  • The XT4 is the Cadillac of compact SUVs, literally. More specifically, it's the uniquely styled small SUV from the company that brought you the Escalade, one of the largest SUVs on the road. Distinct exterior design is something Cadillac leans heavily into, and the XT4 seems no different. But what's under all that American sheet metal? Join Micah Muzio won't you and find out.

    I told my wife to buy what she wanted. She checked out and test drove several competing brands and models. She chose the XT4. It is better looking than all of its competitors. Cool headlights, great cameras, and excellent Bose sound system. Love the steering wheel.

    I really love this car. I prefer it over the XT5 as well. The only thing I like about the XT5 is the high profile tires. This one has lower to match it’s short stance. Either way, I would absolutely consider a Cadillac as my next car with this design language.

    French dude here and I am curious about how Cadillac can make such cool cars (on paper) yet at the same time fall face first when it comes to quality? How hard can it be to make a car that does not have loose pieces of trim dangling everywhere? America beats the rest of the world in most things but the cars, man.

    • @caelanes
      @caelanes Před 5 lety +6

      Well first of all Americans like cool looking cars on the outside, while Europeans typically see cars as a mode of transport, not a lifestyle. Cadillac cars nowadays are pretty nice tho, although they were pretty garbage for a while.

    • @TheShadowstorm93
      @TheShadowstorm93 Před 5 lety +7

      @@caelanes Speaking as an American, the opposite is true. Most Americans of working class age see cars as a mode of transport. The only ones who actively seek "cool-looking" cars are enthusiasts, the young new drivers, old men during mid-life crises or retired, and suburban moms looking for a "quirky little car" to drive.

    • @domdrty
      @domdrty Před 5 lety +4

      @@SomeThingDunb the answer is easy. GM places profits above all else to include quality. I was a die hard Chevy fan for about 15 years, but I grew tired of the lack of quality in the little things. The last straw was when GM refused to replace my Takata airbag (which they still haven't). Meanwhile Japanese manufacturers have replaced the airbags on their cars.

    I’ve been looking at a fully-loaded XT4 lately and it’s quite a looker in person. But at $56K, it’s got some weird quirks I’m having a hard time getting onboard with. For starters, the navigation screen is the smallest in the segment at 8”. The Audi Q5 isn’t much larger at 8.8”, but at least it has a 12.3” digital gauge display that’s amazing. Then there’s the power folding mirrors. They’re not automatic. On any Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Volvo, Jaguar, and even Lincoln with power folding mirrors, you can set them to fold automatically when locking a car and unfold when unlocking. Not the case with the XT4. You have to press a button when you exit the car to fold the mirrors and then lock the car. Or you have to remove the key fob from your purse or pocket and hold down the lock button for 3 seconds to fold them. It’s details like that which make me question why GM doesn’t study the luxury market better. I mean, just make the feature work like every other competitor does!

      alex Kim yes it is , this thing hardly has anything standard. If you want anything you will be spending at least 45k for this.

    All you did is complain. You look more like a Toyota man instead of a Cadillac

      I think maybe complaining about nothing is kind of his "thing?" I remember a few years ago he reviewed the car I own currently, the Ford C-Max hybrid. It, like all Fords that used the Sony premium audio (Ford is now using B&O for its branded audio), had this central volume/power knob that is slightly flared instead of cylindrical. Otherwise it works like EVERY OTHER KNOB on the planet. You TURN IT. And he like flops his fake-limp hands all over it and goes like, "Why is this knob so weird??" like you can't even use it. I'm like, Dude. You literally made up a complaint instead of reviewing the damn car. Is it just for a cutesy camera-mugging opportunity? No idea.

    Kind of misleading that you list the RDX as being more expensive. Starting list prices are just for PR/marketing. Once you add in the options a similarly equipped A-spec is 45k while the Cadillac is 55k.
    I was cross shopping both of these lately since I'm looking for a new crossover but the Cadillac got a bit too expensive sadly.
