This will work for some people and won’t work for others. It depends on your hair history, what colors you used and so many other factors. I’ve done This SO many times and my hair has never fallen out. That being said just because mine didn’t fall out doesn’t mean your hair won’t. If your doing some weird at home mix of things like I do YOU are risking damage to your hair. I made this video because it has been a life saver for me. If YOU choose to do this YOU are taking a risk, it’s not on me. Mmkkkaayyyy????
girl like i told you a few months ago, this worked PHENOMENALLY on my hair. like i’ll never ever use another way. everyone’s hair is different tho, & that’s just common sense. all you did is suggest it🙃
I change my hair color every few months and I usually use bleach baths to remove color from my hair, because nothing else really works. Is this comparable to a bleach bath, in how well it removes color?
Depends on the color. It doesnt work that well on blue and green hair I’ve had the most success with purple pink and orange colors. In my opinion it’s way less damaging than bleaching your hair 👍🏻💕
Hey hun, as a hairstylist I love watching your videos and seeing all your creativeness! however I just want to let you know any time you use developer you should really be wearing gloves to protect your hands. It may not seem like a big deal but over time it can really mess with your skin and such! Keep up your eccentric style, I look forward to seeing more of your content!
@@hayleyaddair8281 i've recently discovered that if you DO use your hands, you can rinse with vinegar and it immediately stops the chemical reaction. no peeling dead skin!!!
If you only have 20 vol - mix it with water 50/50 = 10 volume. For example 2 ounces of 20 vol mixed with 2 ounces of water = 4 ounces of 10 volume developer ( thats what we do in the salons) If you'd rather use 5 volume then water it down a little more!
Thanks 🙏🏻 ❤
Dawn dish soap
Baking soda
Purple shampoo
Dandruff shampoo/**head and shoulders shampoo will work to!
10 developer
😊
Vannessa Ciemitis hi what’s 10 developer live in the uk not heard of it
larryS we use developer in the uk too
whats a 10 developer
Developer is the peroxide part of hair dye, it’s in every box dye
How much of each ingredient in the list?
This worked flawlessly on my hair. Bleached my hair then used a “silver” semi-permanent that turned out to be purple. This also happened to be at like 3am and I had shit to do the next day. In panic, I came here and literally had everything you mentioned. I used a 20 developer and went a little heavier than you did. Left in for 30 mins and my hair is now a light metallic blonde. Life saver!
And for what it’s worth, I can confirm that this recipe works on black natural hair bleached to platinum blonde.
And now you’re a life saver❤️❤️❤️
i’m in the same situation. wanted grey and it’s blue lmfao 😭
@@jaqsre me too!!! Fixing it tomorrow. How is yours now ? 🖤🤍
Its worth EVERYTHING since thats exactly what I have. Thank you!
Her dandruff shampoo and baking soda were bought at Dollar Tree. For those who like to save money like myself.
I got my baking soda for less than a dollar at my grocery store. Not everything is cheaper at dollar tree.
thank you so much for positing this comment
@@jessibuck98 you're right! Sometimes you get better bargains at local grocery stores 🙂. Thanks for posting that because I didn't think about that myself.
@@conniegarcia4940 you're welcome!
@@jessibuck98 yes, but in some places like new york city its expensive and you'll rarely find those bargains at least for me i had i a hard time for it, im content with spending a dollar at the dollar tree
I did this method and LISTEN it removed all the pink and the orange I had since months on my blonde hair. Now I'm blonde again uhuh Thanks gurl!!! Love you
People, if you're going to do this, make sure to do a conditioning treatment immediately after
So you have one you recommend? I’m doing this to my hair soon and I really don’t want my hair to be super damaged
100 % coconut oil from proclaim you should go to the Sally’s website now they have it 30% off so you only pay like $4 for it so worth it
I have the olaplex line is that okay to use?
@@alejandrab1989 I want to dye my hair with semi permanent dye from Lime Crime afterwards, should I do this hair mask after doing the Lime Crime? Or after the baking soda method before the Lime Crime?
@@Sarah-fe6yh definitely after the baking soda I would suggest you do a leave on mask treatment because the hair is so fragile then after dying the hair a deep conditioner should work
This is by faar THE BEST TECHNIQUE i have ever tried for stripping color out. It got rid of my hot hot pink hair and IM SHOOCK!! No damage at all 😍😍💗💗 love your content!!
Ive literally followed you for years and literallly this video is the life saver for all my crazy hair adventures lol this is a MUST for anyone who dyes their hair alot!!!!!!!!
