Namek saga (was the strongest Z fighter before Goku returned, the one who kept them in the fight after 2nd form Freeza. Also his tie with Kami / Earth’s dragon balls)
Buu saga (was the main catalyst from the Z gang who convinced the rest to follow Kaio Shin and fight Babidi)
I’d say he stayed relevant, even when he was outmatched by both friends and foes.

The soundtrack that was playing for piccolo's power up was Super Namek by Bruce Faulconer
Picollo was a lot stronger than Cell at this point. Cell's actually weaker little weaker than the Androids right now. One of the reasons why he's feeding on so many humans is so he can gather enough energy to become stronger than them so they won't be able to stop him absorbing them. The show explains it a lot better than the game did.
But he killed future trunks who had killed the androids in his time…
@@danflad6077 he killed them with the Remote. He found the Blueprints of the Androids in Dr. Geros lab and let his mom rebuild a remote control and used it instead of crushing it like Krillin
@@danflad6077 It was explained that in the future he was the strongest fighter that could beat even trunks, but had to return to his larva-state to go back to the past, which literally reset all the progress he had made before. That's why he's weaker now compared to him before. Also, this scene was in the video, starting from 13:55.
@@danflad6077 Sure, but we don't know exactly HOW Trunks did that (rather than simply overpowering them, for example, maybe in that timeline, Bulma's switch-off button worked, and Trunks took a similar device back to his own time and used that to destroy the Androids).
It's also worth noting that that strength of the androids seems to vary by timeline. The ones in the main DBZ timeline are stronger than the ones our Trunks is familiar with. It could be that the ones from that Trunk's timeline are even weaker.
Cell might have also absorbed a lot of humans to become much, much stronger and then lost a lot of that power when he reverted to his larva (we know from future events that he does consume a lot of people before he confronts our Trunks).

Piccolo was actually toying with Cell at this time around, for some reason they cut out the part where Piccolo ripped out his arm that was already absorbed, and regenerated a new one.

In the anime, on namek guru says that piccolo if he had remained whole with kami then he would have been strong enough to save namek on his own. Or at least I believe he says something along those lines
Unfortunately, despite his boasting, we never get to see Cell perform the Spirit Bomb in the TV show or the manga.
However, it _is_ an unlockable move in the DBZ fighting games on PlayStation 2, and the devs made it extra funny. Cell literally has to _threaten_ the planet into giving him energy for the attack, when Goku only had to ask it politely.

Piccolo is the character I think is the most underrated. He was so cool up until the Android/Cell Sagas, then nothing after 🤦♂️😒
Just to clarify: Cell absorbed a Trunks that could go Super Saiyan, but one that hadn’t had the opportunity to go training with Vegeta like you just witnessed in-game. The whole Hyperbolic Time Chamber event is a direct result of the butterfly effect from Trunks spending time in the past; the longer he stays in the past, the more Trunks has changed from his “other” self that got eaten.
In terms of how this affects Cell’s power it’s a relatively minor change as Cell is now making up a good part of the power difference by now going on absorbing sprees, but that’s time travel shenanigans for you. 😂

I love this form of Cell, it’s so grossly disturbing and torturously twisted. The voice fits him perfectly, as he looks like a monstrous bug humanoid. I can’t imagine him with a normal voice. That sounds like it would be cursed

Saiyan cells means that Cell has access to all the genetically based abilities of the Saiyans, not to mention the rest of the Z-Fighters, and Frieza, as well as knowing ALL their techniques. In truth though, you probably wouldn't be able to tell whenever he did it, all he get's is the golden aura, no other change.
He doesn’t have all the cells from every Z fighter. Cell does not contain any Gohan.

I'm not english so I apologize If I'll write something wrong, I just wanna explain that cell come from an another timeline than the trunks one, there's the present timeline, the trunks with android 17 & 18 timeline and the cell's timeline. I didn't like DB before my cousins told me about this arc when I was like 11, I started watching it on TV when vegita got destroyed by 18. Then people disappearing from cities got me hooked! They didn;t show cell for many episodes and I was so excited and terrified haha not mentioning Goku sleeping for weeks of TV time

Cell didn't actually kill future, future Trunks. He's from a whole different timeline. Simply put Cell created the timeline of Future Trunks because he was the first to travel back into the past. And Future Trunks himself created the timeline you're currently watching. But as I said that keeping things simple. The whole timeline stuff in Dragonball is much more complex.
he did kill a version of future trunks actually. the future trunks that went back already and figured out how to disable 17 and 18. just not the future trunks that we all see in the show all the time
