I've had fibromyalgia and CFS for over 35 years, and I doubt if there's been a day go by that I didn't think about just giving up on everything. After having it for so long, I'm too weak and exhausted to do anything. I can't hardly go to the bathroom or get anything to eat, much less take the steps to adjust my diet, or anything else to improve my health. Unless you're in this bad a shape, you can not possibly imagine how hard it is just to sit up and move in the slightest, much less do anything more. I have no one to help me either. Because I don't look sick and disabled, I get no understanding and help. It's a living nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Exactly my experience. Six doctors consulted as I became unable walk more than 50 yards w/o gritting my teeth in pain, each neglected to mention that 5 to 30% of people had painful leg reactions. I was told I would likely have much increased risk of stroke and heart attack if I quit taking them. I was told that the pains came from spinal stenosis, and I needed to go to a neurosurgeon to get evaluated for surgery to help such pain. I went onto Pubmed for 20 minutes, and found six papers with data explaining such pain I had had increasing for 25 yrs. I cut to 1/2 dose with no improvement. My GP said try 1/10th dose to see. I did that, and had no relief. I quit, and had almost immediate relief, and no longer needed Ibuprofen to live. Buyer beware. IMHO

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and later diagnosed with pcos and ultimately stage 4 endometriosis. This started almost 30 yrs ago. As a nurse at the time for 14 years I turned to keto, despite a rheumatologist telling me I would suffer for the rest of my life. I refused Lyrica due to way too many side effects. I continue to find relief by following a low carb high protein diet, and a steady weight-lifting regimen. I took high-grade iodine drops after being diagnosed with Hashimotos, and my nodules disappeared. Ditch the carbs, cake and bread. My A1c remains low. I completely revised my diet. Magnesium reversed my plantar fascitis. . None of this happened overnight. I did acupuncture and chiropractic visits, and meditation for anxiety and depression instead of pain meds and welbutrin. Did end up w/a hysterectomy. Firm believer in ashwhaghanda and Sam-E. I'm 60 years young and getting better every day. Still working as a nurse too for 28 years. My wife started getting fibromyalgia 3 years ago and in March this year it was intolerable. She was in pain all the time. We changed to a Keto diet and she saw improvement within 2 weeks. We have now been doing Keto for 8 months and she has no more pain. She can now even eat some junk carbs again when she feels like it. What has been the most amazing thing is that we actually don't WANT to eat the stuff anymore because we don't enjoy the taste anymore! A little bit every now and again maybe.
I enjoy every single meal and always look forward to my meals. However, we are never hungry anymore and fasts 16-20 hours a day. I used to have to eat 5 times a day. It's liberating to not have to constantly worry about the next meal.
We have both seen multiple health markers improve (9 for me) and not that either of us had much weight problems (my wife gained a bit too much maybe the last year before we started Keto), but so many other things were problematic that we used to blame on 'age'.
I had Vertigo for 5.5 years. Three months on Keto and it was gone!

My close friend suffered with fibromyalgia for many, many years. She would get med upon med for 2 to 3 years until her body rebelled and she would end up in the emergency room for some random extreme problem. At that time, and after many tests, the emergency doctor would tell her to stop all meds immediately. Slowly over time her regular doctor would again stockpile her meds, until once again she was in emergency. This cycle repeated 3 or 4 times until on her final emergency visit she was told that she had cirrhosis of the liver. Being she had never consumed alcohol (for religious beliefs), she was shocked. The doctor told her that over use of medications could also cause cirrhosis of the liver. He told her to get off meds and stay off meds. This time, she committed to stay off meds. The next day she quit diet coke, started to take short walks, improved her eating and sleeping habits. It took less than 2 years and she considers herself fibromyalgia free. The condition of her liver means she has to take care with her meals. (Which, honestly, has been a blessing.)

