Reviewing one of the greatest films of all time. OSW cover the full movie, plus V1 doing a retrospective aka behind the scenes, and the film's place in history! Man I love the Jurassic park theme. I can hum it to u right now! Would love to know your favourite dinosaur; be it Tyrannosaurus Rex, Raptor, or that one with the massive flaps that pearl harbours Nedry from the front!

"T-Rex is in with the hot tag."
Always hotdogging and grandstanding with its posing roars.
@Heavy Metal Collector T-Rex is the Austin, and the Spinosaurus going over is Austin going heel at X-7. A booking disaster. :D
And with such short arms it's even harder to make that tag!
And cleans house
I absolutely howled at that! 🤣🤣🤣
"He is the John Cena and she is the Nikki Bella!"
OOC: "Does everything have to be about wrestling?"
Yes it does 🤣🤣
I know im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Quinton Alexander Instablaster ;)
@Blake Conner i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Blake Conner it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out!
The kid magically being able to understand the indecipherable program is actually somewhat plausible. Ned was using a special 3d sorta proto-VR version of UNIX, a brand new system that would likely have been featured in PC magazines of the time that the little girl would be reading. It was also an unpopular system even at the time which would explain why the older programmer has no idea what it is.
Consequently this also explains how Hammond "spared no expense" yet Newman is constantly complaining about tech limitations; the 3d UNIX system he's using was a notorious processing hog.
Wow. Great work. So it also shows that both he and hammond are careless with their systems
on the topic of Nedry and the park software,I might as well wall of text here.
Nedry took the contract with incomplete information, and INGEN kept making new demands of him, having him design a complex system with tons of automation without even telling him what most of it was going to be used for until much later. On top of that, despite Nedry's warnings INGEN were shocked that there could be bugs in programs created under these conditions, and Nedry being on the island during the story at all is because INGEN pressured him into coming back and doing a bunch of extra bugfixing without any extra pay. Nedry was also fresh out of school and thus heavily in debt.
THAT'S where Nedry's "money problems" come from. Always bugged me that they couldn't find a way to squeeze in any of that information into the movie, even in a throwaway line.
This is why I read comments, this kinda stuff right here
Don’t think they wanted him to come of as relatable or sympathetic.
There's also the fact the system had just been hard reset so all she needed to do was boot the main components of the OS.
Which she does.

I think you mean paleontologist and not archeologist guys but I love you anyway. Could you guys cover more Attitude Era wrestling I grew up watching that shit little did I know back then that would be the best it ever was and was seeing something special
How about a job instead? I listen to you guys every day of my life. What's up?
If you look really carefully Newman is watching JAWS on one of his monitors!
Cheers Jay! Give us your alien review next please!
Thanks for the amazing FREE content boys
I remember watching this movie when I was 8 or 9 and being scared as hell of the velociraptors. I didn´t want to go to the bathroom alone because I imagined a raptor would pop from the windows. Then in my twenties me and my friends had the recurring joke of "We are safe because the raptors can´t (insert action) and then do the raptor cry and mimic the action).
This movie is a master piece.
Hammond in the book is much more "evil, greedy rich guy" than he is in the movie. In the movie, he's more someone who thought creating Jurassic Park was a cool idea and never bothered to consider the implications of basically playing god. The scene early on where they are all eating lunch and basically having a philosophical debate is one I really learned to appreciate as I got older. Malcolm's line "You thought about whether or not you could do it and not whether you should" is something that stuck with me.
So book Hammond is Vince McMahon and Movie Hammond is Vince Russo
I was going to comment this, too. Hammond is a complete HEEL in the book, so a lot of that seems to have carried over to the film, even though he's presented as a nicer bloke
He's killed at the end of the book too.
Yeah, he only invited his kids to the island so that the Costa Rican air force (which didn't exist) wouldn't bomb it. And he callously blamed everybody else for the park's failure, including the ones that gave their lives to help people.
The bloodsucking lawyer was actually a good guy that survived in the book! Same with the hunter (I mean he was always good, but you get the idea).
I loved "God creates Dinosaurs, God destroys Dinosaurs, God creates Man, Man destroys God, Man creates Dinosaurs". Can of coke to the person who knows what Dr. Sattler added.
Brontosaurus is back gents. Look it up. Great news. Thats a whopper name.
Trying to bury OOC just gets him more over
Master of no selling
Tri-assic Park. It's time to play the game.
