Probably plenty of people just like him just trying to drive, get their mirrors punched off for no reason just because someone on a bike probably decided to rev their engine (saying look at me look at me I'm a bike and you just did something in a vehicle that could put me in danger of crashing) instead of using their brakes. I know it's sketchy for people on bikes, but give and take goes a long way. Yielding to something that weighs 3000 pounds more than you do is pretty much always going to be a safe bet. But also thinking of how you would feel exposed on a bike like that, vehicle drivers need to give bikes more room than you think

Not just from getting hurt, but it’s very expensive to repair a motorcycle these days. We’re balancing on two wheels with zero defense, so it’s always a calculated risk on a motorcycle. Watched this video again and this guy is a real hazard to motorcycles. He wasn’t just doing what he wanted. The guy who knocked on his window was the right guy to speak with him. @@RWD1804 when you take out riders who were driving aggressively, at excessive speeds, and alcohol consumption the accident and fatality rate goes WAAAY down! All three I might add are 100% preventable. Also if you want to ride fast and aggressive and you go to the track you are FAR more likely to walk away with out injury. They have run off areas, gravel traps, safer barriers. I’ve laid it down 3 times on the track and never had more than a sprained thumb.

A friend of mine and his brother had this happen, 3 bikers surrounded his car and wouldn’t let him pass. They hopped out and he hit one of the bikers in the head and the impact with the ground killed him. He’s in prison right now. Everyone lost. Always someone crazier than you.

You can’t block the entire road going less than the speed limit because you are trying to stay together. I hate when bikes and car clubs do this. I got stuck behind 20 corvettes once doing this for 30 miles on the interstate 2mph less than the speed limit.

I don’t filter, I stay where I am as if in a car.
The only thing I do is go around a vehicle to the right when they take a left turn because there’s just enough room to pass as they wait to turn. That’s as far as I go.

Same with people that drive as if a motorcycle is at the same level as a car.
For example merging into traffic with a motorcycle is a completely different story than doing the zipper with other cars.
First it sucks going really slow on a motorcycle, then merging with all cars makes it much harder.
When it gets hairy like that, I wouldn’t blame a rider for filtering just to save himself or herself from dumping the bike.
Not just from getting hurt, but it’s very expensive to repair a motorcycle these days.
We’re balancing on two wheels with zero defense, so it’s always a calculated risk on a motorcycle.
Watched this video again and this guy is a real hazard to motorcycles.
He wasn’t just doing what he wanted.

@@RWD1804 when you take out riders who were driving aggressively, at excessive speeds, and alcohol consumption the accident and fatality rate goes WAAAY down! All three I might add are 100% preventable. Also if you want to ride fast and aggressive and you go to the track you are FAR more likely to walk away with out injury. They have run off areas, gravel traps, safer barriers. I’ve laid it down 3 times on the track and never had more than a sprained thumb.
@RWD1804 Not half the time. I used to work at Harley and we taught this in our riding class...over 90% of the time the biker is the striking vehicle. Almost ALL the time.
@@jjohnson4055 sometimes that’s because the car pulled out in front of the bike. But often times it’s because of excessive speed. And I know cagers should be more aware but I always tell people I ride with “on a bike you’re far less visible and far less protected… ride accordingly”

A friend of mine and his brother had this happen, 3 bikers surrounded his car and wouldn’t let him pass. They hopped out and he hit one of the bikers in the head and the impact with the ground killed him. He’s in prison right now. Everyone lost. Always someone crazier than you.

You can’t block the entire road going less than the speed limit because you are trying to stay together. I hate when bikes and car clubs do this. I got stuck behind 20 corvettes once doing this for 30 miles on the interstate 2mph less than the speed limit.

If there is an obstruction or a vehicle travelling FAR below the speed limit, you absolutely can. Slow moving farm vehicles are a good example.
