Hayden Christensen is back! I was so happy to see him again as Anakin. The show was good, some of the scenes were one of the best in Star Wars.
In this video, I wanted to show a slightly different perspective on the development of Darth Vader, based on the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan.

The cool thing is, actually in the german translation, when he says "You didnt killed anakin" its the german voice of hayden and when he says "I did" its just the mechanical voice of the Darth Vader suit, showing that vader killed anakin and that he has like 2 perosnallities, such a deep scene and crazy good editing. Missed this Detail in the english version

Disney ruined it with the sequel trilogy though. They literally threw the prophecy right out the widow.

I just realised that the reason why darth vader always looked at the stars when he was in the star destroyer was because when he was a kid he always wanted to visit all of them. It's sad, but it proves he was still anakin deep down.
Do you mean him literally looking at the stars when he's on the command bridge of the Destroyer or when he's looking out the same window but during hyperspace travel?

The most powerful thing to come out of this show for me and one that actually adds a great deal to the characters we love (Anakin/ Vader and then Obi Wan), if you allow it to become your canon, is that dialogue between the two.
Some of the most meaningful moments in fiction are actually the ones which leave room for interpretation!
When Anakin/Vader tells Obi that he didn't kill Anakin, but he himself did it (after Obi apologized to him), it almost seems like there is the light side shining through, as if Anakin wants to lift Obi Wan of that burden, of that feeling of guilt. He himself is now taking responsibility for the way things went. I mean, was he really ready to kill Obi Wan? He wanted, but then again he didn't want to. After all he decided to bury him, instead of actually killing him in a way where he can be certain. He then walked away.
On the other hand, it could be that telling Obi Wan that he (Vader) killed Anakin, is the dark side, his massive ego really embracing what he has become and owning that path, taking away from Obi Wan that he could possibly have had a part in shaping his future, telling him that he wasn't significant enough so he could have possibly done that, thereby trying to hurt him even more.
I personally lean towards the former, also because of Hayden's voice when he said the part about Obi not having any part in it. His voice is soft and sad here. Then again, when he said "I did!" it's realy vadery and kind of evil. For the first part of the sentence his face is covered in blue light and only with the evil "I did" does it turn red. I don't know, maybe its both. The character stays ambivalent after all and holds sort of two peole. So who knows.
Either way, seeing Anakin like this and hearing what he had to say, lifted the burden of guilt from Obi Wan and he could finally be free again.

Hayden delivered this line perfectly. You can hear his voice cracking from sorrow and heartbreak while at the same time turning into the inhuman robotic vader because of the distorted damaged voice synthesizer. Sends shivers down my spine.

*James Earl Jones did deliver this line perfectly. He does the Voice of Darth vader, with 91 years of age huge respect. I am truely glad that we got another Darthvader with its original voice befor its to late.

I love how Darth Vader's voice has remained consistent throughout all these years, that you can edit his dialogues together from multiple sources and they flow together perfectly.
Ok, I found out that they used a software called "Respeech" to alter James Earl Jones voice.

People don't give enough credit to Christensen! He had one of the most complex characters in cinema history. I have to tell that these edits prove how great Hayden really was at playing Anakin! He showed the depth of Anakin's conflict so well. I can't believe this guy received so much hate for playing this character. Nobody could have played Anakin better than Hayden.

The finale episode really cements how terrifying Vader really is. How Vader isn’t just the mask but the man behind it. The way he speaks about killing Anakin with a hint of a smile truly made it feel like Anakin was dead and I wasn’t looking at Ani in a suit. But I was looking at Vader, and that was terrifying
I think what’s even better is that he didn’t even look like Hayden. You really had to look to find traces of Anakin and that’s how it should be.
He got beat though, hard to be terrified when the villain is beaten, if he had beat Kenobi and "played with his food" so to speak and then Kenobi manages to get a quick slash on the helmet, then Vader says the line and then let's Kenobi go as he's going to hunt him for sport, that would've been terrifying, instead they just had him beaten and spared... Again
I see you missed the whole point of Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship lol. Obi-Wan has always been stronger than Anakin. When they confront each other, Anakin feels the need to prove himself stronger but Obi-Wan will always defeat him. The light side is stronger than the dark side after all. Even when Vader killed Obi-Wan in ANH, it was only because Obi-Wan let it happen. Vader is a very powerful warrior, but Obi-Wan was essentially Vader’s achilles heel.

