    Even if there was no mass influx of tourism after the HBO series, thanks to Honest Guide now it's inevitable =^ . ^=

    I get it when the guide says do not make jokes about 3 headed foxes and such, it was a tragedy, a lot of people lost their lives, let's be a bit considerate!

    I wanted to visit Chernobyl even before I saw the HBO series. I hope it doesn't get overrun by tourists like many places do

    Is it just me or someone thinks too that some of the dolls/plates/stuff are placed there on purpose, to add more spookiness to the already creepy environment?

      Yes, a lot of stuff got moved around since the disaster. There were looters, rogue artists, stalkers, etc.

    I've been in 2010, we were almost alone there back then.

    I also wanted to go but let it go last January 2020 when I was in Kviy. Shame on me.
    And why I wanted to go? Because I lived it from far away in Europe but I was a 7yo kid when that happened. And when I was a kid there's been two very things that were concerning me: 1. How was life in the URSS and occupied countries from Berlin on (Eastern Europe) that we seen from so far away and so different, and 2. The accident.
    So my curiosity on how was life in the URSS in 1986 and coming back to the past when I was 7 but in a totally different social and political environment never stopped since kid.
    Seing the place vandalized makes me angry and sad. The "grace" of the place is: It was a time capsule.

    What about the guides? Doesn't the radiation impact them over time? Did you talk to Sergej about that?
    Great video as always! Love from Germany

      I guess the guides have bigger problems in life than radiation.

    I've always wanted to visit Chernobyl and Pripyat, but I feel that more tourism may ruin the history behind the site. Maybe I'll go one day!

      The people had to leave their life and many belongings behind. The dolls seem to belong to the children who lived there

    If this continues, logic tells me that cancer cases should go up with this kind of truism as well. You think you need to go to Chernobyl to see decrepit and abandoned buildings in Ukraine or Russia? lol

    • @OnionReloaded
      @OnionReloaded Před 3 lety +1

      There's a reason why they let tourists enter the exclusion zone. Do u think they would let anyone in if it was dangerous?

    • @MeshFrequency
      @MeshFrequency Před 3 lety

      @@OnionReloaded Its post USSR Ukraine that is not doing well in many ways. They need the money that tourism brings and they don't give a f@ck about dumb ass westerners playing pretend Call of Duty. Remember you are dealing with eastern Europe post Soviet rule. Very harsh places to live in.
