Cell legit has one of the best and most haunting villain introductions in Anime period. Very nearly a masterclass in villain introduction and projecting a mysterious and disorienting vibe.
and then he gets immediately jobbed out by a b-tier character. Glad they showed Piccolo some love in the new movie atleast.

Not just haunting, but legitimately creepy... scary, even. The transition between the Android and Cell arcs go from mystery thriller to horror, and it's honestly amazing. This whole section gave me chills the first time, and I still find it very suspenseful, even though I know what's going to happen.

Imperfect Cell is by far my favorite DBZ villain. He is creepy, smart, witty, and has a badass Faulconer theme.
Design wise. Imperfect Cell might be the best villain visually and in personality. He has the sinister and creepy tone every decent villain should have.

Cell has the best villain introduction in Dragon Ball, his introduction is like it was taken out of a horror movie along with his design. The way they showed how Cell absorbed people was truly disturbing. Dragon Ball was really pushing the boundaries of what a "kids' show" should be.
Goku Black’s introduction was as haunting.

Absolutely 💯
This is one of the biggest things that separate DBZ from DBS. Its the villains. The villains are so lackluster and do not compare to DBZ in the slightest. I would never forget watching this show when I was younger and they introduced Cell by having him impale a guy with his tail and start drinking him from the inside while he is screaming and Piccolo is just watching then Cell telling him he is next. Or when Frieza is introduced by showing him and his people slaughter innocent people including killing children for the lol. Like this shows how dark and dangerous these villains are and you feel scared for our heroes anytime they go up against them. Those scenes of Frieza and Cell being introduced I will never forget watching those for the first time when I was a kid.
Well DBS only had one true new villain, which was Goku Black. The rest were antagonists that weren't evil, or returning villains (Frieza).

The rules in japan for tv broadcasting changed in 2006 or so because they think anime makes people too violent. So they probably made the plot more lighthearted to have no problems boardcasting it.
I don't like Super, but Zamasu/black was a great villain and had depth in his character
I do like "The Namek" line. In modern context it could separate itself from the term Namekian, as The Namek could mean the embodiment of all kinds of aspects of Planet Namek. He now has so much essence of Namek. THE Namek.
I'm a Kai fan so I wasn't familiar with this line.

I liked the way they animated the power ups. Their bodies were vibrating and u could tell they were powering up and shaking from pushing each other back with the release of their power.
You know what's the funniest thing when watching y'all's reactions is that she'll always question everything and then look at you like you really going to tell her anything and she know you not going to tell her but she still ask questions and still look at you like you really going to tell her something 🤣
The way Cell was brought in lurking around the Shadows he was very creepy and terrifying but it shows how well of a job they did.
They invested a lot of time in Cell and one thing I noticed about him is that he doesn't waste a lot of time talking he gets right into it.
If you're his enemy he's not going to waste to much time in trying to kill you.
Tbh yes Imperfect Cell and Semi Perfect Cell are the ones who don’t waste time and get to the point but Perfect Cell well he does talk

A long time ago, a Namekian child came to Earth in a strange spacecraft. The name of that Namekian child was Katas. He lived at Yunzabit Heights alone into his adulthood. Eventually he started exploring the rest of the planet and during his exploration he met the Guardian of the Earth. Katas wanted to be his replacement but had to expel the darkness within him first. When the process was complete Katas’s good half was named Kami, and his evil half was named Piccolo.
The episode where Piccolo and Kami join together was Piccolo’s final episode, Kami’s final episode and Katas’s debut episode. When Katas became a single lifeform again, he decided to use Piccolo’s body instead of going back to his original body. Since he was so young when he came to Earth along with his soul being split into 2 half-souls for such a long time, Katas actually forgot what his name was. Unable to remember his name, he decides to call himself “The Namek”.
Each individual gives off their own unique energy signature so let’s say for example Piccolo’s energy is yellow, Kami’s energy is blue and Katas’s energy is green. Dr. Gero knew about Piccolo (yellow) and Kami (blue) but didn’t know anything about Katas (green) and because of that, Android 16 and Cell also don’t know anything about Katas. Since Katas’s new body was originally Piccolo’s, he’s naturally giving off a very miniscule amount of yellow physical energy. However, when he powers up in front of Cell, he isn’t pumping out yellow and/or blue spiritual energy from his body, he’s unleashing an unbelievable amount of green spiritual energy and so, Android 16 and the Z-fighters didn't recognize this power. Cell quickly realized that his opponent isn’t Piccolo, and he stops calling him by that name and begins addressing him as “Namek”.

