The new Cadillac XT4 is a great entry level luxury crossover that looks sharp on the outside, has nicely updated tech on the inside, is very comfortable, and provides plenty of interior and cargo space. Compact crossovers are the moneymakers these days and the XT4 is the smallest crossover in the Cadillac line-up. Is it sporty or luxurious or somewhere in the middle? Prices for the 2019 Cadillac XT4 range from $34,795 for the Luxury FWD trim up to $41,795 for the Premium AWD trim.
On the outside Cadillac has done a good job of taking their existing styling and applying it to smaller chunkier platform as compared to the sedans and coupes. The vertical LED lights looks great and the grill get metallic accents. Outback there is a cool spoiler and vertical tail lights that are reminiscent of the Escalade.
Under the hood is a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 237 horsepower ad 258 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is backed up by Cadillac’s new 9-speed automatic transmission. The AWD system lessens fuel economy by one MPG with the XT4 managing 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway.
Then interior is a good example of entry level luxury. The materials are quality and the accents are not overly done in chrome. The seats are comfortable and features heat/cooling as well as massage features.

Picked one up last month. Stickered almost $54 K but got discounted by $8K , but so many features loaded - HUD, Massage Sears, leather stitched dash and all 4 doors , rear seat heat, all other safety systems etc. Costco program gets you another $700 cash card. Very smooth engine too.

$54K fully loaded is pretty much the norm for vehicles in this class. However, not all XT4s are specd out fully loaded on dealer lots. Not everyone wants a vehicle fully loaded and just want whatever they want on the vehicle and be satisfied with it. There is a reason you can get this vehicle for $35K-$41K from Luxury, Premium Luxury & Sport which offers decent value IMO.
Also, this is 2019. Cars, CUVs, SUVs and trucks are expensive nowadays and I'm not talking about luxury branded models. It's not 20 to 30 years ago when cost of living back then was cheaper. Everything nowadays is inflated so expect that to apply for transportation as well.

Cadillac all the way. BMW's all look the same and depends how long you want to keep it( cost of repair over time). My neighbor bought a BMW X1. She sold it after one year because of mechanical problems . The BMW was at the shop every month. Maybe just bad luck and got a lemon ,happens with all manufactures .Iv'e owned Cadillac the last 14 years. An SRX and a 2016 CTS V-Sport. I can tell you one thing Cadillac has the fun factor ! Good Luck!

It's so weird to me that over a decade later and the new cars, like this one, are smaller with less space and utility than old Crown Vics, Grand Marquises, and Town Cars and only get just a couple more MPG on the highway from engines half the size of V8s.

I really like this car , but caddy's raising the bar a little high for a fully loaded model. Not for 54k , that's xt5/Xt6 money which you can get comparably equipped to a loaded xt4. Not a MUCH more powerful engine.👍
