Can you ask the web developer to add en English version? I went to donate but I couldnât because of this.
Welcome home Janek .. I was enjoying watching your U.S adventures on IG
I was going to donate, but the site isn't in English - Google Translate is ok, but the currency needs to be Selectable for ease of use.
I also wish the site was in English as well. I would love to donate, but it is a bit confusing for me.
Please make the website in English too. I do not understand a word on the website.
Greets from the Netherlands. We love our bells too.
Really hope you guys are getting the recognition you deserve from the authorities in Prague, from the bell projects and promotion for the destination to getting scammers off the streets and making people aware of their tactics - it's all brilliant!
Yeaaa, but sadly they don't đ„Č
The authorities kind of hate them because they actually try to hold the authorities to account.
Czechia is a lost country regarding authorities. They're on their own.
@@klamin_original you know this as fact?? I mean I guessed they donât because authorities at least some probably hate him for showing them how to do their job right, whilst most probably appreciate the fact that heâs lowering the crime rate, and catching scammers/thieves, with evidence*. But idk though I donât live there
Now I wonder if this guy is so popular and he definately cares about the city, maybe he should try running for the mayor's office?
I'm actually impressed that so many bells were replaced so quickly after the 1st WW.
Anyway, amazing idea and I hope it works out!
They probably went , somebody else just gonna take them away the 3rd time around. screw it.
Soon after WWII communists took over banned religion and arrested priests.
@@MrsZuzanaN I know. How does that relate to what I said?
Czechoslovakia ended WW2 with a communist administration and I imagine that would have something to do with the lack of funding for church bells.
This channel is the reason why I'm visiting Prague soon. You've guy have done so much for tourism and your country. Thank you truly.
I had no idea that the Nazis stole so many bells from the Czech Republic. But considering the other atrocities they committed, I am not surprised. Very sad. đ„ș
they farm metal for war effort or rebuild after war
They needed metal for ammunition and guns during their campaing in the Soviet Union..
They took bellâs from every country they occupied during WW 2
They scrap any metal, specialy gold and silver.
Looting is a practice as old as war itself. The Nazi's took it to the next level by stealing objects like the Amber Room though.
Some may say it's sentimental but bells are such important pieces of art in a city- hell, I rarely hear one ring these days where I'm from but it's beautiful when I hear one. Good job, guys! Watching your vids- scam spotting or not, it just makes me excited to travel there myself.
Bells are annoying. Scrap them all.
Well, of course there is a neat pro/con list of arguments when it comes to church bells being an integral part of occidental cultural heritage. On one hand, they certainly do give a subliminal sense of comfort and security, especially in more rural areas. On the other hand, they DO NOT necessarily need to ring during night time or âstorm-ringâ people out of their sleep by force at the brink of dawn like in some areas. The times of a vast majority of people primarily doing farmwork all day is long gone.
If we could find an agreement by silencing them at least between midnight and 7:00 in the morning, everyone could benefit.
So if you are German and your family has a huge bell in their backyard...maybe it's time to return it.
Czech bells are not in germany, there are somewhere in London's underground, still waiting for explosion :-)
@@Pidalin 1:34 it says they were taken to Hamburg / Germany so there might still be some
@@purpleplant3842 oof I doubt it maybe one or 2 but all the rest had to have been melted down you canât hide a bell that big theyâre worth thousands especially WWII Bells theyâre worth even more because thatâs considered war memorabilia, people will pay a nice shiny Bitcoin for a bell like that
@@purpleplant3842 There were a lot of Bells in Hamburg/Germany. But they are all gone now...
I donated! Cheers from California! Let's do this!
Thank you so much!!!
I've lived in Oxford UK known as the city of spires for the number of churches and therefore church bells it has including the famous (or if you live local the incredibly annoying) Tom Tower which strikes 100 times every night at 9:05pm.
I've also worked at the Railway proving centre in Velim which on the way back to the UK means stopping over in Prague. And I've never realised just how quite it is in comparison on a Sunday due to the lack of bells.
Dig deep people, Prague is the missing 8th wonder of the world
to be honest, church bells are pretty annoying, we are country of atheists, they should keep bells as historical artefacts, but not making noise every 15 minutes with that, that's really crazy, it's 21st century, people work on 3 shifts and you don't need to hear what's time
@@Pidalin Lol no Its good nice sound stop using meth And go sleep after work âïž
That is one of the saddest photos, all the bells so silent and ready to die for the war đ„
Would really help out to have an English version of the site.