Doctors treated him awfully, called him a hyperchondriac, prescribed peppermint tablets and told him to “just eat more vegetables” as he was somewhat overweight. He was traumatised by all of this, terrified he was dying and nobody cared to help.
It got to such a low point when he said f this and took things into his own hands. He changed his diet himself by paying attention to his body, his inner compass, and following a low-fodmap diet (with some changes of course), he also sought therapy for his trauma, and made great strides in both physical and mental health.
Now after so much hard work and paying close attention to his mind and body, he is able to eat/drink whatever he likes (yet still a majority healthy diet), he is thriving and is so much happier and empowered and confident. I’m so proud of him and so happy to be out of that hell.
There is hope out there, please listen to your body and mind and take care of your self first and foremost ❤️ tune in to your needs and your inner compass, it takes time, but you do have an inner guidance system that is so powerful if you can learn to listen to it and differentiate it from fear responses. And boy does it take practice and a lot of self love, but mine and my partner’s inner compass has pointed us down the right path time and time again, where most doctors have mislead us, doubted us, and fed that fear and self doubt.
Yes, doctors can help with certain ailments, but with these invisible illnesses it becomes a real skill to be able to wade through their “I know better than you because med school” gaslighting gatekeepy bs and stand up for the real pain and suffering you feel inside yourself, and what you know to be real and true.

I have a very similar story.. no luck with doctors or specialists and always telling me I was in the wrong specialists office and once I started working with a meditation coach, healing my energy field and changing my diet completely I cured my intractable pain syndrome. For me it was adhesive arachnoiditis however many doctors first told me it was fibro. I also cured my diabetes, pcos, endometriosis, anxiety, depression, ptsd, asthma and every single chronic illness that lived in my body.
It was only when I was so fed up from being led astray from people who pretend to be authority figures that I figured things out myself.
Now I live with zero pain and was also able to conceive naturally - something I’ve been told since I was 15/16 would likely be impossible.

Back in about 1982 I lost a good deal of weight on what was then Atkins, Low Carb. Early 90s, I remarried, had another child, and gained back weight and got to a max weight of 252. I went back on what I knew for me, worked and went back to low carb, eventually losing over 100 lbs. However in between I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I had no idea at that time, as to a connection between carbs and Fibro but it makes so much sense. Getting remarried and pregnant also changed my lifestyle to the point that I was making meals for the family based on their preferences and of course that included potatoes, veggies, macaroni, pastas etc.
After losing the weight, as my family grew up and my then husband walked out (it seemed my weight loss caused unexpected jealousy and insecurity for him, rather that appreciation) I have gone back to eating low to no carb meals. I haven't had a Fibro Flare now in years. I think I now know why...

Dr Berry, I respect you a great deal. I’ve had all the tests for a1c and fasting glucose, etc(many more tests over the yrs too, never been pre diabetic). Wish it was as simple as changing my diet for me. I am a patient at UNC Chapel Hill and see Rheumatology and Neurology. Keto and even carnivore did not “cure” me. I have done all the supplements for over 2 yrs now. I’ve followed your advice since 2017, and listen to you and Neisha too. I take high doses of magnesium, melatonin, vitamin D3 and K2 and C, have for a least 2 of the 3 yrs keto(like I mentioned before, have also lost 72 lbs)While I have gotten tremendous relief, and thankful for so many who get their cure all, I did not get my cure all. Still grateful for the improvements over past 3 yrs. It’s just very hurtful for many who have still suffered pain like I have for over 16 or more yrs to come on here and read others calling it a fake or bogus disease, when I live it and have seen many specialists. It’s very inconsiderate to those who live it and do not get their full cure all. I haven’t taken drugs for Fibro for over 14 yrs, because they did not help and caused other side effects, but my chronic pain is a reality that I live with every single day. I will still watch, learn, and keep staying on it. It’s certainly helped more than anything else. People need to be respectful for what they do not know or live themselves and every one is different. I agree with you on many points Dr Berry, but it isn’t a cure all for everyone who truly has fibromyalgia, and especially from neurological and central nervous system issues like mine was diagnosed. I do appreciate your care and help though. Thank you Dr Berry and Neisha.

