I don't think the buyers of this vehicle are not looking to buy a pickup truck. So all the negative talk about it not being a "pickup" truck is kind of pointless.

Yeah: Me. I wanted a quick vehicle that feels sporty, but i wanted some ground clearance and a truck-bed. The maverick is ugly af, so my '24 Santa Cruz Night is perfect for me. Looks sick in Phantom Black with the black wheels. Sharp looking "truck"

I have Santa Cruz 2023 and I love everything about it. Because I didn’t buy it as a truck. I jst wanted a suv wit big truck and safety reason. It’s really great. Driving experience. Style and everything. I have driven 11k mine and nth wrong with it. I jst love this car. Only regret is not getting night edition. :,(
Although the Santa Cruz is not an SUV, nor a serious truck. It's a SAV, (Sport Adventure Vehicle).

Bought this for my lifestyle in Florida. I like making trips to the beach and vacationing in Key West. Got the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz SEL. Has all the storage I need and still has room. Lots of road comfort and tech. My avg city miles are about 22-25mpg and highway I was getting 30-36mpg. This truck is by no means meant to do any heavy hauling that’s clearly not the target audience so if you need a full size pickup then get a full size pickup. This isn’t for you. Truck bed has a lot of nice versatility for light hauling plus I like having the small cooler below the truck bed for drinks when I go to the beach.
A better title is 7 Reasons You MAY NOT Like the Santa Cruz. I don't think anyone buys a Santa Cruz for maximum towing, off-roading or cargo hauling. Someone who prioritizes mileage isn't looking at trucks.

Lame…it’s like you would criticize a full sign pickup for being too ‘big’. I’m not using it off road and am fine with the bed size for what I need. Also rear visibility is great, big mirrors and a great backup camera.
I love my Santa Cruz. Got the xrt 2024. I love all the great things about it

I got the 23 night in phantom black and I love it. Black does show more swirls though.

I have a 23 Night in Hampton Grey. Looks great and drives nice. 12k miles with no problems.

I have a Santa Cruz and I found no reason given in this video to believe what the narrator says. I looked at the ford maverick and it was awful. It all depends on what your looking for. The Santa Cruz has met and exceeded my expectations. I need to stop watching negative videos presented by people pushing their own agenda

I like mine! Just hauled 14 bags of mulch last weekend with no problem.
It does have a locking viscous clutch applying even power to all wheels. Not a transfer case, but a system that does work.
Mine worked perfect in the snow this winter. Wow maverick 0.1 seconds quicker.
Why would I but a Chevy or ford? So they can deny any future warranty claims?
I got 10 years of worry free service. I’ve had Chevys and Fords, you will have to give me one to get me back in one of those!
Hyundai do not consider to be a "truck" ... it's listed as an SUV. It has some features of a compact truck but it's built on the Tucson SUV platform. Maverick is it's only competition right now. Maverick is built like a truck, albeit a smaller one.
I have a Santa Cruz and you don’t know what you are talking about. It tows very well and is anything but sluggish. The 2.5 turbo is fast !!
My wife has a 2023 Santa Cruz and she loves it. You are right on just about everything. That C pillar is massive, the bed is small, off roading will never happen with her driving it. It seems faster then what you state. It rides nice, and the adaptive cruise control works great even in stop and go traffic to a point.

I was going to buy a Maverick even though I'm against turbos in economy cars but even the buttons are so cheap inside and you can't use lane keep without the cruise being on... that's not enough for 42k
All reasons got ignored. This vehicle is about as common as a Toyota corolla. I plan on buying it next year.

I have a 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Tremor. No issues at all. One recall for software update for directionals. I see no issues with anything mentioned. Maybe these were from initial year 2022. None of those issues were major just minor annoyances.
5:43 this is wrong I have consistently hit under 8 seconds for 0 to 60 with an SEL using sport mode.
Ok but you can't deny the Maverick looks like a tin can. The interior of the Maverick is rather ghastly. Santa Cruz will do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. The Bose speakers with subwoofer is outstanding.
Also I see online most obtaining 30 plus mpg

I love the Santa Cruz. Since I don't work in the fricken construction business, it doesn't matter that the bed is a little small. I can't afford it though. So I dream about it. The first two reasons you started with are stupid reasons. Not everyone gives a fuck about off roading and I like a compact truck with a small bed. I don’t want that bulky shit. List valid reasons. Not your personal preference
What an utterly stupid video. This is clearly the narrator's opinion which they are entitled to but nothing in the video is a legit reason to NOT buy a Santa Cruz if a potential purchaser wanted to. These are all things the narrator hates about compact trucks in general so they should take their own advice, simply stay away and look at larger class size trucks for their needs. All the things said in this video can easily be rebuked. Anyone who is buying vehicles like the Santa Cruz (or the Maverick) aren't buying these to go extreme offroading and anyone with functioning brain cells can see these vehicles aren't the ones meant for that task nor do either manufacturer of these vehicles claim anything close as such.
Likewise no one is buying a compact truck to do any heavy hauling/towing. There's a reason why the full size and super/heavy duty size truck classes exist. People who are buying these vehicles do so because they want the utility of a truck without having to go all in on a full size (or even midsize) truck. If I was in the market for a new vehicle this would be something I would consider because there are some things my midsize sedan with it's cavernous trunk just can't carry and asking to borrow a friend's truck gets tiresome after a while.
As far as 0 - 60...I mean honestly who cares? I'm surprised this video also didn't supply another useless speed fact like how quickly the Santa Cruz does a 1/4 mile. When was the last time anyone gunned their gas pedal to get from a dead stop to 60mph as quickly as possible. I mean I guess it's something useful if you're being chased by the mafia (or the cops) and one wanted to attempt a quick getaway but even using the on ramp to get on the freeway/interstate you're probably already going 55 - 60 mph so keeping up with that kind of traffic isn't going to be an issue.

You must don't take care of your vehicle. No matter what you get. It can brake down. If you don't take care of it. Point blank
110K+ miles on my 14 year old Hyundai engine. Never a break down, never a repair needed. Yep real shit.
kia and hyundai engines with turbo last 50k miles maybe, then blow up.
Transmission problems on these models.