You are an angel from heaven! I accidentally used too much red-gold eliminator to tone down brass and ended up with purple/gray hair. Two rounds of this process took it right out without going back to brass. Thank you!
where the hell was this treatment when I was dying my hair crazy effing colors every other week 🥵😳🤠
same same...... :(
Saaaame I just found out about this 😭👊🏻
Do I have to wash my hair before or leave dirty
right omg! I have faded dark ish blue i need to get rid of
I have this mixture in my hair right now, why am I seeing the damaged hair comments just now 😭😭 I'm scared! It's not super damaged as I had a cut not too long ago but the length is already above my shoulders now, pray for me
and? hair still intact?
@@ardoriayolagdinok9724 Yes! A little dry, but I have very hydrating hair masks that will help. It took out a lot of colour because I had rainbow hair, I'll do another round or find a more gentle way to remove the rest, then I'll be back to white blonde. Though my tips are still very blue, so I might put some purple over that for a dip dye effect cuz I don't expect the blue to come out
@@michellem4429 okay thanks for that thorough answer i think ima try this method too :)
I have done this a lot in the past. It won't damage your hair. Use a lot of deep conditioner leave in 15mts and rinse warm water
What happened?
So I tried this and it worked for me! 👏🏼 It got rid of all the permanent pink and a semi permanent pink and now I’m back with the bleached hair I was before. I also used some ion booster in the mixture 🙌🏼
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤️ Keep up the good work! ☺️
Is that the ion booster which is sallys beauty version of olaplex? To protect hair integrity during coloring?
I was wondering if this would do anything to permanent hair color. I hope this can help my hot mess!
I cant believe i didn't think of adding the booster
Did this without purple shampoo and dandruff shampoo I did use Castile soap though and it still lightened it now I do know it doesn’t work for everyone and I’m doing this on green/blue hair and it worked
I just tried this and it worked really well! Pulled all of my dark pink/purple tones out to a solid light blonde but my turquoise and blue tones are still there. My hair is pretty healthy and I use a ton of moisturizing conditioner and coconut oil serum on it. I am going in for a second round to see how much of this green/blue I can get out.
I did this today and it worked and removed all the dark pink out of my hair...Thank you for the tutorial. I will be using this method as my go to removal process.
Ruby Callahan how long do you leave it on
I knew about 3 of those ingredients but never thought of using baking soda... This is the video I've been needing for years thank you xP
Thank you for this! Did this to get rid of a red dye from the tips of my extensions so I could dye them completely yellow! Worked like a charm 😩
I tried this method without dandruff shampoo and only used purple shampoo and dawn dish soap, baking soda and 20 developer. My hair was faded Extreme Teal by Overtone. I dyed my hair twice, and my roots are coming back in. I'm applying for jobs and need to get it all out so I have a more professional hairstyle for my next job. This WORKED FOR ME! My hair is normal wavy and I have a buzzed side pixie cut, so very short hair. I've only dyed it this once, so the method stripped almost all of the color out. There are some blue areas where it was still pretty vibrant in the middle, but overall this worked wonders and toned down the original yellow bits of the original bleach blonde. Thanks for the tips!
By the way, for all things when using chemicals or bleach: let your hair get oily. Do the treatment after 5-6 days of not washing your hair. The more oil the better! Maybe do a few masks beforehand if your hair is already dry. Also doing a 15 minute mask afterwards helps. NEVER do this after you just washed your hair the night before. Your hair will be too clean and may become suuuper dry or damaged.
Thank you for your comment, I’m going to try this to remove my extreme pink Overtone. :)
I just tried this with full on pink and purple ends and it took it all out!! ✨✨ It left my hair a little dry but put some moisturizing stuff and oils, all good now 👌👌 oh yea I have super curly thick hair, so that probably helped with it not damaging.
I absolutely love your eyeshadow look in this video. Gorgeous 😍 I’m definitely going to be trying something similar.
I did this to get the last bit of blue out of my hair....and..welll...my hair fell out...I had like 5 strands of hair left after brushing!!...I had to cut all my hair off into a pixie cut!...not saying that this doesnt work..it deff does...but my hair was super damaged before hand..so I wouldnt recommend doing this if ur hair is super damaged prior to this because baking soda is really harsh on ur hair...I deff learned my lesson!!
Same though, blue hair is so difficult to remove then I tried this method and it immediately snapped the ends. Crispy and dried :(
😲
My hair fell out from doing this too :( mine was pixie length before and was down to my scalp in some areas lol
Maybe the developer caused this
Same with mine. I feel like it was the developer used but I'm letting me hair get some rest.