Donated 500czk to the bell as a beautiful idea for the bell dedicated to the missing bells
This is such a good idea!
I donated! What a beautiful project â„ïž
I wish i was filthy rich... I would write a check for the entire cost immediately. I love this project!
You guys are incredible! I will be proud to know that I had a small part in this project. CZK 250 coming your way from California!
You guys are good, kind, funny, compassionate, generous, progressive, intelligent, honest and inspiring. Imagine if everyone was like you. The ripples from your videos are ever reaching and huge. Keep up the great work; you are our heroes!
I struggled through it a little, but the payment part was in English.
Of course, the millions of lives taken are infinitely more valuable than some cold metal.
And yet, the timeless nature of bells does make them worth preserving, or in this case, recreating. This looks to be an eternal educational project about the depths that some people have gone to in order to eradicate others, but doing this by restoring beauty to the city. I look forward to hearing how this progresses, and can't wait to visit when complete.
One way to heal and move on from the loss is by rebuilding that which was taken. Restoring the bells is largely just symbolic, but symbols have power.
Happy to contribute towards the memorial bell. Best of luck with the fundraiser!
never been in prague ... but this man makes me so interested in this city and the culture ^^ and a giant new bell :D greeting from germany!
I just gave for your project. Good luck. I was in Prague in November 2021 and your videos were very helpful. I love your city.
An Englisch Website would be nice đ
I was going to ask also. It would really help them to raise money from other countries.
The website is in English, at least for me.
I dont think it's just their website though. Looks like a collaboration between multiple parties.
@@RMAPASA The website is in Czech, but Google Translate does a great job of automagically converting it for me (and probably for you, too). I would agree that at least an option for translating it to English (and other languages) would be good.
To make people donate money at the bell statue you need to make it not boring and implement some way that the donation is fun for them. You know the donation boxes where you can donate coins and they spin in a spiral for ages before falling into the bin below? Or the machines where you have to insert âŹ2 en 5 cents and you get the 5 cents back with a pressed design of the place you visited? Or the 0 euro bills you find all over Europe with all the tourist destinations. Maybe let the bell ring 1 time when someone donates 5 or 10 euros, idk, the options are limitless.
That's a brilliant idea
New subscribers here. Just wanted to say we think you are adorable! You have such a happy and HONEST face. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Weâre coming to Prague in June for 6 months. Your words are so helpful.
Ammo made from consecrated church bells?
+100 Holy damage if you ask me
WOW!!! Over one million views for THE HONEST GUIDE. It shows you how many people care and love The Czech Republic...including me.
hope the campaign goes well!
Thats the mist dramatic video i have seen about missing bells in a long time
BEAUTIFUL!!
While restoring the churches would be a great task on itself, I believe Czechia deserves to finally see itself free from this last mark of Nazi oppression.
I cant give much but i will spend 5⏠, i really hope your goal to replace all bells will be received even faster.
In Belgium we also lost a lot of bells during WW II, but by 1960 they were already all replaced.
i donated, good luck on the new bell boys! love your videos, love praha
"All our bells were stolen" *cheery happy music intensifies*
I have an idea for the funding part. Have the bell swing only on WWII memorial days and stuff, but also give it a hammer on the side. A box that collects coins that is connected to the hammer will raise it and the hammer will strike the bell. You decide on the amount of money, but I'm thinking something like a 1 euro coin strikes it once, two euro coin twice, and if you use a bill of 5, it strikes 5 times.
I can not wait to come on Holiday to Prague, im hoping to book my holiday this year! fingers crossed.
Operation Anthropoid, Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich occurred on 27 May 1942 in Prague. By British trained Czechoslovak resistance operatives Jozef GabÄĂk and Jan KubiĆĄ. Heydrich died of his wounds on 4 June 1942.He was one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and an important figure in the rise of Adolf Hitler.
Hitlers revenge was swift , On 9 June 1942, the Germans committed the Lidice massacre; 199 men were killed, 195 women were deported to RavensbrĂŒck concentration camp, and 95 children taken prisoner. Of the children, 81 were later killed in gas vans at the CheĆmno extermination camp, Hitlers orders were 1 Execute all adult men, 2 Transport all women to a concentration camp 3 Gather the children suitable for Germanisation and deport and execute the rest 4 Burn down the village and level it entirely đđ
Hitler showed no mercy
Donationed to help out, good luck in reaching your goal.
Great Idea! Love it
I feel like donations to the bell could give a small toy one and maybe the largest donation or the a lottery for who can ring the bell/help ring it could be a great way to raise money to replace the bells that had been silent.
Wow thats amazing!
Hi Janek ! I suggest you make video about Prague churches that are missing a bell
Extremely awesome.
My city of PrzemyĆl in Poland is famous for bells. There's a foundry, museum of bells. They made the biggest swinging bell in the world (for Brazil). Need a bell, come to PrzemyĆl!
And there is a direct train between Przemysl and Prague :D
Great fortress in prezmsyl.
Probably get a hand job from the priest too.
@@guyjeremschuk4142 Sorry but you're to old

