When I broke my fibula (tripped in a pothole) I did two 20+ hours (a few 36hours) dry fasts a week. (I had been fasting prior to the break also.)
In 5weeks I was walking without any support (no boot). I am 56 years old and when I looked up how long a fibula takes to heal it said 3-6 months.
The doctor asked me what I was doing and I told him I was fasting twice a week
    Fasting is great!

3 day fast and then intermittent fasting eliminated my lower back pain down 80%-100% no joke! I’ve also lost 35lbs eating anything I want in my eating window. I just sprained my ankle yesterday playing soccer so I’m fasting for 3-5 days to try to heal faster 😊 Fasting is miraculous 💕

Thanks Dr. Mindy!! THIS is why I started Keto. Yes I have 40lbs of back to back baby weight to lose...but more than that I just want to feel better! Chronic Fatigue, migraines, neck pain, insomnia, anxiety & depression are ruining my life and stealing the happy moments I want to enjoy with my kiddos. I’ve been binge watching your videos and I’m so excited to get more into fasting with your Resetters group! I’ve been doing a 16 hour IF for a couple months, but this week I stretched it to 18-20 hours!

15 Day Reset! I'm so excited to have found you. I've been dealing with chronic pain in my neck and shoulder for a few years now, diagnosed with torticollis and herniated discs in my neck. Within 2 months of starting keto in June, 2018, I said no to the cortisone shots in my neck because the pain had decreased to a tolerable level. I still have twisty days, and days when the pain is more severe. Fasting looks like it may be the answer I'm looking for! Thank you so much for all of the great information!

Fan-tas-tic. I didn't know anything about this but I did a 5 day fast (water only) 2 weeks ago and it's exactly what happened. I had been suffering horrible low back pains for years, i. e not being able to lay on my back for more than 10 minutes at a time, in pain 24/7 and since I've fasted, I hardly feel the pain (I have a disc hernia), I can lay on my back for an hour, my energy levels are amazing and I am coming out of a terrible fight or flight mode which handicapped me for years. I feel awesome, I'm truly starting a new life (or getting alive again) - I am myself again! Currently doing Intermittent Fasting and running on high fat- low carbs, not quite keto yet. What you say on this video is 100% true, Doctor Pelz, I'm the living proof and you are AWESOME ❤️👍 Thank you so much for all your precious advice, explanations & love ✨

      @adeodata6364 Před 5 lety +4

@@annkleinman3244 thank you 😑 No, I had decided to fast for 7 days and just did it on a Tuesday 1 pm. after eating black beans, lard and rice. (I stopped at 5 & a half only because I was alone at home and didn't want to take any risks) I hardly knew anything about fasting (much less about Intermittent Fasting and Keto) when I started, I just knew I HAD to do it. It was pretty easy, apart from a few strange sensations in the body the first 3 days. It was during those 5 days (I stopped fasting on Sunday evening 11pm.) that I watched hundreds of videos about health in general, keto, Intermittent Fasting etc. and that I really started getting the “Big picture". I've continued fasting intermittently since then, with a few exceptions now and then, and base my diet on what I learned about keto. I don't do a strict keto, but almost. Never felt so great, full of energy, don't have any inflammation anymore, nor any digestion problems. Most of all, my back pain is at about 3/10 when it had been at about 8 or 9 /10 for years.
It was also amazing breaking the fast, because by adding foods slowly to my diet (+with the knowledge I had gained), I was able to spot what my body digested/assimilated easily or not, and why/how. What I also noticed is that I didn't want to use any chemicals coming from the outside anymore. Even my daily skin creams- just looking at them made me cringe, as if I felt the aggression to my body just by looking at them 😏. It says a lot about how polluted we are by our environment.
Now I've got used to them again...
What I can say is that I had wanted to fast for some time, so I probably was prepared psychologically, and didn't really need to prepare my body so much. You may need to... Just trust your instinct?
I must also say that I had 10 days ahead alone at home, without anything special to do or worry about except fasting and sleeping. So those were very good conditions not everyone has!
      Good luck to you 😁🤞

Like you, I dont want to put chemicals on me or in me, I can just feel the body speak to me and say, "No way, not in this priceless vessel." Ha!
Again I'm so happy for you. I hope it goes to a 0 pain in time. 😍👍

Hopefully, in a couple more months they will look good as new. Also, I swallowed a crown for one my teeth over a year ago. I expected pain and sensitivity. But I do not have pain. The reduced inflammation is a great benefit. IF/OMAD really allows your body to use its self-healing powers.

