Thanks for the vid. I'm using these for the rear tie down straps for my kayak. Just put cross bars and collapsable kayak carrier on the roof so this is perfect.
Without these I'd have to open the tonneau cover and use the bed's d-rings so this is much more convenient and practical since I can keep my things in the bed locked and secure.

I have a Santa Cruz on order, I had noticed these knock-outs and wondered if there were stake pockets below. Thank you for confirming. My thought is, with roof racks in place I can weld up a nice crossbar to sit in the rear stake pockets and support kayaks, lumber etc. again, thank you for all of your posts.

Tie downs are always useful. My bed stiffeners had 2 on each one, for 4 more tie down places so now I have 8 total in the bed.

I've watched several of your Santa Cruz videos. I was wondering if you ever thought about how to add additional tie down anchor points inside the Santa Cruz bed interior.

I am curious if you had any concerns about water access (rain or wash water running down past the elongated tie down inverted U-Bolt) into the underlying frame area? Thereby a source for rusting, over time, that is ... that concern is the ONLY reason I have not installed my set.
Not a concern for me. Honestly I don’t keep them long enough for it to be an issue.
Since they're designed into the vehicle,y guess is that they have a drain path.
@@robmotivetoo Maybe you could do a YT Short with one Bullring removed and pour some water into hole and see where it comes out, or doesn't? My guess is there's a drain path since they were designed into the vehicle.
Is there a particular model you chose that best fits the SC? I see many on Amazon that seems to refer to various models of trucks

Will this hurt your warrantee ? Also I have had my front windows open just by having the key fob in my pocket, any way to turn that off, just by holding the unlock button in it opens the windows. I went outside one morning and both my windows were down, I must have brushed up against something to have that happen.

Well, several people covered this months ago with bull ring. How about covering how to update the infotainment system. Mine was out of date when I bought it a month ago, and my dealership told me to update it myself, which I found challenging.

Got a question, I was going to do this but my body guy said it will eventually rust inside from the water getting in. Also what about any warranty issues ???Anybody have thoughts on this. Thanks. Also anybody have issues with apple carplay, mind doesn’t always work an the dealer says it doesn’t happen when they have it!!
Never install any mod you’re not comfortable with. My CarPlay bugs out now and then😬
I would like to do this upgrade to mine and still may, but I share the same concern with rusting also.
I think you could easily use some silicone to seal around the underside of the bull ring frame during install or make a rubber gasket?
The company that makes the bull ring could have made some simple rubber caps/covers to put on while not in use to minimize the amount of water getting down in the holes and collecting in the body. Just a thought...

Are the screws stainless steel?
Hard to tell. They seemed to be, but could have been zinc plated.
I saw those knock out sections on mine and thought they might pop out. I don't understand the decision to have owners permanent modify the truck to use these mounting points.

@@robmotivetoo someone might want to add a rack using those points, but not all the time. Now they are left with ugly holes. I guess this is a rookie mistake by a manufacturer that is new to trucks.
Making caps for these holes would be a great after-market accessory, or someone with a 3d printer could design one.