For anyone worried about doing this on damaged hair, it does vary for everybody but half of my bangs I recently bleached and dyed green. I bleached them once again after this and used this method today to make the ends lighter. My hair is damaged, but I have thick hair and it has NOT made my hair break more or fall out. However if you have thin hair it may affect it more, I’m not sure. Like she says do it at your own risk but for me it was fine - it should be fine for you too If you have damaged hair. And yes it did work but slightly so I’ll have to do it a few more times to get the colour I want.
I freaking love u
Literally Just woke up and I’m watching u again and immediately wanna do my hair HAHAHAA thanks for teaching us not to be afraid ! It’s all fun
Hi, love your hair work, it's entertaining to watch. now for this hair color removal, i have used OOPS that has worked for me pretty well and when i saw this video, it looked awesome. BUT without propper meassurements, it metaled a few patches of my hair. so i have to carefully comb my hair out when it dries from a shower. It did okay of removing a bit of the color out, but not as much. the purple shampoo did help of getting the yellow out, so now the yellow is a silver, LOL. This is my update for you of how I handled it, in the process i'm going to let my hair grow out and then cut away the hair I have "damaged" over the times of coloring and lightly CAREFULLY bleaching my hair. thank you so much for the videos you post up, love your work and stay beautiful!!!!
Hey aislinn! Thank you so much for this video! I tried it out on my green hair and it worked!!! I made a video on it and gave you credit for it. I’m so glad I found this video else I would probably ended up using bleach 😭😭
Totally worked for my hair! Did this today! Thank you so much!
Wow, this is awesome!! Girl you are mad freaking talented and absolutely gorgeous!!
Worked like a charm to get the remnants of my 11 month old AF purple out of my hair so I can do a new color! I used a great conditioning treatment afterwards and I have a rule of never bleaching my hair more than twice a year (last time was 11 months ago for my roots only), so even though some strands of my hair have come out, I don’t mind because my hair is so thick and fine that I can afford to lose some without notice. Next up: bleach roots, tone, and NEW COLOR! Thank you so much! 💜💙💜💙
can i use everything she mentioned minus the developer to get rid of my blue hair?
So I started with virgin hair, and used blue bleach powder and 40 developer, processed 40mins. I then used wella T18 toner, procesed 5 mins. It turned my hair a silvery purple. I then used this treatment, processed for 35mins and it removed all the purple and got the white hair I was looking for. Thanks so much for posting this hair treatment, it worked great!
Did you use 40 in the mixture or 10 ? Wondering if I use this mixture with 40 if it would be okay ?
@@cassidylopez671 Ya you probably could do that.
Thanks I’m new to dying my own hair & I took a risk & it actually ended up perfectly fine !
@@cassidylopez671 whew, thank goodness it turned out okay. I was about to comment NO NO NO DON'T USE 40
I’ve done this before definitely works. Highly recommend a deep conditioning after
Ur so cool I find ur personality so relaxing to watch
Omg thank youu soo much!! This worked perfectly even on permanent hair dye! 😭💕
I needed this video when I was trying to get blue out of my hair!!! 😭 oh well now I know for the future!
I have been skeptical of this technique. I'm going to give it a try now. Thanks
Omg i 💙💚💜 ur eyeshadow in this video! Would u pretty please do a tutorial on how to do it? Love all ur vids 🤘
Worked amazingly for pink/purple/lavender semi-permanent color!!!! I will definitely use this method in the future! Thanks for all you do, Aislinn! 😻🌈✨🫧
If your hair is already damaged, use coconut oil beforehand(like a deep conditioning treatment), don't rinse and apply selsun blue(anti dandruff shampoo) and crushed vitamin c tablets. Leave on for about 30 minutes and rinse then deep condition again.
so excited to see your next color
Thank you 😊 soon, I’ll try it on my hair.
Thank u so much for sharing this!!! I'm def gonna try soon 😃
Ah thank you! This method totally works. It totally stripped my hair of bright pink Crazy Color. The only bad thing though is that I forgot I had green under the pink, and I now have a groggy green blonde color 😂. Oh well!
GIRL! You saved my hair omg.
Holy smokes this is awesome!!!!! You’re freaking awesome for showing us this! Do you know if this would work to strip permanent or fade it a little?
In love with your makeup!