And yes, I do regularly IF every day at least 16-18 hrs, and also fasted for days at times since 2017. I’ve also done complete carnivore for months(I follow Makayla Peterson too. I just came off of a 21 day fast. I’ve definitely seen improvements these past yrs since I began in Sept 2017, it just hasn’t been a cure all for my all over pain. I try to stay positive. I feel many people call food issues Fibromyalgia, when it really isn’t always food issues for all Fibro sufferers. It isn’t that cut and dry for Fibroymyalgia. Sometimes every illness isn’t a quick fix with a magic pill/bullet/diet, so to speak. Diet certainly is key to helping though, and I do believe that! I am happy for those who have gotten their complete cure, but some out there still haven’t, and we should always have compassion and empathy and a curiosity for staying open to learning for what illnesses any of us do not fully understand. There are MANY theories out there about fibromyalgia and even the specialists who deal with it regularly do not have the complete answers. Just like some cancers, not everything is a cure all for all. Everyone is different. I’m not looking for anyone to fix me, or feel sorry for me, only sharing my truth and reality. I’ve been working Dr Westman, Dr Berry, Neisha and Kristie Sullivan’s program since 2017 very seriously follow them and take their advice. They have helped me so much these past yrs. My mother has fibromyalgia. She has been taking Magnesium supplements and that alone has resolved 80% of all her symptoms. It all started when she was in agony and was complaining of having a) No energy. b) muscle pain. c) mental fog and being stuck in bed. To me, being young and in sports at the time, it sounded like her muscles were not either healing or getting the nutrients to perform, and that is why they were hurting. We all were eating the same foods, so I knew she should have had plenty of vitamins and proteins to help her muscles. So I did a bit of research on what vitamins / supplements were the best at a) supporting muscles getting the nutrients they need and b) helping muscles heal c) help product energy. Magnesium tackled two of those. At first she didn't think it would help, but I chastised her that she needed to try for a while so that the nutrient levels would have time to build up in here body and in her muscles. Sure enough, she quit hurting so much and became more and more active and returning to her work ethic and hobbies, but she still didnt have all the energy. She takes CoQ10 and Vitamin D and that seems to do the trick. I'd say she's at 95% recovery. If she neglects her supplements or over does it, it will set her back a day (which is normal at her age I think anyways), but certainly not weeks on end being bed ridden anymore.

I had never been overweight but had been on a low calorie, low fat, sugar filled diet my whole life. I was diagnosed and given Lyrica. The first 2-4 weeks on lyrica felt like a miracle! I thought I was better. I thought I could finally start living well. Nope........after that point the benefits began to wain and I gained 40lbs in one year on it. I was not binge eating. I was following my same dietary values as before even stricter in fact. I quit that mess. (Which was a whole other bear) So, I have been struggling with pain, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression my whole life. People that were older than me continually told me I was too young to be feeling that bad so thus I wasn't. (😡) I started keto 2 weeks ago after fighting with my 40 lyrica pounds for a few years and my husband having many health complications of his own. (Fatty liver) I started feeling better in 2-3 days. 2 weeks in and I never want to see a carb again. I love carbs but no bread or pasta is worth feeling like that. Thankyou sir. I’m from the U.K. and I suffer from fibromyalgia. It all started with a spinal incident which led to me getting acute lumbar spondylosis and degenerative disc disease. I’ve been on morphine and fentanyl 112mg and have been on thyroxine, sertraline for depression. I have constant brain fog, plus my weight has gone through the roof and I have a constant need to eat sugary foods and carbs. Then the pain started getting worse, my knees were hurting, now diagnosed with arthritis and need a total knee replacement, but in April this year the orthopaedic surgeon said I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. This was a first discovery for me. When you mentioned insomnia, tiredness depression etc. I thought wow these are 90% of my symptoms. By watching your vlog and reading this article I am going to see my GP, plus I’m going to do a macro managed diet where my carbs will be 35%, my proteins 45% & my fats at 20%. I am hoping my doing this that my fibromyalgia will dissipate, the weight come off, the stomach pains go away and my ability to sleep at night will return. Plus my HB1aC numbers go down, along with my pre diabetes results. Once again thanks. I found the article fascinating and I agree, this looks like big pharma seeing their dollar bill profits depleting. No company should have this power. It’s frightening that so many politicians have taken backhanders from big businesses to sway decisions in their favour rather than in the favour of the people, who actually vote them in. Your political system in the USA is scary at times. Wish me luck 🍀