15:18 This animation scene always stuck out to me and stayed ingrained in my memory. The whole thing of cell flying fast up into the sky backwards, coming to a quick and sudden stop with his tail waving and all the sound effects to go along with it always looked so cool to me.

To explain it Madison this is from the Dragonball wiki about Cell’s absorption.
Cell is able to absorb energy or even entire beings through his tail, gaining all of the strength of the person he has absorbed. He has two methods of absorption: the first method is to stab his target with the sharp end of his tail. The tail will then extract all of the organic matter of the victim, leaving the clothing behind. The process appears quite agonizing for the victim. According to Cell, this is how he feeds, as he often licks his lips before consuming a large population or an android. He also states that the more he eats, the hungrier and stronger he becomes. While this form of absorption is unusable on mechanical beings and is much less versatile in comparison to Majin Buu's absorption technique, Cell's absorption via stabbing the victim with his tail is the only form of absorption used in the series that makes the victim completely unable to be freed, due to the victim being broken down into genetic material and then integrated directly into Cell's body. During his first confrontation with Piccolo, acid dripped from his stinger, indicating that the absorption might happen by injecting a digestive enzyme into the victim and absorbing the dissolving genetic extract.

This was by far one of my favorite episodes ever! PiccoKamNai (Super Namek) going all out and this new monstrous antagonist had no idea how anyone knew of the time capsule he traveled in from 4 years ago.

Piccolo can spit out eggs until the writers decide they want to change that. Do you make King piccolo is father of piccolo however it almost seems that he is a reincarnation of piccolo. Piccolo was dying from an attack from Goku so he put all his life energy into a egg and regressed back similar to what cell has done but for different reasons which will not be discussed here.

Yha so cell's weakness was actually pointed out from the start and that is absorption issue. As the more he abrobs the more he isn't him self so as he had all the saiyan cells inside him he tends to act like a saiyan specially vegeta. So the more you see cell he holds he's rampage and turn it into a challenge cause well he has lots of saiyan cells inside him that changes he's DNA and personality. As what's funny is he had everyone in the z fighters DNA except for piccolo and gohan which is odd to me that he didn't have piccolo's DNA before he came into this time line.
Cell does have the cells from gohan and piccolo dr gero got those cells throughout the years tissue sample, blood sample from any battle so he probably got gohan's and piccolo's during the saiyan saga

Fun fact Freeza was brought back for super because the artists hated drawing Cell because of all the black spots.
That was an awesome start of the fight and an epic ending. That was a great kick by The Namek to start things off and how he delivered it. Madison is pretty smart, it's funny to hear her ask all these questions and freak out. Nice job keeping your composure and not answering a single one. I am ready for the next epsoide, 143 lets do this!
The horror and mysterious elements of the android saga makes it my favorite saga
Since Madison is genuinely curious, I can tell ya. Feel free to tell her that Cell's tail immobilizes those stung. Once stung, there is a substance inside the tail that basically melts the bones from inside (comparable to something corrosive) - thus making it possible to extract their entire body from the inside. That's how Cell can absorb whole persons. Let me know if you plan on telling her!
It's a digestive enzyme that breaks down the body on a molecular level making it easy for cell to absorb people ence why the man was screaming being melted from the inside

I really wish I saw DBZ blindly like Madison is seeing right now. When I was a kid, I only got to see up to right after Frieza killed Vegeta. After we moved, my parents decided not to have cable for few years. Then I got spoiled by everyone everywhere, talking about Super Saiyans and about what's been happening in the Cell Saga. Then once I got cable again, I could only start watching from Majin Buu Saga...! 😑 Therefore my experience was nowhere near the same like most people for those reasons. It was infuriating, since this was/is still my favorite show.
Thanks again for daily episodes and letting us experience it with y'all again! Cell Saga was the one arc I NEVER got to fully see until social media got popular!

been watching along, one thing i think you guys are missing and the English dub kinda messes up. that when piccolo and kami when they merge they go back to the original power they had when they were one. Nail pretty says as much when he tells piccolo if he was hes original self he would have destroyed frieza no problem, and when piccolo says im the namek. kami originally didnt have any memorie of his past or name driving more to the point that kami and piccolo go back to who they were.
