Obi Wan's apology isn't just for Anakin's burning on Mustafar. It is for everything... The Jedi taking Anakin away from his mother, the Jedi manipulating and using Anakin, their failure to promote him to Master, their reluctance to help him in his fears regarding Padme's death, in his own inability to look after Anakin and guard him from the dark side. Don't hate me for this comment but Obi Wan should've clocked about Anakin and Padme while he still had the chance to intervene - he failed to sense something was up and mainly focused on his relationship with Palpatine during ROTS of who was the only one (ofcourse for all the wrong reasons) Anakin's sole confidant so ofcourse that's where his allegiance would end up. When I see Vader now, I only feel pity and sadness for him. The good person who was once Anakin spent his life being bound to others; first to Watto on Tatooine, then to the Jedi Order, then to the Emperor (who acted like his friend, but who was his worst enemy). He lost his mother and his wife to death. He lost his physical body to amputations, burns, and a metal torture suit. He never knew his kids. He became a tragic villain. He had the worst life one could possibly have. In the end, only his son's love truly freed him and allowed him to go back to the light.

I loved Haden’s delivery. His “I am what remains” sounds so angrily disappointed. He’s a shell of his former self, crippled, burned, every breath he takes is pain as he’s trapped in a mechanical prison, knowing that Obi-Wan bested him.
Then as Obi-Wan apologizes to him he gets visibly angrier, like he can’t stand the thought if Obi-Wan pitying him. “I am not your failure, Obi-Wan” had so much impact. This is the kind of stuff I really wanted to see throughout the series.

In the end you don't even want to. In the end, you do not even want to. In the end, the shadow is all you have left. There are so many parallels in this scene that tie together so beautifully...
    - Obi-wan saying once more, that "he will do what he must".
    - Obi wan exposing half of Vader's face, just alike Ashoka did in Rebels, and in that moment they both saw Anakin.
    - The blue light on Anakin's face showing the good that is still in him, something that Padme, Obi-wan and Ashoka thought to be true.
    - Vader saying to Obi-wan, "then you will die" as he lights up his saber just like he told Ashoka.
    - Obi wan saying my friend is "truly dead" as luke said his father was "truly dead".
    - Obi wan calling Vader, "Darth". Which is huge as he accepts his brother is gone and when they next meet on the Death Star many years later he only refers to him as Darth.
    - Vader screaming Obi-wan like Maul did. Kenobi really has that effect on they sith he chops up.
The cinematography, the voice transitions, the blue lighting on Anakin's face then red when Vader returns... This scene has genuinely added to the Skywalker story which is something that hasn't happened since Star Wars the Clone Wars. Incredible.

It was sounding like a broken man who was begging obi wan to please kill him and end his suffering or he’s gonna keep coming after him. Anakin wants out of that suffering. But obi wan can’t bring himself to kill him. And now vader hates him even more for letting him stay in that prison. I loved it. Hayden did a great job giving us the broken version of anakin. Which that was also I wanted to see on top of flash backs if you bringing hayden back. And Disney nailed that. This was the final straw where obi wan has finally gave up on anakin. The jedi did fail anakin, they didn’t put their faith in the prophecy, they put it in politics. Poor obi-wan had to watch all of this happen before his eyes, having to kill his best friend. We didn't need to see the fucker as a child but the fact that Vader wears that suit and sounds like he's wearing an iron lung because he was chopped up and thrown into some goddamn lava makes him a cooler character. "Evil" unexplained is just a bland villain. Exactly 💯. It really cements Hayden Christensen's acting as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader seeing the Vader helmet cut open and the voice changer. Obi Wan's lightsaber style reflecting his Clone Wars fighting style as well which he switched to Qui Gon Jinn's lightsaber style in Rebels. Darth Vader hated himself as he destroyed everything that Anakin Skywalker loved and therefore he suppressed himself psychologically and emotionally as more machine than Man as Old Ben Kenobi said to Luke Skywalker. THIS FIGHT WAS EPIC ASFLIP 👊. Thus begins the conflict within him for control of his soul whether Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader wins and we know why Episode 6 is called Return of The Jedi. BEST EPISODE OF KENOBI EVER 😎☺️. Qui Gon Jinn's appearance at the End to offer his old apprentice guidance was awesome. I finally see Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker as Darth Vader just as James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader in the Original Trilogy and Rogue One. Having Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor BACK as Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi for these scenes and in The Clone Wars Era flashbacks during Vader's thoughts was DOPE . First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro but speciation and adaptation which is micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

