of him holding Phil Neville by the throat, looking like he's about to rip it out
Not really in think he was hit hardest in terms of suspension 4 games if I remember correctly
Great 0-0
For Gods sake , let him speak 😠
Is this the only Ray Parlour story that doesn't involve at least a few pints?
The Chelsea of today are the Arsenal of yesterday power leaders winners
Only because of Abramovich.
Little bit out of order. Was bloody disgraceful. Great era of football though.
Meh wasn’t that bad. RvN was a knobend.
@@leemcqueen500 not being biast are you towards arsenal probably a arsenal supporter lol.
Ray Parlour is my favourite. He has a cool accent and is a real gentleman. But I love Simon Jordan's vocabulary. To be honest all of these men are good-looking and cool. That's coming from a straight man
We WERE a bit out of Order. Sorry but that really bothers me.
Patrick V kicked out and Nistelrooy. That in itself is a red card offence so I’m not sure how people still say Nistelrooy got PV sent off!??
How can Andy think Utd are still the best team with Liverpool Chelsea and City, Utd aint on their level ffs what a deluded Poofter 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
He was happy his x lost 4k because of him 😂😂
If you watch the video so-called tough guy Keane was nowhere to be seen defending his teammates....
The return game … when ruud scored that pen !!! 😎🙏🏽
It wasn’t the return game it was the season after but yeah
"They were the team to beat," so they beat them. Literally. I remember that match; it was insane after Ruud missed the penalty. I was shocked to see a United player being bullied by Arsenal at Old Trafford.
You would take them 0-0s all th time in this day & age!
A bit, A BIT..
I must admit, I would have reacted a little more hostile than Nistelrooy in that situation lol.
Sorry hardnut
@@bilalrauf2493 Oh you will be sorry, I'm a student of ze dark arts. Parlour and Keown's time will come, when they least expect it... :|

Like a Rooney was every day
@@snkneo-geo933 if you would have said keane then i would agree but now you are a fool
I like parlour but he would have stuck the nut on ruud if he could have got away with it- watch it 😂
Nothing done about tipical arsenal getting away with murder if that was united half team banned
Van Nistelrooy was also out of order, cheating little diver.
Also, that was never ever a penalty against Martin Keown. Hardly any contact on Forlan.
Our club will happily take the fines for celebrating how we did at the end, look what United get away with in comparison. Went on to go unbeaten for an entire season, GG
That’s was discussing behaviour
Nah sis, that was when Arsenal had passion, strength and concern to win.
RVN was one of the biggest cheats the premier league has seen but for some reason gets a pass, there was nothing out of order there.
All that booze has affected Ray's ability to talk.
Seems like he’s talking just fine, wtf are you talking about ?
I understood every word.
Keone was stupid showed himself up!
Ruud typical cheating united around that time getting vieira sent off.
You were a disgrace! Got away with murder! Love Keown though. Beast! Nasty. Out of order?
'we WERE* A bit out of order'. Stop pushing plebeian and uneducated diction from the mouths of uneducated footballers. It just ends up trickling down to kids watching, and then you have a whole new generation of parlour's and jenas'. All barely able to string a sentence together 🤦🏻♂️
Thank you very much!
Take a chill pill mate.
Yeah. It's like saying Haitch instead of H (Aitch).
I'm a gooner and I loves this...
But almost every player in that clip has something bad to say about players now.... they have a fucking cheek....lol...all ex players should watch they own clips b4 they talk about others.
P.s van nistelrooy didn't even diva for the pen.... he just took the pen... we were out of order lol
Funny how its worked out you bullied us that day but year later we bullied u and rooneys pen now average teams bully arsenal every week and now yous are a spent force in english football.

Damn right arsenal scumbags showing their true colours. An absolute disgrace. Should’ve had life bans from football
Parlour was like Robbie Savage he'd start a fight get slapped then run to the Referee,I was there that day yet even though Martin Keown was taking care of Van Nistlerooy Parlour had to get himself involved by slapping Van Nistlerooy in the stomach then when Keane walked over Parlour stood next to Patrick Viera as he's an absolute Coward I'd have loved to see Keown and Parlour if the Penalty taker was " Big Duncan Ferguson " ? Parlour would still be looking for his Teeth 🤣😂🇾🇪🏴
Arsenal small club 0 Champions Leagues.
Keown was a terrible footballer. A tramp also. He was a poor man’s To ny Adams
I was so mad at those arsenal players back then
It looks worse cause ruud didn't stand up for himself. He should have pushed back. He turned into a turtle.
He acted like a professional, just like sir Alex said. Man Utd standards.
He was devastated that he missed. Dont think he cared about the little punch and slap. You can tell his brain was somewhere else
