    I'm trying to decide between a used 2010+ Evo X MR or a new WRX as my next daily driver and i'm coming from a base mustang v6. The extra rear space is a must and i'm still looking to have some fun in my daily commute. It's a tough one..

      Get the wrx as a dd

    • @bigjayfitness
      @bigjayfitness Před 9 lety

      depends on you and where you live. Do you mind a hard ride, are your streets nice or bumpy? The wrx with a stage 2 pro tune and maybe some light suspension mods such as sway bars would have you impressed with performance yet nice day to day drivability. Will get better fuel mileage, nicer sound, and more reliable. Only downside, is saying you don't have an EVO. an EVO is awesome for the first few months, but after 3-4 months, it gets old fast.

    Steve, did you try Super Sport mode and Launch Control? I loved both on my X MR :D

      If you hit the toggle again and hold for 3 seconds it flips to Super Sport, even faster shifts and holds it right to the redline, very aggressive. Also allows you to launch the car by simply holding the brake and flooring it, release the brake and hold on tight. Also appeared as though you didn't have the AYC brake disabled for the hoonage clip, press and hold the traction control off button and it disables the braking portion of the active yaw control allowing much more wheel spin. You really only scratched the surface of what the car is capable of, kind of disappointing.

    Mitsubishi could have at least updated the interior quality of this car if they were going to keep the mechanics & exterior the same for 6+ years.

  • @Kamukix
    @Kamukix Před 10 lety

    I had no idea they still sold this car in the US.....wow I REALLY had no idea Mitsubishi! That's pretty bad, but they've been in trouble here for quite some time now. Seems the same car though for better or worse.

  • @TandemDawgBMG
    @TandemDawgBMG Před 10 lety +4

    So basically this car hasn't changed since Top Gear tested this years ago? They haven't even offered a more powerful engine yet? Come on Mitsubishi, seriously, give us more power!!!!!!!!

    • @DevPack
      @DevPack Před 10 lety +1

      it still kicks ass though and is very fun to drive. Also the way Mtisu has been going about their cars recently they should keep this how it is lol.

    • @TandemDawgBMG
      @TandemDawgBMG Před 10 lety

      DevPack yeah i'll agree it's a great car, but it is falling behind to all of the competition quickly. For instance, between the time Mitsubishi launched the Evo X and now, Subaru has already re-shaped the Impreza twice and co-developed, launched, and sold in great numbers a brand new RWD sports car. Mitsubishi won't keep selling any cars here in the states if they don't start freshening the line-up soon.

  • @exodus3252
    @exodus3252 Před 10 lety

    Surprising that Mitsu and Subaru don't give their rally cars more power. 291? Didn't they used to have 300? Why are they dropping in power? These things aren't even as fast as my stock G37 coupe, an engine that came out in 2009.

    • @Kvandy15
      @Kvandy15 Před 10 lety

      Also worth noting that this engine was released in 2008, so the fact that yours was out in 2009 isn't really a point worth making. It's always been 291 for the X in the states but there are models ranging up to 440hp in euro markets, it's a mostly self imposed limitation in the tuning. You can unlock another 50hp or so just getting it tuned up.

    If Mitsubishi hadn’t stopped building these and built a worthy successor Evo or built a vehicle people actually would “LIKE” to buy, they wouldn’t be in such sorry shape they’re in now. Mitsubishi’s new vehicles today are jokes.