It's All about the game, and how you play it,
it's all about the game, and how you play it.
All about the game, and where you're stayin,
It's all about playin the game.. who's gonna play it.
Triple H
Will play it.
Then he''l play the game, and then he'll make it
Huhuhuhu
@@Andulvar Not sure how he managed to fuck that up. You got like 2 from the Jurassic period and 5 from the Cretaceous. No Triassic dinosaurs at all.
@@jordangraham-mclean1980 I think he knew that they weren't Jurassic and Triassic is just what popped into his head.
As he said in the video he was just going from memory. But this is the internet. It never forgets and never forgives...
@@planescaped Nah dude it’s totally understandable. He was just fiending for a wrasslin reference me thinks.
I'm infuriated how Jay absolutely no-sold V1s " it was acceptable at the time"
I’m fighting my inner dinosaur nerd so’s not to correct the inaccuracies the lads are making knowing that it’s all in good fun.
I love the part where Newman and the guy are talkin and hes like "dont use my name" then Newman looks around and yells "Dotson.. we got Dotson here!, see nobody cares" 😁😁
The guy that played Dodgeson (Cameron Thor) is in jail for being sexually assaulting a 13 year old.
@@Princescyther good lord.. did not know that
@@Princescyther Y'know, suddenly I'm glad the sequel didn't keep Dodgson as the villain the same way the novel did. (Also because bringing in BioSyn and having to get into all the corporate rivalry with InGen and Hammond still being alive instead of InGen being defunct would've complicated things a bit.
I guess in the end though the actor turned out to be just as scummy as the character.
I am still unable to say "nobody cares" without thinking of that scene 😂
Have great memories of seeing this film as a five year old at the cinema with my dad. But I needed the toilet towards the end as they're scrambling through the ceiling void, came back in and they were on the helicopter going home. Don't think he's ever forgiven me, what a heel!
I remember burying my face in my mother every 5 minutes for pretty much the entire movie after the T-Rex shows up.
When I hear Richard Attenborough I think of 'The Great Escape' before the other movies mentioned.
Still my favorite WW2 movie.
My thoughts exactly, both him and Laura Dern got a bit of an unfair showing at the start!
Kinda reminds me of how I can't unsee Dr Ash when I look at Bilbo Baggins.
I can't imagine watching this review not understanding any of the wrestling lingo.
After OSW, i can no longer watch film reviews that don't have wrestling references
The first good shot of the T-Rex is pretty sweet, but near the end when the T-Rex enters the building and eats the Raptors and the "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" sign falls is absolute film magic.
22:45 “dont shine that torch in my face mate... I’ve just lost a pint of blood” -AP
I love hearing you talk about shite, but hearing you marking out to something genuinely awesome like this or Predator is brilliant too
It never fails that if I have a song stuck in my head, I can just think of the Jurassic Park theme and immediately knock the stuck song out of my head.
If i remember correctly, there was a deleted scene where Ellie had tripped over Samuel L Jackson's dead body and injured her leg when she finds the raptor in the bunker, but the scene was deemed too dark so it was cut
Not like his disembodied arm wasn’t already clue enough
I love those little moments that always make you wonder as a kid and then you find out later it was just some scene that was cut out 😂
How is it possible to bring every emotion, plot device, script choice and real life scenario back to wrestling nomenclature and STILL HAVE it make perfect sense? This is pure gold.
It's a medical condition! Kayfabulosis 😃
Those are Brachiosaurus in the distance at the start
One of my favourite films of all time. Still holds up today. During the scene in the kitchen when the Raptor is running towards Lex and there is a shot of it running at the camera, I remember being in the cinema and moving my legs up off the floor as if to avoid being attacked by it myself. Much like V1, 10 year old me was waaaay into dinosaurs back then
"the Hulk Hogan of dinosaurs" but this time the 24" pythons are two feet long?
"Shortest arms in the world, brother!"
I never made the connection with Newman squealing like the dinosaur but I love the detail in the helicopter scene where Alan uses two female seat belt connections to secure himself. Life finds a way.
This movie is perfect! Great review lads!
On Nedry: He bid for the job, the reason he is underpaid is because he put in a poor bid.
He's just a moaner.
Yea glad to see a fan giving the factual reason why neadry was upset with his money. No one could have known he would be securing Dinosaurs.
I don't want to be that guy, especially because I don't know when this was recorded, but it appears to now be agreed upon that a brontosaurus is a separate species from apatosaurus.