@@Reliant1864 Yeah! This is gonna be long so I apologize in advance.
Basically, my main complaints come from the poor choreography and questionable writing decisions for the show. The chases involving Leia were pretty bad - a little too cartoony. Unnecessary parkour during the rooftop chase, subpar writing in episode 4 (I definitely think that was the weakest link), especially how the guy went from not wanting to help and then immediately changing his mind. I wasn’t really onboard with Reva, but episode 5 helped me empathize with her character a bit more. She’s definitely not my favorite character, but I feel it was a little too far into the series to really form a connection to her. Between the really lighthearted scenes with Leia, and the polar opposite scenes with Vader rampaging and people getting cut in half, I really didn’t know who the primary audience was. I know every show has their moments where it’s got an overall dark tone with some light moments, but this seemed to be half and half which just made it awkward, in my opinion. Lastly, the sets felt fake for the most part (which they were). I can only think of 4 places that felt like they were in the location (Tatooine, the planet where they had their first duel, Nur, and the Coruscant scenes.) It felt like they did too much CGI for the Jabiim sequences.
In short, I didn’t have a problem with the story in and of itself, it was the way they told it. After seeing their budget, though, I can understand why (they had less than $100,000,000 to make it).

I do think he is proud - not of who he has become but that it were his decisions that made him that way. Despite that I agree it is probably also the delight about sowing conflict in his master. Darth Vader has had some great quips throughout his appearances, but they're not just color commentary, they're one of his weapons.
He plants stories in his enemies minds: Stories of fear, stories of anger, stories of despair.
      1) "I find your lack of faith disturbing": Fear. His force choke is a reminder that Admiral Motti should believe in Vaders ability and intention to destroy everybody who gets in his way. In other words: Motti can choose between faith and death.
      2) "No - I am your father": Courage to tell the truth. This is something Palpatine has used on Anakin as well: The old trick of saying the enemy is afraid of the truth, so they bend it to their needs. We, the Sith, are powerful and courageous enough to face the truth.
      3) "If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will": Despair. A narrative that pushes you to abandon convictions for a short-term victory - while making it seem as if you were actually still following your values, just in a broader sense: You love your sister, so when you slaughter your father in rage in order to save her, you're still a good guy!
      4) "You didn't kill Anakin, I did." Despair: Obiwan is given the choice to either accept Vaders interpretation - but that would mean falsely refusing his own responsibility - or to take complete responsibility. After all, Vader talks about "killing Anakin", which of course is in itself factually wrong. But with his harsh wording it looks like either Obiwan was solely to blame or he had nothing to do with it: Only a Sith thinks in extremes. Of course there is the middle-ground of accepting partial responsibility, which is the path Obiwan apparently chose:
If he had accepted that none of this was his fault, he probably could have killed Vader instead of turning his back and leaving.

Honestly what shocked and scared me the most was when Vader said “you didn’t kill Anakin skywalker... I did”. And that freaking smile he did as if Vader took pride in killing Anakin. It also shows how Vader and Anakin are two completely different people.
Also another part that got me was when Vader screamed for Obi wan. Like he wanted him to either finish him off or let Vader kill him. It’s almost a mirror to Obi wan leaving Anakin to burn on Mustafar.

Vader and Anakin are not two different people. Anakin thinks he's Vader, but knows he is not. It's a façade to help justify that he is a new person, and allow him to be a monster. He always has been Anakin, he just drives that part of his personality out with the rage and hate he has been left with.

@@Ragnell56 Memories and experiences are what defines an individual's identity, Vader suppresses the memories and experiences of Anakin Skywalker, thus becoming a new person altogether, as the title of Darth exists for the very purpose of cutting away one's former identity, fully embracing the dark side in it's entirety.
People change throughout the years, the core remains the same, but new neurons constantly appear and change.

In Ep 4 recall when Ben said the line "Only the master of evil Darth". I like how that ties in here. He is no longer Anakin to Ben but now Darth Vader from this point forward. Always wondered how that would be handled. Love the show or hate it, it is paying liberties to the finer details.

It’s so funny I never wrapped my head around it until I recently rewatch ANH but you don’t realize Kenobi referencing Vader as Anakin bc this whole scene explains it all. “You can’t win Darth”. “If you strike me down Darth I shall become more powerful than u can imagine”

I would agree with this. Obi Wan meeting Luke was like a soldier meeting the son of a fallen fellow soldier and close friend, a brother in arms!