I dyed my hair purple with the horrible colorista washout and was perfect but looked like a wig a super fake horrible purple, a I did this and my hair turned out grey and still a bit purple, but they look beautiful! They I have this icy color, the only thing is the hair are a bit dry from the treatment but definitely worth it! Thank you
DONT USE THIS METHOD IF YOUR HAIR IS ALREADY CHEMICALLY DAMAGED. I did this and my hair thinned out so much I could barely do anything with it without someone asking if I'm balding.
thanks for the advice... mine is pretty fried
If your hair is already damaged, use coconut oil beforehand(like a deep conditioning treatment), don't rinse and apply selsun blue(anti dandruff shampoo) and crushed vitamin c tablets. Leave on for about 30 minutes and rinse!!
@@cosmicbug6264 really work?
This won’t happen to everyone though? It depends on your hair type and history like she says in her comment. Mines damaged kinda bad but I have it in my hair right now and it’ll be fine.
I tried and my scalp didn't feel good...ugh....i usually use a basic shampoo...but never hurt like this.....don't do if you have sensotive scalp too
😍 the eye makeup!
I’d LOVE to know what eyeshadow you used!!!!! Gorgeous!
Your make up Is on fleek, I need to know what to use!!!
Nice job this is very helpful but I have to say I love how you did your eye makeup very striking beautiful colors😀
Can't wait to try this! Having a hard time getting blue out of my hair. Thanks for the tips!
I had a stubborn blue in my hair , I used
1 ounce of bleach powder
4 ounces of dandruff shampoo
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
2 teaspoons of olive oil
it came out in 4 washes, didnt damage my hair like every other one I tried, plus the bleach isnt even activated so it doesnt damage your hair
Wow just what I needed thankssssss ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so trying this method I have green and blue hair I’m gonna let it fade a bit first and do a deep hair mask treatment before I damage it again thank you 🙏 😊❤️🤟
I wanna see a tutorial on that shadow !!! Love it !!!
I might try the products separately and maybe on a strand/small section. I’m glad you gave the disclaimer and others have given their input.
I just did this on my hair. I had virgin brunette hair (regrowth from chemo) that I lightened and did a dusty rose color. I want to try something diff and this made it a perfect natural blonde! I don’t want to color it now!!
I know this is an older video, but this worked perfect;y for me. I didn't tone as much as I hoped but did return it back to the yellow blonde it was before I dyed it. Amazing! But now I need some sort of mask or something.
Just did mine and added peroxide from a box of hair dye worked like a charm.
IM SO HAPPY I FOUND UR CHANNEL ILYSM KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 😭🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I’m so going to try that. Looks better than the Oops stuff I used
Omg it worked! Thanks Aislinn!!
Your eyeshadow is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!♥♥♥
This makeup? Boom! Beautiful
Love the makeup
Thank you for this ❤️
I have this mixture on my head right now! Clairol Purple Shampoo, Blue Dawn Soap, Head & Shoulders Classic, Baking Soda, 30 Developer (it was the only developer I had) I used Color Fix and it made my hair random shades of deep orange, and yellow at my roots. I did a 2 month wait before trying this. I’ll let you know if I’m bald or not! UPDATE: I left it on for 45 minutes and it didn’t do much, so I did another 10 minute treatment, still not even close to her white hair. So I did a stronger solution with just baking soda, developer, and dandruff shampoo. My hair is lighter but I think I’ll go to a professional once quarantine is over.
I only have 30 vol too and my hair is kinda damaged so I’m scared but I rlly wanna do it
This only works if your hair was already platinum before. It won't do as good of a job of lightening hair. If you are looking to go white and weren't platinum before, I would just do a normal bleaching instead. This is to remove direct dyes, not lift color further.
I did it with my blue hair and it worked 😊 and my hair roots got a lil lighter too. I love it! 😍😍😍 never using bleach again jijijiji Thank you so much
Really? I tried without dandruff shampoo (I also have a blue hair) and I did not notice any difference.
Can you PLEASE tell me what colours you have on your lids. Your eye makeup is absolutely magical!
this is gorgeous
Love your makeup in this video!! What did you use?
I see people saying that this ruined their hair??
It did that for me the first time I did it, BUT I highly believe it's because I put a shit ton of baking soda in it!!
Like, be careful with how much you use. Also, use 10 vol developer and not 20,30,40 .
Lmao.
Second time worked much better and I deep conditioned right away
When you use baking soda on the hair, you need to use a vinegar rinse with it to balance out the pH. Use apple cider vinegar
@@dianeaishamonday9125 yes yes yes
@@dianeaishamonday9125 could you shampoo with a neutralizing shampoo instead?
