The EVO MR is equipped with a turbocharged Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that produces 291 horsepower and 300 foot pounds of torque. The EVO MR is exclusively fitted with a six-speed TC-SST dual-clutch automatic.

I am mighty glad that Mitsubishi didn't change the look of the car. The design of the outlook is absolutely amazing. It's gorgeous. Love every bit of it.

yes jeff, i have the upgrade sound system on mine. the sub produces clean bass. i like it and i am not going to get an aftermarket like i done in the pass.

How did you get the to average fuel economy tracking on the navi? I own a fully loaded 14 MR and do ~100miles daily driven, something like that could help me optimise mpg.

what are you on? mpg is independent of how much fuel/gas the car holds
why is the mpg so low for a 2.0l engine? a 1999 lexus ls400 4.0l v8 gets the same mpg +1 better highway

i see a lot of review off others evo and some say evo mr and other evo gsr what is the difference

short gears are for the normal mode where short gears enable better gas milage and smoother ride
starting to remind me of the nissan GTR. Launch control, dual clutch transmission.
Buddy, the transmission is still considered 'automatic' regardless if it has a dual clutch. If there's no stick shift and no manual clutch to push in, the transmission is automatic. Car knowledge 101 here.
Hate paddle shifters. Only EVO I would ever get is 7-8. Good thing I'm poor so I don't have to worry :D Great video Dan :)

Its an automatic what do you expect?
the evo only holds 14.5 liter of fuel which is about 4.5 gallons of fuel so it has great mpg but u have to refuel alot for the 4.5 gallons to save weight...
they didnt really get 4.7 when i timed it on the 0-60 video it was 4.25..plus its not the FQ version which is FQ360 with 360hp and FQ400 with 401 hp

Yah that's top of the line MR Touring... new color replaces the Octane Blue :( I dig this one but Octane blue is such a nice, cop-magnet color! =D
The transmission and performance maps are for power throughout the band and has All-Wheel Drive. LS400 is an old lady car where Gertrude is lucky to get up to the speed limit. Evo's just say "beat the piss out of me, i like it"

on highway i get about 23-24mpg if im light on the throttle

I got 24.9 in my 2007 v6 Maxima so it's not very impressive to me, considering it's a 4 cylinder.
doesn't matter the size of the tank, if you knew how MPG works.

HA, still pretty damn quick though. I still would love to have an evo. I drive a CVT lancer right now but want a wrx next. i went to the dark side ;)
Tuning, gearing, AWD ... Those two engines are practically dead on for HP/torque: the Evo is 291 HP / 300 foot pounds and the LS400 is 290 / 300.
yeah, just like those F1 cars that have a similar dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters.
If this car wasnt automatic or the actual name is Semi-automatic. You would have a car that has two clutch pedals and two gear shifters. imagine trying to drive that...the TC-SST is essentially a 2 three speed manual transmissions in one box controlled by a computer.

I think they meant shorter gear ratios..the shorter the ratio the longer the gear
It's a DCT.... Same kind of trans that's in Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, and GTR35. The GSR is the manual version.

Loving this car! I need a dual clutch tranny and I think this is the most affordable dual cluth auto out there. I can only fit lil people in the back of my 2012 mustang 5.0!
Most affordable dual clutch? I think the 2012 and up Ford Focus takes that crown.

gentlemonsterkennels ahh Ford guy I see... my ex had one too but it started crapping out on her after 2 yrs so she traded it for a Honda civic coupe, the Focus was smooth tho.
meetoob23 I'm more of a anything that goes fast guy. Lol. I own the 2005 Ford Focus wagon. It's too old to have the dual clutch. But I've had it since 2008 with zero engine/tranny issues other than the motor mount and wheel barring issues. But I got the car for $3,400 with 27k miles (salvage) so I can't complain.
I heard about the focus (newer ones) having issues with the tranny. That sucks.

I love this car, had to have one but financially it would of been a strain. I instead bought the 2013 Ralliart Touring, It's not an evo but darn close and 35k instead of 45k.

Base being the key word. I wanted nav, sunroof, etc. I looked everywhere it would of been an 8-10k difference.
+Exhaustdd I paid 44k for a 2013 used MR =)
Wish it was a manual 6 speed
I test drove this vehicle recently in my pursuit for the sporty 4 door that fits my needs. The power is great the awd is good. but there are certain things that I just could not get past. The plastics in this car feel and look like shit, even in the MR model. The trunk is tiny, if you have a family it will be rough on storage for trips or whatever. The Ricaro's are premium but thats it, even the layout of the heated seat buttons sucks. The interior needs a refresh, especially at this price.

the gas mileage is horrible on that evo. 25mgp highway from a 4 cylinder? The 2013 shelby gt500 gets 25mgp highway and it has twice as many cylinders and 650 horsepower.

EVOs and STIs cant be separate they are eco cars on steroids just like the Si for the civic, SRT-4 for the Neon, and SRT-8s for most of Dodges V-8s. They aren't separate models. Per se.

Well the new lancer is going to be smaller. So hopefully that means the new evo will be lighter

jesus....terrible mpg on this car....I get the same on my Challenger R/T V8 in Italy.