I really don't know if I should feel ashamed as a German or just be fascinated by the facts.
It's not a normal Germans fault
Most of them were just cogs in the war machine doing what they were told
Most of the have mostly nothing to be ashamed off.
They were just soldiers following orders, no more no less.
The higher ups giving the order were the bad ones
@@kleszczoros4885 that's what they all said in the war crimes trials. 'I was just following orders your honor'.
Germans should be ashamed,si many people and almost nobody resist
No one should be ashamed, judged or be responsible for acts of their fathers. Live good life and be nice person, thats the best you can do.
Honestly I think at this point you should be proud how far your nation got since those terrible times. The story of Germany and Japan turning away from centuries of warfare and embarking on path of diplomacy and cooperation is very inspiring and gives me hope for humanity.
We should never forget the past, but we are here to build the future.
I love the list of the project organizers: Geographer and Bell Ringer; Aerospace Engineer and Bell Ringer; Political Scientist and Bell Ringer.
A truly remarkable idea, go for it. Looking forward to reading about the progress on your website (hopefully in English, too).
Orgs are already working on at least basic English version. They've been a bit surprised by the international attention.
Tomorrow to Prague đđ

Is it possible that you could talk to City Hall about displaying the bell somewhere publicly and make it a tourist attraction? Perhaps the bell could hand from a wooden structure next to the Metronome and be rung once a year?
Where are the link to the crowd funding? OK I found it on the Czech website. Thank God for married a czech girl so she could translate.

It would be interesting to know how they pull that bell on top of the church tower! Support this beautiful cause, cheer up!
Haha rich guys having fun XD Love you
You have got some big balls to want to get such a big bell !
Thanks for the English donation page!
I agree with statement in 1:28. Not also just sound was silenced. Big part of history was destroyed on that way too. Neither here in Croatia is better, although our bells weren't taken too much in WWII. Maybe I'll come to Czechia and record some of them. Greetings, Steph
The bells were used to make weapons.... how symbolic at around 1:33.... the bells looking like cannons or mortars.... Good project.
Keep up the great work and expose the scammers!
Let's make those bells ring again
0:48 Oh yes, that is some good quality graph when there are just numbers on the axis but no written explanation to them. I love it.
Edit: It's probably "time" and "amount of bells"
gotta love janek and honza
Put it in the middle of Charles square and I can see Trevi fountain sort of vibes
How about letting people who donate a certain amount... ring the bell? That could be a lot of bell ringing though hahaha.. okay maybe let donators pull the rope/s to help ring the bell?
Hmmm not sure... maybe charge for parking or to have someone give them a tour about the history of the bells like you did for us.
In any case I hope you figure out something and BEST of luck to you all on this endeavor! I will be in Prague this Summer and maybe I will see you out on the streets!
Your advice and information are such a huge confidence booster for me and I'm sure many who visit there!! I look forward to my visit!

Oh my god. How dare them rob the bells?! There's gotta be a way to fix this!
I have 10,000 'Bell'erusian Rubles that I can donate... Can't seem to spend them here ;)
All jokes aside, I think this is a beautiful thing to do, guys
Haha that was a good one
Love u â€ïž
The irony of using church bells to make weaponry always gets me. One gave hope and the sound of freedom to masses, the other just took them away.
No freedom in organised religion.
Which irony? The Vatican supported the Nazis and many wars has been started because of the church!
Hey. I got a suggestion. Why don't you make a small rememberens bell. Then allow people to ring it for 50-100 kc.
Think about it as an option for a instagram and doing a god thing to raise money.
That's a great idea
Or make even miniature ones and sell them for remembrance and as souvenir.
It's a good idea but I wouldn't like to live close to this bell and listen to it every day :D
Could have it in a wing of the church would not sound outside then. Im thinking like a bell that you have like the hight of a person not in a tower.
Great idea!
It does mot have to be 9801 kilos but it can be 9,801 kilos bell that would be cheaper and save money for more :--)
Will you have the link to contribute on future vlogs?
You should sell balloons in the square to raise money

I am Tibetan and I love Czech Republic â€ïž
@honestguide! Iâm going to prauge in april. Can you do a food review but focus on dietary restrictions? Celiac, gluten free. Vegan. Vegetarian. Etc. !?

Iâm looking for the English link. Everything is in Czech. Thanks.
I'd like to replace 36 bells with the ding dong song by the crazy frogs
Nice
Im going to donate...im from Germany sry guysđđ»

Transform bells in bullets, make your enemies listening to hells bells....lolol
Suggestion, why not turn the memorial bell into a wishwell?
This might sound stupid given that this video is about replacing church bells, but does Prague still have the "Midday Bell's" ?
ANO!
Do you work for Yeat?
Do a petition to melt all german WW2 weaponary and make them back into bells.
From one german tank Tiger I you can make like 4-5 bells!
Some may have been happy to not hear bells ringing incessantly.
So how much is the new bell going cost in USD?
2B CZK are 82.5M Euro Or 94.4M USD
Imagine getting all these new bells removed during WW3 XD
Me waiting for the video to release be likeđ¶
Maybe a well under the bell where you can put money in
Great idea. Keep up the good work.
Germany could start with the donation at first...
One done, 9800 to go.
RIP all bells
The old pictures of POW-bells are a sad sight indeed.
I visited the donation website, but it's all in some weird language. Can you please make an english version as well?
Good luck!
It's not a weird language. It's Czech. :-D
