- There are several different ways to fade out hair dye ranging from slow gradual fading to more active fading to aggressive fading processes so in this video I take you through 7 methods of how to fade out your hair dye.
I almost always use semi-permanent dyes so I know these methods work really well for those, but I have also successfully faded out permanent dyes this way as well. I hope you find this video helpful and it answers all of your hair fading questions!

Head and shoulders is my favorite for fading color out. With damp hair, scrub that stuff in and let it soak for 30 manures to an hour, and keep it moist. I swear to god it leeches the color right out. âșïž
I used to use it and ran out but I love how it works too! It doesnât make your hair feel too dry and that is usually my main concern

I got back my natural hair color after dyeing it with almost black permanent professional dye. I got it back with C vitamin and head and shoulders. I did that method for at least 5 times. After the first few I managed to fade out the black, but my hair was a faded red. My natural haircolor was mousybrown, so I kept doing the head and shoulders and vitamin c!! for me it was the full success. I managed to get my natural hair color back. I am so proud! I left in on my hair between 40 minutes and 1 hour. I left it once 2,5 hour, and it worked more, than when I left it on just for 1 hour. I used C vitamin ashes, not the tablets!!
HELP!! You are so knowledgeable and your hair is absolutely gorgeous đ your technique is great, Iâve done most these treatments before and LOVE Vitamin C! But itâs been a while and maybe my pregnancy brain has helped me forget lol I have long & curly, split blue/orange hair thatâs faded to purple/golden yellow. I have black box dye in my hair been doing the vitamin c trick in my hair for 2 weeks been helping I've been doing it 2twice a week and my tips are still dark but closer to my roots are a red-brown which im happy about because when i use a color remover will do a lot better

This is a great video. Just want to make a note: people have a false impression that 'natural' concoctions are less damaging than bleach. I think a low volume or bleach bath is just as 'gentle' on the hair as is vitamin C and baking soda solutions. Your hair looks great though.
Yeah i think really low volume bleach bath cant even fully get into the cuticle right ? Like itll just remove the staining on the surface

@@bea8271 OH, thanks for asking! I guess I would add that low volume bleach (10 vol) is quite gentle, but it will still get you very blonde. Just has to sit on the hair longer. Doing 3 different baking soda washes is way more damaging.
Did you do these treatments-proceedures back to back? Or did you wait a few days between?
I added a few drops of essential lemon oil to shampoo also Dawn dish soap for dark colors it faded box and semi permanent dye nicely strips lighter colors fast just leave it on under a shower cap as long as you want I did 1 hour I also did the same with lemon juice
Lemon juice and sunlight, not orange juice. Works well in the summer, on natural dirty blond but the hair has to be exposed to sunlight for a few hours.
Also, citric acid powder is possible to find in some larger Asian markets.
can you put semi permanent dye directly over this or do you still need to bleach it

I have a trick that I discovered accidentally that helps remove color even faster..ready!? Ok..it's store bought lemon juice in a spray bottle!!
1st rinse your hair like you're washing it but no soap 2nd pat dryish 3RD saturate hair in lemon juice!! 4th now do your vitamin C/soap agent of choice wash 5th plastic cap for however long you need 6th wash lightly and rinse 7th deep condition....Then re-color or put your oils and creams in and done!! *just to be safe I don't do any bleach the same day coz it can be a lil more drying with lemon juice AND the regular vitamin C treatment*
Lemon juice in your hair basically is drying and like a bleach so that's really damaging to your hair as well as the vitamin C treatment.

i have a purple underdye & the rest of my head is virgin dark hair. i want to go to blonde on my full head, so should i fade my underdye out with these methods and THEN bleach it along with my virgin hair? or can i bleach it alltogether

the bleached part underneath the purple underdye is like a level 7 ish 8 so that's why i want to lighten it aswell
Goig to the pool also fades your hair. I have a tiny pool and it has this plastic thing that floats and releases chemicals all the time so the water fades your hair in like hours. I had neon pink hair and I went there for like 2 hours and my hair just went pastel pink

Okay so Iâve had my blue for 3 months now and I want to change it. Is it too soon ?
be really careful leaving on a protein treatment for that long. itâs really easy to get protein overload which makes your hair drier and more brittle. you really shouldnât leave a protein treatment on for longer than what it says in the directions, but iâm glad this worked out for you. for people with less porous hair, please proceed with caution! also my go to hair fading concoction is 9 vol developer, baking soda, clarifying shampoo, and dish soap. there are a bunch of tutorials for this method on youtube and it works so quick and so well with very little damage (just a little drying, as to be expected)

Get a pill crusher. Its inexpensive and super easy. They have a mortar like one that twist and crush

Trying to fade the purple/blue hair I've had for like 5 months now and the vitamin C thing has not been very effective yet. I've done it twice, using a whole bottle of 500mg pills each time.. @@endless_waltz18 I used the vitamin C with shampoo method. It did it's job of fading my hair to a pastel purple, but my hair felt very dry afterwards. The next time that I want to remove semi-permanent color, I'll try a bleach bath.

thank you for this I tried the splat semi-permanent hair dye and it was totally bogus, the color didn't show up and it just dyed my scalp and it keeps bleeding even when i wash it with cold water.
I used the "violet" tried diluting with a lot of conditioner... and ITS BLUE đ like bright vibrant blue with the tiniest hint of dark purple. Also it stained everything. Rip

I used it before splat but didnt have enough of the dye for my whole head and sadly every single Sally's in my city was out of that one specifically đ That's how I ended up with using the splat violet. The best one I've used is shampoo, bicarb of soda, washing up liquid and a low developer all equal parts, takes most if not all dye out of your hair just leaving what's underneath.
