      Already did, a n SEL Premium. Actually order a Maverick a week after the initial release , waited months and decided to get my down payment back after exploring a Santa Cruz. The Ford is built to a price point , and it shows.

      I have a 2024 Limited. I didn’t buy it for “truck” work. I have a GMC for that purpose. The Cruz is pretty damn handy . My wife and I both love it. Great gas mileage, very comfortable and just fun to drive.

    Santa Cruz isn't marketed as a truck, it's a sport adventure vehicle and it's pretty awesome to drive not to mention it's loaded with features and standard options

      Hyundai's web page has the Santa Cruz listed as a Crossover Utility Truck -- CUT. And the "cons" are grossly exaggerated in each case, as the bed is only 3" shorter than the Maverick's, the rear-seat leg room lets a 6' passenger ride COMFORTABLY behind a 6' driver with leg room to spare and the prices based on low, mid to high-end trims are almost identical between the two vehicles... Yes, the Ranger Lariat is also pricing in the $40K - $45K range. The two are very comparable but the Santa Cruz is significantly more comfortable.

    @paulhunter6489 Před 3 měsíci +6

    There is only a tiny difference between the Santa Cruz bed and the Maverick bed. This "con" was overstated.

    • @wolfman_jack
      @wolfman_jack Před 2 měsíci

      As I wrote in response to another post , correct - the Ford's is only 2 inches longer , quite negligible. It's as if he was scrounging for a "con". Full disclosure , own a 2022 SEL Premium and quite happy with it.

      I've owned one (SC Limited) since August of 2021... We really like it. only a few "niggles" such as no rear center arm rest and limited bed space (but you know about that already)

    owned nothing but DUALLIES for 20 yrs, To slim down to this wasn't hard at all, 2022 Limited, from a 2015 Laramie Limited.. love those TURBO'S

  • @Stelerk21
    @Stelerk21 Před 2 měsíci +4

    Most of this video is inaccurate. You can haul a full sheet of plywood with the tailgate down. It is exactly the same as the Ford Maverick but it actually drives better than the Ford Maverick. Honda sucks for comfort. The Santa Cruz can tow more then the Ford Maverick.

    At 1:31 you say “the large screen makes it look much more upmarket than the SANTA CRUZ is”. Probably want to correct that!

    I have a 2024 SEL with activity package it's FWD and is averaging almost 30 mpg . This vehicle is great and I really love it. Price was 30,700.00 after a 2,500 rebate. Would definitely buy it again.

    I really would have preferred to have the non-turbo non-DCT for the Limited as an option - I've had no issues with the 2.5t DCT and had it since Aug of 2021....

  • @vulpinemac

    I came OUT of a "Mid-sized pickup" to get into the Santa Cruz. And dollar for dollar, it's BETTER than the Maverick.

    • @richardkusimenkah
      @richardkusimenkah Před 3 měsíci +1

      Finally someone who seems to get it. The Santa Cruz is a better vehicle overall. Die hard ford boys despite the numbers think maverick is better.
      The only pro the maverick has is its hybrid engine, slightly better pricing, and a bed that is a hair bigger.

    • @wolfman_jack
      @wolfman_jack Před 3 měsíci

      @@richardkusimenkah Quite true, and full disclosure a happy Santa Cruz owner. Originally order a Maverick a week after its release in June of 2021, waited months - nothing. Decided to check out a Santa Cruz, glad I did , got my deposit back from Ford, and the rest as they say is history. The Ford is cheaper in many respects as it's built to a price point , i.e. - cheaper material and overall presentation (looking at that interior).

    I hauled 15 10'' 2x4, 5 10' 1x5, 5 lattice in the bed of this thing, all treated lumber. Yes, it stuck out, but I still got it to the house. As for the "price tag" issue... between this and the maverick, good luck as if you want anything but stock and bare bones, you heading over 40k starting.. I really wanted a Honda Ridgeline. base model, 39k.. put things on it, taxes and tags..

    • @wolfman_jack
      @wolfman_jack Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah I don't get his harping in the bed length as the Ford's is only 2 inches longer-LOL. I own a late 2022 SEL Premium, carried ALL kinds of stuff from sheet rock and lumber to a 1/2 ton of wood pellets. It's a keeper.