Why do you say definitely don’t use 20, 30 or 40 ? I’m in a pinch & wondering can I just use a teeny bit of 40 ? That’s all I have ! Or would the mixture work at all without it ? Please help if you have any advice !
@@dianeaishamonday9125 you put the ACV in the mixture?

Hmmm I will have to give this a try whenever I want to do a new color. Does not sound AS damaging as lightener, hmmm🤔
Thank you for sharing! 😁❤
My hair is currently this weird/awkward mermaid-y blue ish green color, and I'd love to change the color.
I am so happy to find this I found you from bradmomdo and omg you are amazing I love your hair!
I’m doing this rn I bought almost all of it in the dolar store so if you wanna save some money that’s the way to go :)! Love your videos they helped save my hait
I have rainbow hair and i esed dry shampoo and balding soda amd some of the color came out thanks for the video
Hey Aislinn can you recomend and good dark grey dye x
Unreal! Trying now.
I tried this method just the other day. It took most of the pink out of my hair but not much of the blue. The blue turned bright greenish lol. I literally thought id have to shave my head bald because the mixture wouldn't rinse out of my hair 😂
It was like never ending soap suds.
I almost had a panic attack lmao.
💀😂😂😂
This process doesn't really damage it but it does really dry it out Because baking soda is stripping everything in your hair, the unnatural pigment, The built up product, and the oils. So it does make your hair very dry! Definitely deep condition afterwards
I have been trying to remove the red splat I did for months now. I have tried different bleaching times. I might try this and leave it for an hour. I'm a natural dirty blonde. I always do 20 vol when I do any hair color or bleach. When I have been trying to get rid of it I leave it for 40 ish min.
its workin surprisely. My extenciton was medium blue (not light!) and now its greenish yellow I ll do this one more time I think it ll be okay
This is amazing:) 🌈🖤
Omg yesssssssssssss trying this soon
did you try it
@@MizzCupcake244 yes dont do it girl. Dried tf out my hair ....
thanks for the video i liked it and the first time i see you you have a hair like me i wish i had already tried many times and i couldn't get it i just wrote myself and it's very nice
Im going to do a video trying this lol My hair isnt damaged and takes to lightener and dyes really well so I should be okay. Just waiting for my purple shampoo and my developer to get hereee :)
I used Ajax bleach alternative...baking soda...20 volume... purple shampoo and head and shoulders...it stripped the neon green I had back to aqua blue the previous color but my roots are still neon green...next up is a bleach bath
You put Ajax bleach alternative on your hair!!!? How did it turn out? Did the Ajax really mess your hair up??
Oh yeah btw I love your hair cut did you cut it and if so can you do a video or explain how it cut I love your cut Beautiful!
So I did this and my hair started falling out. I totally think it was on me and I trying to add more baking soda then suggested to make it thicker.
DONT DO THAT! Lol.
And like any hair dye job start from the ends and work your way up to the roots.
Another thing!!!! Under no circumstance should you use any developer above volume 10. If you do you have such a higher risk I'm making your hair fall out. If you're really scared but want to try I would suggest a strand test just like any hair dye would have you do so you can also see how 1) your hair reaction 2) if it's actually worth the time, effort and money 3) how much you will actually need.
Hope this is helpful ♥️ and please learn from my mistakes 😂🤷
From what I see which I'm gonna to this today or tomorrow I have red on the front of my hair and black in the back they say use equal parts of everything and use a 10 developer they say you can use a 20 but I'm not to sure on that
I wish I would have known about this before I cut off 5 inches of hair because it was green from swimming and I didn’t want to bleach my hair again.
Hi love your eye makeup what palette did you use.
Wonderfull makeup!
I LOVED that eye look 😍 please do a tutorial
I’m so jealous of the color of her hair!! I want white hair one day😭🤯and take advantage of it so I can dye it crazy bright colors too 😛
My hair was moderately healthy and it dried the hell out of my hair,... Currently trying to get all the oils back into my hair
my hair turned green and also this is my 3rd round, im praying that all the color comes out, im tired
So I just tried this.. my situation was I used splat purple dye and my hair rejected half of it, so I then put a permanent purple on and it still rejected it. So I tried this. My hair is now blotchy lighter pink, and my roots are YELLOW! I was hoping and praying this would work, but unfortunately, because, what I believe is that the splat is what rejected this from working. So probably don’t use this if it’s splat!
Can you do makeup tutorial on this look please 😍
This video showed up at the perfect time
