    I needed this video. Kind of a halftime pep talk. It’s so easy to fall into a step 1-10 do this and do that. It starts with mindset and loving yourself with everything you’ve got. Do all the healthy things, let your body and mind do their thing unencumbered with negative thoughts. And give it some time. Don’t rush it. Stay off the scales for a couple weeks and go outside and let nature help. My thoughts. Thanks for loving us enough to do these videos. Keep ‘em coming.

    I find that if I do a 48-72 fast my knees improve massively. I have worked in construction for nearly 40 years in all kinds of weather. My knees can be very painful at times. But since I have started fasting, losing weight. There has been a huge improvement with my knees.

      Good to know!! I just had a total left knee replacement a few months ago and it was hell...Ive decided to hold off on getting the right knee done..Im only 43..

    I am praying that someday I can incorporate physical with spiritual fasting. Jesus said, WHEN, not IF you fast. As human beings we can’t be eating all the time.
    I find that when I fast I feel like a brand new human it’s pretty amazing! Wish everyone knew how amazing fasting is! We would all be wealthy in health and possessions. Best things are really free

    I find that two things help with the fast.1) Don't think about you not eating. Whatever you focus on expands and whatever you ignore diminishes. 2) Salt. I'm currently at hour 107 in a fast (for biblical purposes) and my knee has responded tremendously. Always enjoy your content!

    i work with three miserable people and over the last 8 months I've gained of weight. just turned 50 and am going through menopause. have to lose the weight...so worried about heart attack. on day 2 of fast. praying it works. everyone please think good thoughts for me!

BUT I gained about 20 pounds back over last 5 months when I stopped fasting over Christmas holiday and haven't started back up. I'm upset with myself and ready to start fasting again. Starting today with 5 day water/coffee fast and then back to 1 meal a day after that. Please pray for me. Want to be around, healthy and happy, for a LONG time for my 2 little kids. I know day one and two is the hardest...please pray for me to make it!!! DAY ONE!!!

    Thank you so much for this video Dr Mindy. It was great and really spoke to me!! I have been fasting for five days now and have almost completely recovered from year-long plantar fasciitis in both feet that was preventing me from walking more than very short distances, and a four-month old knee injury that was preventing me from cycling either. I had tried every non-invasive intervention out there (medical and “alternative“) and nothing had worked!! Your videos have guided me through this process - thank you sooooo much ❤️
    After a year of agony the end is finally in sight. I am almost in tears of joy. I feel so safe in the knowledge that my body has the capacity to heal itself from almost anything. My cousin first sent me one of your videos and I am now forwarding them like crazy so others can experience the benefits that I have. You are amazing!! 🤩

    It will be 2 months I've been doing 20 hrs intermittent fasting....I've been amazed at the inflammation disappearing....even canker sores...healing almost immediately after getting one...wow

    I didn't know fasting helped so I stumbled upon this lifestyle by reading Greek Orthodox saints and learned that they fasted for weeks sometimes a month with nothing but water. I was inspired by this and did 11 days of water fasting and it was amazing, that was 14 years ago and I now fast for 15 days a month broken up by 3 day fasts.

    hello everyone!! im a newbie on the fasting way of living. diagnosed with fibromyalgia and almost 300 pounds i was living a miserable life. not counting calories or keto, just fasting im down to 145!!! i was at this weight when i was a teenager. im about to fast for 72+ to see if my brain gets better, getting some bad brain fogs, lost of concentration, misplace items, missing freeway exit. hoping all this improve with this 72. i love the loads of information you give us and your passion to change lives. with love from San Diego

    Worrying has been a pattern my entire life ….. I’m working on that daily…. Loads of trauma from dad having bad spinal accident plus others and my own traumatic brain injury nearly 10 years ago ….I started low carb then keto now more meat based carnivore feeling better and better using fasting 16-18 hours varying . Eliminated products with toxins 2 years ago . On this continuing journey thank you . Menopausal and 53 had hormone imbalance and adrenal fatigue for decades . Patiently reversing all of it ! A-1C now 5.0 ! Blood pressure much better no meds needed .

    Thank you for mentioning EMDR. I am an Trauma/EMDR therapist. I find EMDR to be one of the best if not the best form of Trauma Therapy.

    I’ve got traumas and I recently got into a car accident dealing with a bad concussion that caused my mental health the spiral. Last week I returned to prolonged fasting + high fat low protein keto. Did a 37 hour fast, 22 hour fast and then a 47 hour fast last week … ate keto over the weekend and now I’m jumping into a 72 hour fast! Gonna slow the fasting after the 72 hr salt water fast … you are so right you have to be in the right head space to heal and to fast! Beautiful video ❤️❤️❤️

      I have Post Concussion Syndrome, and am disabled because of the severity of my symptoms. I recently did Alternate Day Fasting, for a three month period. I feel like my symptoms worsen with anything over 30 hours of fasting. Do you have a lot of dizziness, with your concussion?

