      Stop bringing up the 2011 NBA Finals against the Mavericks as a black eye against LeBron without bringing up the fact the Mavericks were using zone defenses against the Heat. The zone defense was illegal in the Jordan era. Michael Jordan never saw the defensive looks the Mavericks were using as Lebron did.

    Love how Shannon forgets how monstrous the West was in Kobe's era and how ridiculously difficult the East was in MJs. The Lakers had to go through the Kings, Blazers, Spurs, Mavs, Suns, etc. All those teams would consistently win 50+ games.
    The Bulls went against the Knicks, Pistons, Celtics... in the finals they went against teams that were just as good as Golden State. That Portland team in 92 was the best in the West. The Suns with Barkley in 93 were the best in the west. Sonics with Kemp and Payton were also the #1 seed. Utah with Malone and Stockton were back to back #1 seeds in 97 and 98. These aren't just whatever teams. They were ridiculously good. The Lakers team in 91 was at the end of its era, but the road to get to those finals for MJ was insane.
    I get that Shannon is a LeBron lover, but how can you overlook the talent gap between the conferences? Not only that, how can you ignore the fact that LeBron has never won without 2 more superstars on his team? Both Kobe and MJ only had one other player who you could consider a top 25 NBA talent. LeBron has had Wade, Bosh, Irving, and Love. Bosh and Love were owning people when they were in Toronto and Minnesota. They just accepted taking a back seat when playing with LeBron. Irving has shown he's top level. Wade in his prime was one of the best SGs ever.
    You can put LeBron on that Lakers team, at the same age as Kobe and he would not have won 5 having to get through THAT West. You're putting them in Kareem and Magic territory which is simply ridiculous.

Frankly, I think that Kobe is a much better fit with Shaq: shooting, ability to handle the ball, iso creation...Lebron is a great passer but Shaq wasn't catching a ton of alley oops or playing quick up-tempo basketball...it was feed the post and drop step boom or kick out to a shooter if the ball went to Shaq or Kobe pushing in transition if he ended up with the ball

Thats why every descent point guard conplained or left bron. Rebounds? He sags off his man so he can get boards. Im not a bron hater, but a scout said the same thing in 2003. Bron doesnt play defense.

      Lebron plays in a way different generation where getting to the paint to score is much easier... When he played prime Dwight, he couldn't do nothing in the paint. Same when he played Dallas in the finals with Chandler locking down the paint. Now big men are becoming less important in the game and shooters spread the floor to make it so easy. Anyone who grew up in the Kobe era knows that physical contact, being triple teamed, and still grinding through an 82 game season with no games off is a more respectable career than Lebrons.
      Also Kobe eliminated WAY MORE 50-win teams in the post season than Lebron.

    I disagree with the idea that LeBron having Shaq means more rings because in order for LeBron to be effective the paint has to be open, but the one thing Shaq does is clogged up the paint. The difference is, Kobe could shoot from the outside and LeBron can't. So they would have had to surround themselves with nothing but knockdown shooters which also means they would probably have a poor defensive team because historically, great shooters or and always the best defenders.
    Now, they would obviously be difficult to stop because you have these two dominant bodies on the court, but LeBron driving to the bucket with whoever is guarding Shaq standing down there makes it more difficult for LeBron to be as effective as he supposed to be. That's why he turned Chris Bosh and Kevin Love into shooting guards so they could open up the floor for him to drive.

      LOL! The think LeBron is known for is exploiting an asset when he has it. LeBron would've gotten Shaq more opportunities and distributed the ball more to other guys because he wouldn't have had to be a scorer. Chris and Shannon are likely right. Kobe cost the Lakers the title against the Pistons (HIS WORDS NOT MINE) because he couldn't accept the fact Tayshaun Prince was containing him. As often as Kobe's scoring aided the Lakers it hurt them (And i'm a Kobe Stan). Many of those great comebacks they show of him are as a result of poor shot selection early on that helped dig those holes.

      Kobe Kane. 100% accurate. Bron lovers don't understand basketball, they only care about reading stats and eating whatever the agenda of the media delivers. Ppl who like the game can easily see why Jordan, Kobe and few other players are better than Lebron, and that doesn't mean Lebron is a bad player, he simply isn't at that level.

    • @csd8204
      @csd8204 Před 5 lety +4

      @@hectormed9446 So, what you're saying is people who's opinion mirrors yours know the game and the ones who don't are clueless? We can't just disagree about something neither of us can prove definitively? An argument can be made for any elite player. It just comes down to your particular preference in style. You can't refer to someone being a scorer and then say all someone else cares about is stats. Particularly when you're talking about Jordan who ruthlessly chased the scoring title yearly when he was in his prime - as did Kobe. Ironically, Bosh only averaged a few less points a game in Miami than Toronto which is one of the ironies of LeBron's supposed neediness. The overall contributions of personnel on the floor improves when he's playing.
