    ▼ FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THE COLOR WHEEL AND HOW TO GET YOUR HAIR BACK TO "NORMAL" ▼
    The first thing to consider when attempting to remove or change your hair color is what color do you want to achieve? Is your hair blonde underneath? Do you want to make it blonde again?
    If you don't want to keep it blonde - then go ahead and do this treatment and a few days later, go and put a darker color on your hair. Bam, you're back to normal.
    If you have blonde hair underneath your vibrant hair color, go ahead and use the Vitamin C/Dandruff Shampoo treatment as many times as you need in order to lift your hair back to it's regular color.
    The toner treatments I mentioned are basically a helpful way to assist with the "middle phases" and transition in between your bright color and your regular hair color. Toners assist with adding a tint of color to either make your hair appear more natural looking or make it more ashy - canceling out the leftover colors that may be still stuck in your hair.
    If you have the following hair colors, here are some options for you to follow:
    ▼ PURPLE HAIR ➳ If your hair is bright purple, do this treatment 2-3 times and let it fade. You can use the silver option too in between like I did. The silver toner really helps calm the color down in between treatments and keeps the blonde underneath nice and ashy - so it looks toned down and like you meant to do it that way. The undertone of platinum blonde is PURPLE - so you are in the right direction. The purple will naturally tone that blonde underneath to a nice ashy platinum color once the purple has faded out.
    ▼ RED HAIR / PINK HAIR ➳ If you have blonde underneath your red hair - This is a tricky one, but you can do it! Blonde hair really soaks up the orange/yellow in red dye. So this is a finicky one. On the color wheel, you can go towards the golden blondes, or the violet based platinum blondes. I recommend after you've done this treatment 3 times - to go to a stylist and have your stylist do a golden based toner treatment to make your blonde look natural again - or you can get a violet based toner and try to get your hair to platinum - but it might take a few salon visits to get you back to white/ashy platinum because your hair will really hold on to those orange/yellow colors. Be patient .... XO
    ▼ BLUE HAIR / GREEN HAIR ➳ Follow the video. The silver toner will be your best friend. You're also welcome to go the more purple route and use violet based toner during the transition phases.
    I also recommend not bleaching your roots until the color is faded out. This is because I tried this...haha... and looked ridiculous. Basically I had half blue and half bleach blonde hair. I recommend letting it fade, let it grow and then go get your roots touched up and Voila~ you're back to blonde.
    I also recommend googling the color wheel theory to help learn a bit more when it comes to hair colors. It's quite fascinating!
    Please comment below if you have any further questions. MUAH XOXO

    I did this literally 10 times. I even used baking soda. Guess what? This blue is still in my hair with about the same intensity as it was before, maybe a bit greener. If bleach doesn't get rid of this blue, I'm mentally suing Ion Color Brilliance Aqua.
    Update: Sooooo I ended up just bleaching over the blue (which still left behind a bluish tint). Seeing as this comment is four years old, my hair has been through numerous changes throughout the years and is now pink. The blue in my profile picture was from two years ago (I need to update it) and I used Arctic Fox in the color Poseidon which fades so damn fast so it has the opposite problem of Ion.

When removing unwanted hair color- I prefer a bleach bath with tad of clarifying shampoo, a bit of the opposite of the color wheel (for getting blue out, I add red) and a bit of bleach with a 20 vol. developer. Works like a charm every time. Great video!

I even put some peroxide on the ends to speed up the process. I wish I would have done that on all sections bc IT WORKS!!!!! I could tell as soon as I took the bag off my hair! My hair is platinum at the ends and very blonde elsewhere. More blonde than my natural hair! Thanks so much for this tutorial!💜💜💜💜

    If you want the blue green out, you use a toner opposite of that color. Using silver or a 'sister' color will only enhance the cool tones. Plus that is a temporary rinse, not an actual toner.