    How about birth at a later age? I had 3 kids in 3 years from 39-42. I feel like this has slowed me down tremendously.
    And, the shame piece is huge. I deal with the emotional piece. Physical and emotional are so deeply connected. I love the law of attraction and find it is the underlying truth to so much in our lives and bodies.

      Wow, amazing- your body is amazing being able to handle three kids during those ages. I had two at 30 and 32. My husband and I were recently talking about how our mind and amount of energy have a lot to do with how we are feeling daily. I have been working on being more positive and moving my body more.

    I cant wait to do a guided fast training week at some point. My primary focus is improving mental health and trying to prevent dementia & alzheimer's later in life. I've been IM-fasting for a few years. I had a couple of orthopedic surgeries in the past 2 years that led to weight gain - understandable but not welcome! :) I did the 36 hour fast and incorporated weekly 24 hour fasts. I lost 8 pounds the first 2 months and it has not come back. I also do not have as much knee pain and definitely am SLEEEPING so much better. I haven't had restful sleep in YEARS. This wasn't even something I thought I could get back. Yaahoooo!
    Now that it's summer, it's a challenge to stay eating clean and not indulging happy hours but - still trying to live for the future me. I do not want to live with chronic illnesses. Anyway, THANK YOU - these videos are so amazing and to the point!

    This is "coincidentally" just what I wanted to hear, as I'm dealing with a bladder/prostate issue and trying to heal it naturally, but the mental part is maybe the most challenging, not worrying and having a lot of pressure to get results asap, etc. Listening to lots of guided meditation ("Great Meditation" is a great CZcams channel for this, BTW) and also healing frequency calming music CZcams channels. Just meditation top, get out of my head. Thanks so much fir your love and inspiration. I Also read everyday Dr Mindy's 5 point affirmations I heard recently

    Mindy- my fasting results changed when I did 2 things. 1) started eating earlier in the evening- I don’t eat past 6:30pm and 2) the healthier I eat during my eat phase, the easier the fasting phase because I haven’t spiked insulin all day so yes, I think eating close to keto as u can during the eat phase will make the fast phase easier! On a side note, I used opiates for several years. Do you think fasting will …repair and make new….dopamine receptors in my body and brain? Love u Mindy!

    Again, timely video. Thanks Mindy. I seem to be going through a long drawn out healing crisis right now and am feeling out of sorts. I’ve been unhealthy for the last 30yrs and dove into a water fast after coming down with a cold. As unhealthy as I’ve been, I rarely got sick. This cold was unreal. Took me all the way down. Now, after 5 days water only (no desire to eat), I feel that I’m floating /swimming in my mind. I’m having a hard time pinpointing the sensation/symptoms but yeah... I believe my body is more than overwhelm with toxins. Recently had my first chiropractic adjustment along with a deep massage (2wks prior to getting sick) and I’ve come to learn that there’s loads of toxins released with that process. I’m going through it but remaining strong. Working on building my appetite and stamina back up by eating fruit and some probiotics. I’ve been studying all forms of fasting for the last 3-4yrs and assumed it should go one way. Yet, I didn’t really want to process how inundated with toxins and traumas my body has had to withstand. 30yrs of purely unhealthy eating, thinking and living. Beyond sedentary lifestyle so... I’ve accepted that this will be a longer process than i deluded myself into believing it will be. It only makes sense to take my time because I think a 180 change of this magnitude would be overwhelming in all aspects of it were to happen in a week or two’s time 😩😆 instant gratification never pays off. Thanks for all that you do. Your video discussing “How to know it’s time to break your fast” is what got my mind right and know that it was time to eat. I’m a mom, I can’t play with my life like that.

    Thank you Dr. Mindy. Very timely and relevant video for me. I need to work on detox. Is it better to take a full body detox supplement or to do only a liver and kidney detox since those are the two detox organs of the body?

    Hi Dr. Mindy, Thanks so much for your positive, encouraging, and informative videos! I have a question about autophagy and about using up stored fat cells through fasting. I understand autophagy to be the clearing out of old and damaged cells during periods of fasting. Can you explain how fasting works specifically on fat cells stored in the pancreas and liver(or elsewhere) that contribute to pre-diabetes and diabetes? I am asking because I read another report that said that when fasting the body changes proteins into sugar for fuel which results in muscle loss. Does it use up your stored fat, or does it convert your protein to sugar?