The story is over and Obi-Wan proved he’s better than Anakin, both physically and spiritually. That’s the whole point of the dark side vs the light. The dark side is the quick and easy path to gaining power but the light side is ultimately stronger when one achieves balance, like Obi-Wan did in this episode leading him into the person we see in ANH
Darth Vaders story is one of most complex story's ever told.
So much conflict within himself.
A story of good and evil on a personal level. A true iconic character that will forever be in our story telling history.
George lucas himself said star wars represents the basic human principles that go back to a time before the written word. The vikings had similar beliefs that’s what the runes are all about. They each represented core values that are now lost

"you dont know the power of the darkside" "which is why you will always LOSE!" gave me chills
Then toped iT off with Vader having the high ground saying

I grew up obsessed with the original trilogy. I saw ROTJ in the theater when I was 5. The confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader in this series is a top 3-5 all time Star Wars moment in the entirety of the story. Old Republic to present. All mediums. Lots of fantastic content to be found in this otherwise imperfect series.

What a masterpiece
The most heartbreaking thing is the change from little Anakin to grown up Vader. You just can't bring yourself to believe that Vader once was a little boy. It's like he has no past, like he hasn't known innocence
We need Ewan and Hayden to come back for more stuff. Seeing them again makes me feel like a little kid again. I know there might be a season 2 of Obi Wan, but I really hope they do some sort of live action clone wars show. Maybe show us some things we haven’t seen. I just don’t want this to be the last time we see them play these characters.
I'm hoping for a live action adaptation of the Vader comics. I doubt we'd ever get one, but it would be amazing seeing Hayden put on the suit again for that. There is so much of Vader's story missing for people who haven't read them and it would be a shame if it wasn't attempted.

I'm starting to think than can be no deeper villain than a fallen hero. There's just something about a former savior turning into a monster. It's worse somehow than someone who was always on the path of evil.

I think one of the most obvious but underrated things this series Vader said is during his fight in the finale with Obi Wan is when he said "you have failed, master". The fact he called him master that one last time goes to show for 10 years, he still felt like he needed to prove to Obi Wan that since you never really believed in me, held me back etc, one day, I am going to prove to you, I am powerful, I am this and that so telling him you have failed... that's pretty deep.

The most amazing and unsettling scene was the close-up of Darth Vader's true face and him saying, "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker... I did." The smile at the end of that line gave me chills. THAT was Darth Vader. Having that scene would've added more of the Dark Lord of the Sith in this vid.

Darth Vader is one of the most tragic characters in fiction. An arrogant hero turned villian, and blames his mentor for his own downfall to evil. Like, you can't get anymore perfect than that

The absolute terror and shock on obiwans face when he first saw anakin through vaders cracked helmet was very well acted out and it shows that obiwan still isn't over "losing" him and that he is still going through that pain

Anikans story is so special because it captures raw pain that we all feel. Sometimes the pain consumes you and despite your heart, you become something else. The dark side tempts us all.

I like to believe this was Anakin trying to relieve Obi Wan of his guilt. The conflict between Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker was evident in this scene, really well portrayed by the changing blue and red lighting as well as the human to robot voice.

best character of all time, and my personal favourite character of all time too. his story is so heartbreaking yet so beautiful. it’s interesting, sad, and so fascinating. Darth Vader is without a doubt the best villain and the most powerful. He’s the chosen one for a reason, i’ll never not find his character so fascinating, his story is the best and no one can convince me otherwise.

I have probably watched a thousand or so of these type of edits, and this one is by far the most beautiful cut I’ve seen. Rewatched so many times. It perfectly encapsulates his emotional journey through the films. Only thing maybe missing was the closure scenes at the end of ROTJ and character redemption. But I couldn’t do this better with a year of editing, great great job man

we are sooooooo incredibly lucky to have yet another go around with the voice of Darth Varder, James Earl Jones. who in his most senior age of 91 has yet again had the strength and power to reprise his role as Darth Vader. My only gripe about the whole starwars property is that they dont acknowledge the man as they really should.
I think they used voice tech stuff like they did with Luke. Still very cool and James Earl Jones is a treasure! Absolute Legend!

Anakin turning to the dark side is the biggest tragedy in cinema history. The hero of the clone wars, a good man and a better friend seduced by evil in order to save the ones he loved. He lost everything he ever wanted because of a lie from the only person he could call a friend. The fact that her lost so much is what fed his power and the only thing that kept him alive.