  • @revilsdr
    @revilsdr Před 7 lety +143

    This method is really nothing different that shampooing your hair with laundry detergent a bunch of times.. the reason why this causes hair to lift is because it's acidity is stripping the hair.. dandruff shampoo is a high sulfate product it strips the hair and Vitamin C is an acidic type product. you could probably do the same thing by using laundry detergent and lemon juice.. Or Dawn dishwashing liquid and lemon juice mixture.. also if you were trying to go back to a pure platinum blonde with no residual undertones of the old color this method probably would not work. If you needed a pure blonde with no residual undertones left using bleach alone in water or conditioner is actually not that bad if you don't add any developer to the bleach and only leave on a short time and condition with good quality treatment afterwards...haircolor 101 color will not lift color out so if you're trying to use hair color to remove/lighten another hair color out of the hair that does not work all it does is temporary mask the old undertone which will show back through as you wash your hair and it fades.

      A bleach bath without developer isn't a bleach bath? And this hokey science is oxidating the colour to remove in exactly the same way as a bleach bath except instead of 5-8 minutes she fried her hair 3 times for an hour. She has NO idea what chemicals she is putting in her hair - on the mad assumption that because her gut acid can break down the vitamin C is isn't going to be damaging? Bleach is not as damaging as people believe. It opens the cuticle to remove colour at a measured pH and with the developer it oxidises for a measured amount of time.

      Hi Amanda! Great question :) I would do this to get the green out. It took me about 2-3 times to get the green tinge out. I used the silver toner to hide the green that was remaining in my hair until it completely faded back to blonde. If you want to go back to blonde, try fading out the green as much as possible - then use a low developer (10 or 20) from Sally's and it will really lift out those stubborn bits. BUT also... when you've lifted it out, just put a blonde color over it and it will turn back to normal too! XO

      Hi Chrissy, I'm new to your channel, and I was wondering if you could help me out.
      I haven't dyed my hair for 3 years, but i did some ombre last year around the beginning of january, I left it like that, and now I decided I wanted silver/white hair, I went to a different hair salon because my hairdresser didn't have olaplex or any other kind of prevention treatment for damaged hair. My hair was bleached, my natural color got white, but the part where the ombre was turned yellow, so the hairdresser obviously washed it with purple shampoo, but still dyed it purple, saying it was to cut leftovers of yellows and with the excuse that because my hair was wet it wasn't going to become bright purple. The thing is that my hair sometimes has weird color reactions, and I ended up with purple/blue/lilac hair, I thought that with the washes it was goin to fade to a more lilac color, but instead after washing it twice my hair is now mostly baby blue with some hints of green here and there.
      Do you think using this method will work for me? Does any brand of dandruff shampoo work ? Please help, i'ts been only two days and I'm so sick of looking at my hair D :

      This actually works very well with splat. Only because spot is a vegan die. And I say die not color because that's all it does is it dies your hair it stains it. I've been using Splat for years now because of this purpose. But right now my hair is purple blue and I think teal and red in there. And I have done this treatment several times when I want to go back to white blond. It does take a few times and towards the end I did end up having to do a bleach treatment but it got down to almost near nothing. But yes it works with splat again go to Sally's tell him what you're doing I have to get these little red dye packets to add into my mixture concoction. Only because I'm actually a redhead. So kind of makes a little bit more difficult. Good luck

    My natural hair colour is bleach blonde and my hair is blue at the font.it was done with crazy colour and It said wasn't temporary The blue been in my hair for 9 month and I want it out and every time I get my hair dresser to do it she bleaches it and after a few washed my roots go brown and I want all my hair back to normal dose anyone now how to do it X sorry if this don't make sense X

    • @missychrissssy
      @missychrissssy  Před 8 lety +2

      Omg try this mixture a few times, don't use bleach! Eeeeeek!! But at least your hair dresser is doing it, which means you are probably in safe hands - but it's not good to bleach your hair more than twice.... using a high volume developer is better than using bleach.... but try this mixture and let me know how it goes XO

      Color oops is literally bleach. If you want to fry your hair then go for it or just use hair bleach. It's the same.

      Colors oops is not bleach. It will not lighten hair any lighter than it was before depositing color.

    I have a question to ask people, can you use dry shampoo to take out hair chalk or is it just washing it? I want to know because I might use hair chalk but I don’t want to wash my hair YET if any of you know anything, please tell me. Also if I see most people saying the same thing then I will listen to them.