The paper concluding that Brontosaurus was a valid genus of sauropod distinct from Apatosaurus was released in 2015. Pretty sure this was recorded after that. 😉
I was 5 when Jurassic Park came out and I saw it in the theatres and I SCREAMED and cried when the T Rex ate the lawyer....my mum had to take me out of the theatre haha
What a mark... 😂
JK
One of the greatest movies of all time. It is a brachiosaurus, not an apatosaurus. The SNES game didn't have a save option so it had to be beaten in one sitting.
Still got it
Yep I was baffled by that…an apatosaurus is more lengthy and like a smaller diplodocus.
Most of the dinosaurs are from the Cretaceous and Alan is a palaeontologist. Aside from that whopper review lads, dinosaurs and OSW are my absolute favourites.
The first dinosaur is also a Brachisaurus and not an Apatosaurus.
And the velociraptor is actual a Deinonychus. Because it sounds cooler.
scrolled down to see if anyone else mentioned that, as those did make me go "wait, what??"
@@jackspence6061 a lot can be said about how the raptors are incorrect. From name, to size, to look. Let's not even begin the feathers talk.
Thank you, this was bugging me too, I was doubting myself XD
The T-Rex told those cruiserweight raptors that they can cruiser wait!
Prehistoric vanilla midgets
Look at the adjective!
Raven would say:
"What a PARK!"
And Kevin Nash would say: “Dinosaurs! What a pittance.”
The Kenner toys that came out after this movie were fucking awesome.
[T-Rex approaching the Visitor Center at the end]
Bobby Heenan: "Whose side is she on?! Whose side is she on?!"
This movie holds a very special place in my heart. I was born in '91and got this on VHS for my birthday when I turned 3. Yes, 3 years old and watching people get eaten and torn apart by dinosaurs and not batting an eye at it.
Ellie's leg: Supposedly there was a cut scene in which Ellie tripped over Arnold (Jackson)'s severed leg, but it was cut, my guess is probably that the editor said "Oh no, we're not D'Lo'ing this, we already did the severed limb spot."
Or maybe when she told to run to the shed, the first thing she did was run into a large tree branch
My first film I have ever seen in a cinema. Since I loved dinosaurs, my grandad took me to see it. R.I.P Grandad, Thank you OSW for covering the film, great memories, God bless you.
In the embryo chamber when Nedry is pulling the viles, the movie misspelled Stegosaurus as "Stegasaurus".
And u misspelled vials as viles
@@neilcampbell8499 LOL! Spot on mate! Cheers!
V1 dropping the dino knowledge here.
*pushes up Michael Cole glasses...
actually... apatosaurs & brontosaurs are different dinosaurs
@@Gravydog316 Yeah, I think I heard very recently that there actually was a Brontosaur. I also heard that scientists are backing off that dinosaurs were feathered. So I would be careful about going hard on our current knowledge, when it's changing all the time.
And especially so since that "Apatosaur" that V1 is referring to...is a Brachiosaur. :D
@@shorewall yeah the bronto thing was 5 years ago now lol
Also Brachiosauruses are not Apatosaurus.
"Ford gas powered Jeeps"
'Jeep' is kind of just the generic Euro term for any offroad vehicle that isn't a Land Rover.
Lol yeah, that's a bit insulting to Ford and Jeep alike. I figured it was the European lingo as well. OSW - what your friend has is the Ford Explorer SUV. The Jeep...was well the 2 & 4 door Jeeps.
As a Europee or Europist, I've never anybody use Jeep as a byword for 'off-roader'.
Trying to pass a kidney stone, such is life, and the boys review my favorite movie ever. Oh me meow, thank you guys!
The face turn by the T-Rex is one of the greatest of all-time. Right up there with Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.
Raptor: "Whose side are you on?"
T-Rex: "NOT YOURS!"
The shaving cream side plot was later expanded in a Jurassic Park video game made by f*^king Telltale Games (Creators of The Walking Dead video game, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands etc)
I always thought Ellie said, "RUN" to herself, trying to psyche herself up to the strength to run through the pain.
Yeah, that's exactly what it is
When they were at the helicopter and I was a kid watching this in theaters, I was screaming at the old man, "go, go, g9. Get in the damn helicopter " . Lol
First thing I did when I saw this was up - was sit and say in my best Alan Partridge voice "JUURRAASSIICCC PARK!!"
The guy who plays Muldoon is brilliant in Jim Henson's The Storyteller.
