This Benz is stuck in LIMP mode and won't go faster than 30 mph! This is actually a common issue and an easy repair for these cars. In today's video I'll be replacing the transmission conductor plate on this 2000 Mercedes C230k with the 4-speed automatic 722.6 transmission. These transmissions can actually be very reliable and cheap to maintain. Even this repair really didn't cost too much.
This repair is the same for all C-Class, E-Class, M-Class, S-Class, SL-Class, & Sprinter from '97 to '14.

Can you give a hint on what should be the problem? If I experience harsh shifts in low gears, it feels like a big kick when the transmission shifts down when the car is slowing down.
Change the filter and fluid. Most people never do.
If the problem still persists, replace the conductor plate and that should fix it. All 3 of my Mercedes shift smooth now after being in limp mode or hard shifting
Could this be the reason my 2005 e500 722.6 is stuck in first gear?? It sat up for 4 years .. (I was locked up!!) when I started driving it , it won’t shift out of first gear … only has 101K miles on it
Yes, that or shift soleniod that is connected. Any codes pop up?
Hello , i have an issues with my nag1 im stuck in first gear due to limp mode. The code is p0748 i change the solénoïde and the plate same issues ..... It can be something else ?
Did you reset the TCU with the correct scanner? Has to be reset from the box under the hood otherwise th problem will remain
Looks like they decided to put a VCR into the transmission. Must be that $1 technology from NASA that the automotive industry bought😂😂😂😂 everything is going to disposable now
Crazy part is, they used this part all the way thru 2016 and possibly beyond. If you see a Mercedes in limp mode. It's likely this conductor plate
@@Mechani_Cole I bought a 2001 Chevy Malibu for my wife at the time. She thought the Malibu could possibly pass as a car I would work on. LOL
Tbh that valve body looks far less menacing then the usual bunch 😅
no error appears, but the gearbox sometimes goes into limp mode
and I have to turn off the car and start it again, what could be the reason for this problem
Same issue. The conductor plate is about to go bad. Or the transmission range selector
