    It is also impressive how each characters last meeting with Obi-Wan goes. One, who has spent all his life hating and hunting Kenobi, having never got to know him other than on the battlefield, is held by Kenobi during his last Moments like a brother. And the other who shares countless memories and a history of friendship with him, does not even recognize his folly when Kenobi "surrenders" and strikes him down in rage only to know another defeat.

    When maul shouted kenobi, it was almost formal. His longest living rival and adversary, that he could never defeat, it’s as if he respects kenobi at least a little bit. Vaders scream, *OBI WAAANNN* was a cry of desperation to an old friend. He was frustrated that obi wan was the single wall in the entire galaxy that he could not conquer, and I believe the tiny bit of anakin he still had left hidden away in his soul yearned for rest. That obi wan would be the one to end his suffering. But that day never came. His scream was a scream of frustration, and that of a lost child angry with the world.

    • @GlodiaCA
      @GlodiaCA Pƙed rokem +14

      Agreed. Also Obi-Wan represents to Vader his past self, and through Vader's eyes killing him helps him kill what is left of Anakin until he learns he also needs to let go of the past to move on, much like Obi-Wan. Which also makes the line from Luke "It's your true self you've only forgotten" even a bit more meaningful.

    • @reecebernard88
      @reecebernard88 Pƙed rokem +13

      @@GlodiaCA agreed, it’s like vaders fated duel had two possible outcomes. Vader defeating obi wan, therefore making him whole, killing off the very last thing that bound his soul to his past self, *or* kenobi killing Vader, giving him his honorable death, so that he could finally be at peace. However, neither of these happened as obi wan continued to spare him, which left Vader confused and angry.

    Disney has done an incredible job of portraying Vader in different media. From his RO Hallway Massacre to the Execution of 2nd Sista. Vader just keeps getting better in Kenobi. Him screaming his name was disturbing and terrifying all the same.
    Edit: When I mean 'better' I mean in relation with his character. Vaders portrayal in the OT was excellant + ROTS ending. In the last handful of yrs. Disney has upped the ante on Vaders raw power/intimidation factor. Plus the Kenobi show gives us a more personal side of Vader when on the hunt for Obi.

    Now all we need is Qui-Gon to whisper, “Darth”, and Obi-Wan to whisper, “Maul” in O-WK Season 2.😂