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia many years ago and it was so bad that I was on very heavy medication to control symptoms. Well I also had other symptoms that the doctor just scratched his head and I went to see another doctor, one just like you.... More educated in the field of health rather than just writing a prescription👍. He said he wanted me to do a candida cleanse for 30 days, NOT eating carbs or sugar. I did just that and OMG can I just tell you the whole world opened up to me. My fibromyalgia totally disappeared as well as depression, anxiety, and a whole host of other symptoms. I no longer needed any kind of medication and no longer had pain. So yes! Them blood sugars will mess you up good. Naturally I didn't stay on that diet forever and with much regret. However, I go back to it often and now I'm just doing carnivore. That being said I've never needed hardcore pain meds since that diet. I keep things in check and take loads of oregano because that seriously keeps fibromyalgia in check and has for me for many years. Love your videos👍😊

But because I've been feeling more and more unhealthy, and don't want my health conditions to worsen, I want to put my best effort into changing my diet and give up sugar and processed foods, in the hopes of stopping the progression of some of my conditions (which include chronic fatigue, osteoarthritis, aortic stenosis, sleep apnea...), and improving my health. @@Angela-by7qb I really doesn't have to be, there is a lot of bad advice online, some is well meaning some is just trying to sell you something. Dr Berry above has a keto 101 video if you search his channel and it gives you a nice easy rundown of how to do it. Basically if you stick to meat, dairy, eggs, above ground vegetables, herbs and spices (as long as they have no sugar added) and low carbohydrate fruit (such as berries and avocado) you can't go wrong. If you really need a treat, 70%+ dark chocolate is fine (you may find that doesn't taste sweet now, but once you've been keto for a while it tastes very sweet. If you start looking for all the keto treats, or trying to add huge amounts of fat, or worry about too much protein, or needing to measure this that or the other with expensive strips etc you'll go crazy but non of that is necessary. Also don't feel you have to do it all at once. I started by just making my breakfast keto, when I got used to that and had figured out a few options that worked for me and it had become a habit, I also made my morning snack keto, then lunch etc until I was following an entirely ketogenic diet. It took me about 3 months to become fully keto but by the time I got there it felt normal, it wasn't difficult to follow as I'd done it little by little. I also avoided any side effects that way. It's definitely worth the effort though.

Whether this was the case at the time or not I can only speculate, but every part of my body seemed to hurt, I only had to sit down and I would fall asleep whatever time of day and I felt like I had lost the ability to reason or remember anything. I was unable to get a doctors appointment due to the Covid outbreak and turned to CZcams for answers. Luckily for me I found you, Sten Eckberg and Rob Cywes. Years ago (in my 20's) I had corrected my diet because I am a person with hypoglycemia. I learned to eat a low carb diet. It didn't fix the fibromyalgia and I lived with the chronic fatigue and pain level of 5 to 7 daily but determined enough to continue my goals. I continued on despite bouts of depression. I am the "Queen of Compensation ". My problem, it turned out was loss of magnesium. I have a rare B12 , mineral loss genetic illness (under stress I throw into my urine several minerals and the B12; still a mystery as to why). When a RNNP who specializes gut minerals met me in 2012 and did a history on me she determined what minerals was severely depleted. I had a goiter (determined by ultrasound) not seen because it grew into my throat space. This was how low the iodine was. She did extensive testing on several minerals. Magnesium was low but iodine was nearly non existent. There are several other minerals low but these two were the worst. Recommended various chelated forms of magnesium. That was life changing. My pain levels were 1 to 3. Since 4 yo I never felt better. Unfortunately, I had acquired several head injuries (the last being bacterial meningitis with 2 strokes) and this is the cause of Organic Brain syndrome. OBS causes chronic fatigue too. So diet & mineral regulation does not fix chronic sleepy. But I now know increase pain is decreased minerals and they are replaceable. No pain meds necessary.

I also found out myself, by research and symptom relief, that I need magnesium, among many other minerals and vitamins. It's my own self diagnosis that I do not absorb properly and need to ingest extra to get enough. But I also have long-standing Lyme, or post Lyme syndrome, who knows. Anyway, my pain doesn't get better from supplements, but many of my other symptoms are relieved.