Is that the man with the whistle playing poker with the demons?
@@bloodanddajugs yeah! It’s great.
The sound in this movie was brilliant, especially during the T-Rex attack.. this movies use of sound, and it's soundtrack/theme, is a masterclass in how to score a film.
Surely Lexie’s hacker name should be Rekcah!
That’s hacker, spelled backwards
I saw this movie with my dad when it came out, I was 7 at the time and there was a bad thunderstorm going on outside during the raptor in the kitchen scene and the power in the theater went out which scared the FUCK out of me, I thought the raptors were going to come into the theater at that point. Luckily the power came back on in about 20 mins and my dad literally has not been back to the cinema since literally, he hates the movie theater.
One of my college professors is writing a dissertation on John Williams' score writing and the stuff he's had to tell me is so interesting.
Clicking on a folder can be hacking. Hacking is just gaining unauthorized access to a computer or a network of computers. What the kid did wasn't hacking because she was authorized to try to save the network, but it can literally be accessing a folder on a work computer that you are not authorized to view.
I mean, to a boomer, working the windows directory is basically splitting the atom. :D
@@shorewall Yeah, though derps throw the word around at anyone who knows something they don't know, the adult characters in this are actual boomers, and I remember back in the 90's how uncommon it was for adults to know their ass from their elbow when it came to computers. There was a good period in the 90's where it was seen as surprising if someone knew how to use a computer.
Hence why the elite hacker kid became such a trope.
@@planescaped I think once DOS was introduced, it allowed lots of technically deficient people to use a computer to their full potential at the time. Before that, BASIC was all you got when you booted a computer. You must be referring to the introduction of Windows though, since you mentioned the 1990s.
@@planescaped It's why we got Lexi (Jurassic Park), Player (Carmen Sandiego), and Wade (Kim Possible) as child prodigy geniuses who knew how to work their way around computer technology, for the benefit of the brands they are part of.
"Six people in, five comps." - Jay Hunter describing my drawing power.
You're confusing brachiosaurus and brontosaurus constantly. The apatosaurus was mislabeled as a brontosaurus. The brachiosaurus in the movie is neither. And brontosaurus is now recognised as a subspecies of apatosaurus.
I am looking forward to this review ever since you started posting the NoggerU content on CZcams. Thank you and stay safe, everyone!
"Clever girl". Dennis says it in Sunny when Dee escapes his bedroom! I knew it was from something else!
Yo! This was a doozy to get viewable on CZcams but we did it! Pls thumbs up the vid, it'd really help us out 👍 cheers gorgeous!
I was really getting worried you guys were going to go through the entire review without a single mention of Billy and the Cloneasaurus.
"I'd like to think if this was happing to me, I'd just give up."
"I'd have died back at the car!"
Relatable 💯 😄
If I wasn't a dino nerd, I wouldn't be annoyed by the fact that you guys incorrectly state that most of the dinosaurs present in this movie are from the Triassic Era (they're from the Cretaceous Era), you keep referring to Brachiosaurus as Apatosaurus, and you keep referring to paleontologists as "archeologists", but I am a dino nerd, hence I am (kinda) annoyed.
I was thinking the same thing.
I was confused about how they kept referring to Newman as a security guy... thought he was a tech support/programmer. That said, glad to see the review. Love the movie, this review, and the OSW boys.
more like Cretinous Era
Also Brontosaurus has been recognized as a separate genus to Apatosaurus since 2015
Dunno why, but that predator music at the end made me laugh hard haha
My dad took me to see this on release in the Cinema, I was fucking terrified for months! i was only six at the time mind you but fuck me this film scared me.
Just got home tired after closing tonight. I got so excited to see this video and will be the highlight of my week. Thank you guys for the content you are amazing.
Wow, thanks you did this. My mum went to the cinema with me in 1993 and cheated me as 12 when I really was just 10 so I could watch it.
It's iconic. It's so amazing that all it takes is just a cup water and a little tremor. So good!
I forget how much I love this movie. Saw it at 14 in the theater, was the biggest deal I ever saw in my life
Slappin a Like already, slapass!
“Just look for the JP mark!!!”
HUGE shout-out to Jay Hunter's consistent efforts to use alliteration to drive a point home or summarize an event. Absolutely love the emaculate use of the English language
There's a house up the road from me with a delorean...Mark out every time I go past, fucking awesome
The thing they do where they transpose wresters onto the characters is what I do with like every piece of media lol
It always confused me, until I realised Ellie is telling *herself* to run. Anyway, I know what I'm watching tonight.