I have bettered my pain since December 2018 just from fasting. I had been dealing with excruciating chronic pain for two years before I found fasting. No doctor I saw in that timeframe helped me. And I’ve never been one to take pain pills of any type. I was getting maybe 3 hours of sleep a night for two years because of the pain. And having 3 kids to take care of, the bare sleep and the pain was really making me depressed, hopeless and borderline suicidal.
Just in two months fasting, I’m getting a full nights sleep now, still no pain meds of any type. My pain is still diminished greatly and hasn’t returned with the same intensity. Not sure if my complex mass has shrunk any or gone away from fasting; I haven’t had the patience to go back to the doctor yet. But I feel like myself again and I know I’m going to be fine.
If anyone has any questions, let me know, I’ll answer.
If you’re in pain, there is hope for you, I promise!

Ann Kleinman my first ever fast was a 3 day water fast. I realize for some people starting with that may not be a good idea. After my 3 day water fast, I began OMAD(one meal a day). I did OMAD for all of December and beginning in January I did a 5 day long water fast. Now I’m back with OMAD. I gave up soda. I gave up every kind of sweet. And I gave up eating as much protein and meat. I also gave up large quantities of carbs. If I eat carbs with a meal, it’s smart carbs. I have one cup of coffee a week. It’s a reward for myself. The rest of the time I drink nothing but water and herbal tea. I do not add anything to my herbal tea. The only herbal tea I drink is green tea and earl grey. When I do water fasting, I use one electrolyte packet in my water per every 24 hours. I use the ultima electrolytes I found on amazon. There’s no carbs, no sugar, no calories in those. I have added an Adrenal gland support supplement to my everyday routine and also a powdered magnesium supplement. I plan to keep doing a 3-5 day water fast once a month and continue with OMAD. And since I’m a female, I will also follow dr mindys protocol for hormonal balance diet wise. Change is hard but being in the condition I was, I felt I had nothing else to lose. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

My Doc said that I have some flattened discs without any nerve compression but I have still the constant pain on my back and leg. I just found dies video and very exited. Could you tell me how to fasten. I am now working just three days a week because of my pain. Can I do the fasting? I never tried. zoogiimongol@yahoo.de. I can’t thank you enough for your wealth of helpful information! For years I’ve suffered with adrenaline rushes several times a night. They would wake me out of a sound sleep…something akin to a panic attack. After being on your 5-1-1 for 5 weeks, I suddenly realized that I have not had a single one in over 3 weeks. Also, the pain I’ve had in my hands from much classical piano training, is gone as well. But the relief in my brain is immense! I’m going to stick with intermittent fasting even though I’ve reached my weight goal. I’m 70 and feeling fantastic! I’m thanking my God too for the many blessings I’m enjoying!

July 2014 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Treatments with prednisone was temporary as I kept re-flairing. 2017 I saw a naturopath and took food sensitivity test, removed all foods listed in the red/yellow. December 2017 was the last time I took prednisone. January 2018 I started intermittent fasting. Forward to 2019 I've been off prednisone for over a year now, last colonoscopy showed I've been healed and dont have to see the GI doctor for another 8 months. If anyone has any questions hit me up.

@@annkleinman3244 My research led to intermittent fasting for two reasons. 1. Longer fasted periods allows the gut to take a rest thus time to heal. 2. I wanted to lose another 10 pounds without really restricting/adjust my nutrition. I started with 10 (eating) / 14 fasting and gradually reduced it down to 8/16 Mon-Fri and on weekends 6/18 and at least once or twice a month 24 hour fast. Did I mention I went from 210 pounds down to 164? ;) I knew getting down to 170 pounds was possible never thought I could go below. I even coach a running group now..thats a story for another time :)

❤EXTREMELY HELPFUL ❤ from the bottom of my heart THANKYOU.. for the 1st time in 14years I have hope .. I had an infection that did so much damage that I spent 6months in hospital straight, operating just to get the infection and was told by neurologist that NOTHING can be done for my pain . My l3,4,5 r just a clump of mess that I’ve been explained to that not even a tissue would fit between the discs mussels nerves tissues.. needless to say majority of the past 14 years I’ve spent either in a bed or chair .. huge weight gain which is why I got so interested in looking into you in the 1st place, I’ve had enough being so unhealthy.. sick of taking a literal handful of pills , morning, noon and night . I’m 44 and feel like I’m 94 .. Thanks for sharing your mums story. Means everything ❤

How are you doing? I am on day 3 of soft dry fast which equates to 9 days of water fasting. I'm experiencing severe low back pain and leg pain. I've been given the following reasons as to why: 1) Another thought on hip/back pain 5-10 days into a fast is that your immune system is replaced when we fast longer than 72 hours. Those new white blood cells are produced in our bone marrow. The locations which have the largest amount of bone marrow? Hip bones. Cancer patients who take drugs to mobilize their bone marrow after chemo are very familiar with this pain.
      2) In some cases it is due to the rapid tone-up of the abdominal wall which straightens the lower back and thus put tension on the posterior ligaments.
      3) OR toxins are released from muscles and it puts a heavy load on colon causing aches, pain in lower back, legs and hips.