You guys are awesome and this is my favorite movie of all time. Thank you so much for doing this!
25:36 JP: Rampage Edition for the Sega Genesis was the best
I get goosebumps everytime the Dino reveal in the jeep.
I wish you would have talked about how there was a misfire when the T-Rex bite at the cars sunroof. The T-Rex was not supposed to break through, so the reaction of the kids is 100% real
Great choice, when i saw this movie the 7 o clock show was sold out so we took my brother home as he was too young at the time and my dad and I saw the later show, I’ve seen 4 out of the 5 jurassic park/world movies with my dad, after we saw the 5th one my dad said “I think jurassic park should close”😆
I can't wait for Scotty P v the world!! Thank you for all the content. You guys keep crushing it, Brah! Keep up the awesome work!
Nice to see the lads share the same sentiment about my favorite movie!
Jurassic Park is the Hogan of Crichton novels turned into movies. And Congo is the Macho Man of Crichton movies.
I looked everywhere for this review! I marked out big time! :D
This movie is a masterpiece. Like all masterpieces, it was an ensemble effort, with everyone involved giving it socks! It was also a product of its time and place. We will never see another Jurassic Park film like this, although I would hope that another group of passionate, talented individuals can create another masterpiece like this.
And it is yet another case for the need for practical effects in film making. We use computers for everything now, as it should be, but we still need practical effects, if you want to make something truly special.
I’m sorry but if this doesn’t make at least the top 20 (probably top 10 realistically) for greatest films of all time you’re just not being honest with yourself. JP really is what filmmaking is all about, at any age you will be absolutely awestruck by what you’re seeing. Fucking glorious from start to finish
"my favorite part is when the raptor sees Lex" and then Lex puts the raptor in the Torture Rack!
Complete with Luger selling?
Love all OSW reviews-need more!

"Gary Rydstrom?!" WWWOOOOOOOOOOWWW!!!!
A great film and an awesome review. The T-Rex 'outta nowhere'! Brilliant work guys, cheered me up when most needed. All the best from Norwich, Partridge Country...
This is still one of my favorite movies. I can remember renting the genesis game over and over and loving it
This was amazing gents. Truly one of the all time great films.
Glad u enjoyed it mate!
The book does explain that they had to do a ton of guesswork to properly build and repair the DNA sequences used to create the dinosaurs, and that they don't always know exactly what they are creating until the dinosaur grows up. This and due to the environment in 1990 being different than that of Triassic period life on earth means dinos often grow into traits that were not accurate to how they once were. Hence why the velociraptors in the movie and book are a lot more of a threat than they were in real life and some dino names are misclassified.
23:30 - absolutely correct. I literally do this in every day life all the time.
The fact you guys used Weird Al's "Macarthur Park" cover @ 40:09 made me inordinately happy lol
V1 hosting?! God, the world really has turned upside down!
Amazeballs. I love this film and saw it in the cinema with my dad when it got released.
“Should have sprung for 65…”
👌
Oh me mao, it's my favorite movie from when I was a boy. I still remember seeing it in theaters back in the day. It's crazy it's almost 30 years old and still looks incredible.
I just got my sexy Ian Malcolm shower curtain
Just a correction Nedry wasn't head of security he was the chief programmer on the computer systems and programmed himself a backdoor
Kenny Omega spotted in the background at 6:07
"Can of shaving foam rolls down the hill most likely never to be seen again." It's been a little while since I last watched Jurassic World but wasn't they where they got the DNA. I know that was in the first trailers when they would slowly show the can being buried in mud as the theme played.
Love your wrestling vids but this has been a great movie review. It's the small details like the sound effect of the can and the dilophosaurus that just geek me out and make me so happy.
Glad you enjoyed it bruddah! Hope we did one of the greatest films of all time justice
Been living on Kauai (filming location) my whole life. Was 9 years old when the hurricane hit during the filming of this movie. Once in a while I'll hike to where the big jurassic park "king kong" gates were, sadly all that remains of it is barely the frame made of a few metal poles. The scene where the lawyer is being pulled on a small raft with the diggers is less than a mile from my house, it's an awesome swim spot🤘🤙🏽BRAH!!
I was gonna bag on the Academy for not giving this movie Best Picture, since it is so iconic years later but then I realized that the actual winner was Schindler's List, so I felt bad
